You’d have to keep going in the main game for a little bit longer for access to Regileki, Reidrago, and the Galarian Birds because you need the water bike
Unfortunately even then you can't catch them due to needing the badge requirement to catch above level 60 Pokemon

@@Ferrastar yes but that is not a static encounter. It's a den encounter. It's been tested and proven already that you can't catch static encounters. Regigigas might be possible however

In order to get Calyrex, you have to be the champion in order to catch it. You can do the whole quest of Calyrex, but you can't catch it until you're the champion.
Austin, once you get to the wild area you can go over to Hop and activate the little cut scene. Then once it is over go back into the station and travel back to Wedgehurst. There you will do the cut scene for Slowpoke pre dlc. After that cut scene you can go to Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra. Do not need to even go into the Wild Area.
The flag to enter DLC is entering the Wild Area for the first time. You actually can go back to Wedgehurst immediately after entering the wild area, you just can't go anywhere else by train and have to head to Wedgehurst to enter DLC
This was perfect timing bc I was just about to start a new profile to get the ice horse and regidrago and was wondering how difficult that would be

Well to get the other regi, and other Pokémon in the crown tundra, you need to be able to go on water with ur bike so you need 6-7 gym badges. But it should be easy with suicune

yeah and even if you buy the dlc you will be fine. I recently restarted my 2nd file to get every pokemon.
Yeah I beat the game a week before Crown Tundra so I have both Urshifu’s and I’ll be grinding the Regi’s 😅

@@kaylaporter4760 No, you don’t have to make a new Nintendo account or have online on the second account. You can enter the expansion whenever you want and the Pokemon levels will be wherever you’re at in the story. It’s an easy way to transfer Pokemon through HOME.
Pro-tip: If you're really trying to take of the extra seconds, hold 'A' or 'B' and smash 'ZR' through text boxes. You can also hold 'ZR' and mash 'A' or 'B' if you want to be able to choose the various "Yes" or "No" options instead of saying "Yes" to everything (such as the Pokemon Center tutorial).

QUICKER START: Once you reach the wild area for the first time, talk to Sonia, then you can go back by using the yellow ticket booths in the station.encounter the slowpoke as normal. Then you can do the DLC.

I just caught my first shiny, not even on purpose, I was just walking around and accidentally ran into a gible and was going to run from it and it did the shiny effect. So I caught it and named it Austin John because I caught it while watching one of your videos. I guess you're just my good luck charm

My first shiny was the day the game was launched, a skwovet that attacked me ferociously. It was a surprise when the battle started and I saw it had a different color.

I already knew this cause when Isle of Armor came out, it was confirmed the DLC is accessible the first time you go to Wild Area, but you are unable to continue the DLC story unless you beat Leon and finish Postgame
Plus you needed Kubfu at a functional level to beat it's twin with Aerial ace so it further slows you down that way.
It's possible to do urshifu with 2 badges. The problem is can't unlock gmax for it. But u cam Xfer to main for that.
I always thought that the 1st DLC was supposed to be played along with the main game anyway, especially since there is level scaling.

Somehow this feels like a massive oversight. They should have made the Peony battle a must-win, that would have fixed this
But then all you have to do is assemble 2 F.E.A.R. pokemon & you're in straightaway! There's bound to be a pokemon in a den or roaming the aisle of armour or the regular wild area with sturdy, endeavour & quick attack!

Here’s the fastest way I’ve come up with yet:
1. go to den 59 (it’s over in the grove area) then save. Use a wishing piece and reset until you get the purple beam. Advance days until a female cottonee appears.
2. Go catch a male roselia.
3. Breed the roselia and the cottonee at the bridge field nursery until you have three prankster cottonee. All of them will know leech seed from the roselia.
4. Buy a substitute TR from the watt traders. (It’s fairly cheap and you should have enough watts from when you were resetting for cottonee). If none are selling substitute, approach any active raid den and advance the day to force them to reset their inventories. Teach substitute to one of the cottonee.
5. Get a Leppa berry from the nearby berry trees and give it to substitute cottonee.
6. Time to battle Peony. Start with one of the cottonee that doesn’t know substitute. Use Leech Seed then die.
7. Switch in substitute cottonee. Spam substitute until leech seed kills (you gain more hp from leech seed then you lose from substitute and hail).
8. When Peony’s second gets sent out, switch to a random fourth Pokémon (Roselia or the starter both work) and let them die.
9. Switch in the second cottonee without substitute. Use Leech Seed then die.
10. Repeat step 7 on second Pokémon.

In case you didn't know, you can go pretty far through the island of armor dlc before being roadblocked by lack of champion status as well, though in order to actually get Urshifu you need the water bike. (You can go all the way until you need Hop in order to search for the Max honey)
Honesty when Austin John said that if you trade over your Pokémon to your main level it then transfer it back it will listen because your the OT, my mind was blown. I thought even if it was yours and level 100 it would not listen. This is why you’re the best Poketuber. It’s the details that’s makes you’re content great and why I keep coming back.

The Crown Tundra is like Pokémon’s high-roller lounge.
You actually can go to the DLC right after having seen the wild area cutscene - so you make just one step into the wild area and then go back to the train station immediately.
even though there are Woolos on the track, when you interact with the turnstile Wedgehurst will be an option.
I was planning to do an extra playthrough or two for extra legendaries, Type: Null, Urshifu, other Regi, etc. This is awesome.
This is the equivalent of being able to go through ultra wormholes before the first trial in USUM
*ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!*
This is for everyone who is getting the bike then going to the crowned tundra.
When you get the bike, go to the isle of armour. Talk to the npc that changes the bike colour, and she’ll actually upgrade your bike to the max so you DONT have to spend watts on it like you’d normally do

I did this ran a japanese playthrough to grind for a ditto in the Raid Dens. It can be done with like 2 days if you play a few hours here and there also enabling fast text and disabling battle effects helps speed up the process..

man that was faster than when I was a kid playing red and wanting to start the game with all three starters, it took so long to get to the point where you could do your first trade, and then to repeat multiple times, haha
You can go back to wedgehurst Station when you said there were wooloo on the tracks (5.26mins) ... you can go back to the station from the wild area you just can't go forward to any other areas. You can do this as soon as you enter the wild area. You have to click the green arrow on the track rather than talk to the dude. Hope this helps 😁
He meant you can't take the train from Motostoke back to Wedgehurst. You'd have to either go far enough forward to get the Taxi, or go back to the Wild Area station.
You can just click the green arrow not the attendant and it takes you back to the station and initiates the slowpoke event on a new game .... ive done this to get the new clothes card early
I've been shiny hunting Latias and have been a bit frustrated that it's been going nowhere, because I want to fill my dex too. Completely forgot that I had a 2nd profile on my Switch (that's in post-game even) that I could utilise till I saw your video. Thanks for putting this up!
you actually only need to do the beginning cutscene for the wild area. after you talk to sonia and hop and get the option to explore the wild area, turn right back around and you can go to the dlc areas

Once you get to the wild area and step forward into the area and have that quick cutscenes, you can go back and use the station to go to the dlc, no need to go to motostoke at all.
I know this cuz I reset my alt account 3 times to get 3 spare kubfus for collection reasons

Pro tip: you can take the train at the wild area station back to wedgehurst before the wooloo are cleared. the only thing you have to do is get to the wild area.
Austin, you don't have to go all the way to motostoke. Once you get the boxes from sonya, you can go back into the station and go back to wedgehurst. I just did that on a new playthrough too so that I could use some of the pokemon in the crown tundra on a new playthrough. If you do want the corviknight ride, you will need to go to motostoke though. I was able to get to the dynamax adventures without it.

Fun fact you just have to do the intro to the wild area then go back into the station and go back to wedgehurst then the slowpoke cutscene will start and you can then go to the crown tundra
I did this same thing that you do right now with Pokémon shield, I was about to go to do the dlc first, but after watching the vid, I will finish it and then go through the whole thing
Gonna do this for when I need more legendaries for competative battles, so that I have normal legendaries for comp and be able to shiny hunt for them!
Probably won’t be allowed to use most legendaries in competitive battles tbh

@Artist 4 Christ I figured it out thanks! I started a whole new game and got a suicune right after I got the bike. Now I'm trying to breeze through the story so I can get the box legendary and trade it for the other one
you can actually can get to the dlc before you get fly. as soon as you get to the wild area station just go back into the gates not talk to the guy and then the event with slowpoke can occur then u get access to dlc. but flying is pretty helpful so you should just do that
Quick update for those trying this - after attempting to catch regis with 3 badges, they’re all marked as “very strong Pokémon” meaning you cannot catch them. I was able to snag Kubfu and 20+ Dynamax Adventure Legends, though. Having a Kubfu for a normal play through just feels right 😃

And I don't think you can get the Regis either. I haven't tried, but to get to regieleki/drago temple you need bike to be able to ride over water
tbh I was gonna do this with another account so this helps. I like to get every variations of legendaries like Landorus and co, Kyurem, Necrozma, and now Calyrex with his steed. Thank you Austin John.

I did this with my second cartridge to get the other regi and horse as well as another Kubfu, the only issue I ran into was when it came time to actually catch Calyrex, he literally won’t let you catch him till you’re the champion so just FYI if you’re going after the other horse you’ll have to be champion.

Actually, I read that text and the train clerk says you can go back to Wedgehurst but you can't go to Motostoke, so you don't need to do the opening ceremony. Still did it because the fast travel is very useful in Crown Tundra once you trigger the Terrible Titan quest as the temple doors become fast travel points. ^_^
The Professor Oak Challenge is so much easier despite all the new mons available before Milo in both DLCs because the crown tundra added the dynite ore trader and she can give you EXP XL candies before milo which saves a boatload of time when levelling your mons up

Start Pokemon HOME from your primary account/profile. While in Pokemon HOME, there's an option you can select to load data from different profiles on your system.
For Multiple Account Users:
You only need the box link from Sonia.
Then you can immediately head back to Wedgehurst Station, but you WILL need to catch the Slowpoke in order to go to either the Crown Tundra or Isle of Armor.
Once you're in the IoA, the Pokemon are relatively low levelled, then there's the Crown Tundra which is intended to be late/post game content.
Ok but something cool about this is that the raid dens are still your level. so you can get crown tundra pokemon in raid dens for playthroughs if you wanted to

Anyone else have a absurdly hard time with Zygarde?
I defeated it first try, but I misclicked and didn't catch it. I don't wanna battle it again honestly since it was tedious
They shouldn't have given it Power Construct.
It was a pain with the NPCs
Trick for Zygarde is to game the flaws in its abilities. Wide Guard or party wide defense buffs are needed. Debuff Z and wittle him down to just short of 50%. Then hammer it with DMax Ice attacks and the most powerful you can manage. Leapfrog the Power Construct range.

You can go back and enter the DLC areas immediately after receiving the Box Link.
You can actually gain access to crown tundra a bit sooner, as long as you’ve been to the wild area you can go back to wedgehurst on the train and do it. You don’t have to fly there

I would like to add that if you are powering through the game to beat Leon in order to catch the second horse and regi, the beginning of Isle of Armor gives the Exp Charm.
Legendaries lost their meaning...
So do extinct pokemon like aerodactyl and kubutos since the crown tundra is littered with them

You can get meet all 3 normal Regis. You probably can't catch them because they are in the normal game. Raid dens seem to ignore level caps at all points, they normally protect your level by limiting the stars. But even if you can catch them, you can't get to the last one until you get surf.
