There's a huge plot pint you're forgetting when you do the Billy/Power Morpher analysis: Billy always had the potential to be a competent fighter. As Jason said in the first episode, he did exceptionally well for his first karate lesson. Trini then went on to explain martial arts is all a state of mind. As Billy himself demonstrates in his future putty fights, he definitely develops into a competent fighter even without the powers. In other words, the power morphers in Power Rangers don't really give you powers, abilities, courage, and skills that don't otherwise exist. Rather, they merely unlock your full potential. Billy's blue ranger powers don't turn him into a competent fighter, so much as take the potential he already had locked away inside him and brings it to the surface. The morphers are a glorified technological placebo, not a complete character replacement. This is further illustrated in the lines that Dan and Billy each say right before they grab the head. Dan simply yells out "Oh no you don't" or "Not this time" (depending on which fan sub you're watching). Billy, meanwhile, calls out "We need to destroy its head!" In other words, Billy charged in and grabbed the head because he was the first to notice that the head was his weakness! Considering that Billy is supposed to be the smart guy, I think that's totally IN character for him!
So, basically, the Morphers are like the Magic Feather in Dumbo, make you believe you can do it so you do. I can get behind that. I also liked his "Even Bulk and Skull could be Rangers" line in here, considering they DID become Rangers in the comic book series (and the board game)
Personally, I like your analysis on this subject, rather then Mistre Fusion’s, to which I highly and respectfully disagree with. My reason, I myself am in not shape whatsoever to perform these wonderful moves that these performers demonstrated during filming. However, there’s not a day that goes on that I wouldn’t dream of wanting to get myself in shape to do these things myself. Meanwhile, if I were to be given this Power (via Morphin) and perform all the flips and tricks while fighting monsters, even though I don’t have the ability to as a civilian, I say it’s a super power I’d be proud to have, regardless of what anyone else says. Just my humble opinion.
Perhaps "High Five" would've been improved if it was Billy overcoming his fears and having it pay off by tossing Bones's head into a pit. That and maybe have the Zord battle be in the Time Warp with the device saved. Zordon could claim that only the Tyrannosaurus Zord could be teleported in with Billy reworking the device.
lol Love your take on anyone being a Power Ranger as just roles to be filled. I guess that explains why Trini turns into a boy whenever she morphs into the Yellow Ranger.
My headcanon was always that the morphing process implanted their brains with an inate fighting Instinct and skill. Any training and growth is primarily helping them fight while unmorphed, which you do see them doing more and more often as the series goes on. It eventually gets to the point where they almost never morph to deal with the putties anymore, because it's not really needed anymore. They train and grow so the powers become less of a crutch and more of an enhancement of their own developed abilities.
For the past, 24 (im 30) years, ive agreed with the rationale that the morphers just enhanced everyone and never questioned it. This is the first time I've heard an argument that made sense to what exactly the morphers did and what it means to be a Ranger in MMPR
Well zordon did say that dispite jason, zack and trini having to leave that they would always be power rangers in their hearts. I feel this means that maybe their time as rangers had helped to awaken that latent potential by themselves but idk
Another great video the little spaceship confused me for years lol, I only disagree with the part about why the rangers were chosen to be power rangers and bulk and skull could be just as worthy given they both would be subject to the power altering their minds because the as it is true that the powers seem to eradicate or reduce fears and phobias while granting knowledge what it doesn't do is control their will and intent. The rangers are good and responsible kids who respect authority and wouldn't miss use their powers even when unmorphed, they also have a pre-existing friendship and bonds making teamwork instant and functional, the have individual pre-existing special qualities that are heightened when morphed, eg. martial arts for Jason and Tommy, brains for Billy, ,strength and coordination for Zack, athleticism and agility for Kimberly, Trini is the Jack of all trades, so Billy isn't really acting out of character by leaping into action because he can think fast aswell as being fearless while morphed, he wouldn't do it unmorphed obviously because fear would hold him back but he'd want to, bulk and skull have none of that, they do have heroic qualities/moments sometimes but they more often ran away and they were ultimately bullies who didn't respect authority and they would of deffinatly missused their powers, they're also bumbling uncoordinated idiots who don't listen, can't follow instructions and have no special skills to bring to the table. The power is just a tool that helps them get the job done, it just gives them a trigger and tells them how to fire it but the will and intention is still theirs that's why they are capable of messing up because anyone can know how to pull a trigger and still be a stupid bafffoon, or brainwashed in Tommy's case. What you need is a smart, disciplined, responsible skilled and coordinated team, having bulk and skull on a team would be a disaster, and I'm a bulk and skull fan lol. The comics delve into this a little more but as the events of the show are cannon to the comic the events in the comics aren't really cannon with the show, still an awsome read though. Anyways I can't wait for your next video as always, always look forward to dbd
I forgot to also point out that in Power Rangers, they were able to form the MegaZord in the previous Episode, but in Pressing Engagement for some reason the Rangers needed the Power Crystals to form the MegaZord. I've also noticed since watching Zyuranger, the Blue Ranger and the Black Ranger's personality have been switched around.
@@zeokingsilver Bones wants to get the Rangers to walk into a trap they see coming and have the sense to actively avoid, right? So the logical idea to get the Rangers to walk into a trap is to adapt the basic idea from Zyurangers: terrorize the innocent to force the Rangers to come face the enemy on the enemy's turf and terms.
I’m loving this comparison series and can’t wait to see more episodes dissected. You are really good with that hell as a fan of your DBD stuff this feels like a natural spinoff in a way despite being from a. Different franchsie
If we're over-analysing this, I'd argue the ranger powers don't erase phobias or make you fearless, they just... give people powers. Because that's true. Billy isn't afraid of Putties because he's just scared of anything, Billy is scared of anything, because he is a scrawny nerd, who can't defend himself. So naturally he loses that fear when put in a position where he can actually defend himself, but not only that, overpower his opponent. If anything it makes sense that someone not used to being strong like Billy would show off, unlike someone like Jason who already was pretty strong, so this power doesn't go to his head.
With Bones in the amusement park, I think he’s supposed to be destroying it? After all, to a monster, a day at the amusement park would be raising it to the ground after enjoying the rides.
I kind of feel like the giant monster should have been the first Monster that the Power Rangers encountered in the first episode of the series since it was adapting zyuranger almost shot for shot for America
It really says a lot about character development in the early seasons when this episode and the praying mantis one were both alluded to in Once and Always as Trini's character development moments, when dozens of episodes have happened since then within that same season
Love how you’re using the songs from the SNES game. I rented the Zyuranger series on DVD when it came out in Japan. I felt I couldn’t watch sentai until I saw Zyuranger (though post-2000 series were fansubbed for years)
As a kid, my brain somehow tricked me into thinking that Bones somehow turned _into_ the Giant when he was defeated. I think part of this was from watching "No More Clowning Around" first, where Pineoctopus spent most of his kaijin-sized time as Pineapple the Clown, so that might've messed me up.
I wish they would have used those bikes in Power Rangers. They were cool. Sure they used the Shark cycles in season 3 but I like those Zyuranger bikes too.
As a kid, I was very confused about why they only used the T-Rex to beat the monster. But I never questioned the time warp device looking a spaceship lol
Thank you for working so hard on a series like this. I just came from the first episode and now I'm a few minutes into this one and have already learned something new about a franchise I hold dear to my heart. Keep up the great work!
It would be awesome if Geki's sister wasn't dead and turned out to be the Purple Power Ranger. Back in the day I'd see knockoff toys of a Purple Power Ranger and I even have a tiny Purple Power Ranger minifig
My favorite part of these episodes: when Yellow throws the Skeleton's head into the fiery crevice and what they both say between the two versions. Trini: "See you later, bone head!" Boi: *"Go to hell!"*
Completely forgot that the Japanese famous Up-Skirt scene happened in episode 2. I do feel that Trini and Billy are the biggest flaws of this episode considering the Sentai Footage especially in episode 1 showed both characters doing things that they clearly didn't do unmorphed and thus, creating a misleading message of anyone could have been a Power Ranger.
a.) That bit about this ep's use of the Viewing Globe had me howling b.) "Zyuranger" is going to likely lose out on the Character Front consistently until at LEAST the Dragon Ranger arc, and even there it'll be interesting to see, because "Zyuranger" is a VERY different kind of Dramatic Narrative than "Power Rangers". Where PR is ultimately meant to be something like a Western Superhero Story, individual characters with colorful personalities where the Drama of the story derives from their personal feelings and wants, "Zyuranger" is much more an Epic Fantasy, concerned more with Broad Melodrama concerning The Future Of The Children and Family Bloodlines and stuff like that; it's also why the storytelling can sometimes feel a bit arbitrary at times, because like many an Old Myth before it, "Zyuranger" often accords itself to the fiat of Deities to get itself out of any narrative corners. For me personally, I find that stuff FASCINATING, but it does also mean the Zyurangers as individual characters rarely if ever feel that personally important to their own story.
One thing I liked about Zyuranger was the "fish out of water" sort of gags. But mostly, you're right. The gang seemingly knows all the children in Tokyo by a first name bases and just jumps from plot to plot with little personal stories to speak off. I do like who they have to earn their weapons and god-beasts as opposed to just having them... and I like that they do occasionally have a personal moment, but overall the cast is kinda "meh" as opposed to other Sentai teams. Hell, just compare Jetman (the show before) to Zyuranger as an example. The fighting portions of THAT show almost got in the way of the characters. Some shows just have a better casts who can do more. Zyuranger, as great as it is, has blandish main characters with actors who are passable but not outstanding.
I don't know if you'll ever come to this point, but the henshin of the zyurangers always bugged me watching that series all the way through. I wondered: why transform? You can fight just as well. You can talk and even pilot the guardians beasts. Yes, more armor and 'enhanced' weapons and such, but it came across as pointless the more you watched it.
Zyurangers continuing convenient deus ex machina solutions to problems such as guardian beast tyrannosaurus turning out of nowhere in this episode is definitely one of reasons I don't rank zyuranger all that highly among sentai I have seen This i know is not nearly the last time power rangers has a character doing something completely out of character when morphed due to discrepancies with their counterparts personalities, not that they never nail it in terms of applying a character the right spandex in the future but sentai does have the advantage of the suit actors always perfectly mimicking appropriate mannerisms for each character
It didn't make a lot of sense that trini had a fear of heights because in episode 1 as the yellow ranger toward the end she was leaping into the Zord. Even as a kid I thought that was weird
I thought it was Billy as the smart one being the one to solve a puzzle boss by aiming for the head, thus giving him confidence by showing him his strengths are valuable. 😂
@Zoid Gundum From Dino Charge to Beast Morphers they really go creative with footage. They take awesome fight with low importance into more meaningful moments of new show.
Ok, some of my favorite changes in PR: - Madam Odius being main villain - Beast Morphers final battle - Villamax being completely different character from his Sentai counterpart - Zeo and Aquitar ranger team up
To be fair, Zordon didn't ask Alpha-5 to recruit five legendary warriors or even five capable adults. All he asked for was five "teenagers with attitude." Maybe the way the Morphin Grid overrides the Ranger's personality is actually dangerous to the host for these powers, so they need to have a strong sense of identity. Somebody like a professional solider, whom you'd think would make for a better Ranger, might be at risk of becoming a hollowed out husk precisely because their training is all about suppressing individuality and obeying orders. Thus, "teenagers with attitude" are naturally equipped to resist the Morphin Grid and survive beyond their tenure of service. I swear I haven't thought about this at all, I just came up with that off the top of my head, lol.
@@mikesilva3868 Boom Comics (at least on start) really went deep into those characters. For example there is actual date between Skull and Kim. Something he would dream about except... she acted just his mother before the divorce. Just pretending everything is ok. Later Bulk goes full berserk on Kimberly for breaking his heart... when it was Skull who broke up with Kim. Comics are really heavy on characters... well they are more serious than MMPR01 with respect like one human to another.
yea the power rangers werent there to view ther viewing globe but alpha and zordon were, what do u think they wouldn't be watching when a monster was on the loose?
The biggest difference is that power rangers was trying to establish that they are a monster of the week show not one seemingly obsessed with kidnapping children like is Japanese counterpart super sentai is so the bits that actually show what the shuttle really was had to be removed cause it had the children in it that’s why high five feels like a mess when it comes to making a cohesive story with the Japanese footage
Yeah you're right about how morphing transforms a person to a large degree by giving them skills, knowledge, and making them brave even if they normally wouldn't be. But I think it's important that Billy wants to be a hero even if he's afraid to and Trini wants to get over he fear of heights. So the morphers do that for them. I think if a bully or someone with ill intent used a morpher it would give them power but it wouldn't make them heroic. Zordon has to tell them not to use the power for personal gain so that means it could happen. The brain altering power of the morpher doesn't go that far. The kind of person they are unmorphed would also later become important in episodes where they don't have powers and chose to be heroes anyway.
They should have made Zack the Blue Ranger and Billy the Black Ranger. Not only would it have fixed the awkward problem of the Black Ranger being black, but Zack was a lot closer to Dan and Billy was closer to Goushi.
while not perfect the episode of mmpr was still fun to watch tho the zyuranger one was better done but both good in their own way I liked the spell Rita used to summon giant Saban did get better as they went on
I always thought Billy being the one to rip off Bones's head made sense because I thought the point was that the smart member of the team was the one to find the solution to a puzzle boss fight, I didn't know that in Zyuranger the idea was that the comical member found the solution by accident by charging in recklessly without thinking and getting dumb luck as a reward for courage rather than winning through quick thinking performed by a genius intellect. 😂
Ya know Zack seems to have more in common with Dan than Goushi and Billy has more in common with Goushi than Dan. In hindsight they really should’ve made Billy the Black Ranger and Zack the Blue Ranger. Not only would it better match the sentai footage but would likely avoid the race issues they recived. Sure you’d still have the only Asian actor playing the yellow ranger but I think it was doing BOTH that got them heat, after all I don’t recall anybody complaining when they had an African actor play the Black Ranger in Jungle Fury
i think that power rangers was more going for that morphin drew out all of their potential just like it does in zyurangers, we do see Billy over the coarse of the season become more of a warrior drawing out his potential, it just wasn't said in power rangers that that was the case, zordon chose them because he sensed that they had that potential deep down and morphin drew that potential out of then as billy sort of explains.
I need to give this video additional thumbs up but the app only allows one so I'll put the rest here 👍👍👍 MMPR could have been great but, as this video presents, it was 110% nonsense. Is Saban to blame? Yes. Even second grade me knew something was up with how half-assed this show was. At least, 30 years later, the Boom Studios series tried to make it make sense.
So, I have one quibble to make about the analysis of Billy vs Dan. While I will agree that their personalities are incredibly mismatched, I'm not sure that disconnect between how Billy behaves unmorphed is so irreconcilable with the sentai footage. In a way it sorta makes sense that as a guy who is so physically helpless in his normal life when suddenly given the power to fight might be the most recklessly direct, lacking the practical experience to know any better. Also, because he feels so weak normally, he might conversely feel like he has the most to prove, especially in this episode where he not only ran away from the initial fight, but when corned dropped his morpher. As for the Zord downgrade, while the episode doesn't really explain it, I do think it could be maybe be implied that having been caught in the time warp explosion might have somehow incapacitated the other four rangers, or at least disrupted their powers enough to prevent them from properly operating their Zords. Or maybe being so early in their careers, Jason was just being overly cocky and just rushed in alone. Especially since as I recall another of the early episodes actually made a point of him needing to learn a lesson about getting help and support from others, so this incident could maybe even be considered indirect setup for that. Even ignoring that bit of contrived headcanon, however, there are still Zordons rules of engagement from the end of the first episode, specifically the rule to never escalate a battle unless Rita forces it. While in practical terms this is meant to handwave why the teens usually fight putties in their civilian identities and only morph when the monster of the week shows up, I think it could also handwave the rare occasion when the rangers don't form the MegaZord. It just means that the monster in question was weak enough that the fight hadn't sufficiently escalated to warrant the use of the large mech.
MMPR shows multiple clips of Billy holding the time warp device. So clearly, Billy got the time warp device out of harm's way sometime off-screen. Most likely right after he tossed Bones' head to Trini and she was busy throwing it into the lava. Just because we didn't see it happen doesn't mean it didn't happen. So clearly, it makes perfect sense that they would escape the time warp, seeing as the time warp device wasn't actually destroyed. This isn't a case of two plotholes causing double the confusion. This is a case of two negatives making a positive. It's like that time on The Newlywed Game where one woman said her mother-in-law was "ten decades" old. Then her husband made the same mistake and also said ten decades! They might have both been completely stupid, but they ended up being a match, and therefore, double stupidity means they get the points! These two "plotholes" work the exact same way!
@@autobotstarscream765 Mistarefusion was clearly of the opinion that these two plotholes combine to cause double confusion, not that they cancel each other out. I was simply responding to the criticism Mistarefusion made, and nothing more.
Franciszek Rychlewicz zyuranger is a great sentai never seen any power rangers adaptions the 2nd episode of mmpr Based on these clips looked awful in my opinion 🍿
@Zoid Gundum Typical fanfic type :P Like adaptation of Toqger where majority of story takes place in dream land. All monsters are nightmares or manifestation of human thoughts and memories.
@Zoid Gundum In that case costumes would represent personality aspects so team would change between them a lot so they could use best aspects of themselves to fight. --- I have interesting Zyuohger idea. It would take place 10 000 years into future... on alien planet and first antagonist... is human from Earth.
@@38procentkrytyk yes it started out that way but they got more serous over time but had to avoid being to dark to avoid getting in trouble with censorship people
I love Zyuranger, but anyone who says Boi is better than Trini can lick a frozen pole in Antarctica. While both shows gave minor character traits for the leads, Boi in particular is a personality vacuum. He basically is Dan's naive sidekick. Trini, on the other hand, seems to be the more rational one of the group. Billy might be smart, but in a book smart sort of way. Trini sees the big picture usually. On top of that... she's a girl who isn't an annoying super-popular cheerleader valley girl, something I could related too back then.
3:34 To be fair, there's no reason in Power Rangers for the ZORDS to look like dinosaurs, rather than actual attack vehicles like tanks and helicopters. It looks that way because it's cool!
I think the zords were built the last time Zordon fought Rita using things that were around at the time as a template, that's why they look like dinosaurs. And yes I know dinosaurs didn't exist 10,000 years ago and the t rex and saber tooth didn't live together but this is the best I can come up with. It kind of makes sense though. Zordon had the Dinozords laying around ready to go. Then he started work on the Thunderzords when he saw the rangers weren't making any real progress with Rita.
@@Acerthorn I believe I did say I knew that. I'm trying to justify a poorly thought through American adaptation of a fantastical Japanese show. Cut me some slack. The only reason we know the exactly year zordon and Rita last fought is the opening credits. You'd think there would be at least a cave painting if a fight like that happened on earth.
@@greatsayain *"You'd think there would be at least a cave painting if a fight like that happened on earth."* Not necessarily. They were fighting in present-day Southern California. Even if the Native Americans had crossed the Berin Straight by that point, would they have migrated south of present-day Canada?
@@Acerthorn I don't know the answer to that. How do you know they fought there exactly? If it's just because that's where angel Grove is now, that doesn't necessarily follow. Why would Rita attack a place with no people.
Really into sentai seen every episode of zyuranger its one of my favorites dont remember seeing the 2nd episode of mmpr just the pilot episode of mmpr and I only saw the pilot episode of mmpr twice and hated that episode, my substitute teacher had a piece of paper that described each member of bandora gang in english back in may 1993 before the pilot episode premiered so glad i am not into power rangers 🙃
@Zoid Gundum look I am not a fan of power rangers I hated the pilot episode and it was the only episode I saw and based on the clips in this video I am glad I didn't watch more episodes of mmpr 😎
@Zoid Gundum Tom Servo: Wow, you hardly ever get to see Jawas in the nude. Tom Servo: [as Mac blows a bubble gum bubble] Wanna see my spleen? It's pretty cool. [Eric pops the bubble] Tom Servo: Ahh! I need that to live! [a garbage can begins to shake] Crow T. Robot: Remember: When you throw away your Tickle-Me Elmo, you've got to remove the batteries. [Mac makes Eric's hands into an V-shape] Crow T. Robot: That's neither the church nor the steeple. Crow T. Robot: I think we landed too far from the movie. Jonah Heston: This reminds me of the summer my dad hit a deer. Tom Servo: [imitating Mr. Bill] Oh, no! [Mac's pale, skinny hand reaches for a Coca-Cola] Crow T. Robot: My precious. Crow T. Robot: Yeah, keep trying, music. This isn't that interesting. Crow T. Robot: That is some next-level beekeeping. Jonah Heston: It's a smart move. Distract the dogs with some Peter Cetera music. Tom Servo: Alright, this 80's movie has fulfilled its sweatbands-and-a-montage quota. Very nice job. 🤣
It feels weird. I rarely ever have problems with things people consider to be Deus ex Machinas They’re magic weapons meant to be wielded by heroes. Why wouldn’t they ally themselves with the Zyurangers?
How do you get the 8-bit version of the Zyuranger music at the beginning? Is there some app where you can put the audio through an 8-bit filter or something?
It's still kind of blowing my mind in that Power Rangers is based on the 16th season of something else. Like the Power Rangers season 1 costumes seem so clean and simple that it's hard for me to not think of them as being the canonical original, while everything that came after is a spin-off of that design, even though the costumes themselves are spin-offs of spin-offs. It's like being told the ice cream cone pokemon is actually the first one and bulbasaur came way later. Like even if it's true it feels wrong.
1:27 So how do you plan on handling the "Mighty Morphin Kakuranger" portion of this series? In that season, Power Rangers practically adapted Kakuranger in reverse order!
Yeah, I did, because that's a topic that works well in a macro-level review series like the one I did then. The way I see it, there's really no way to do an episode-by-episode comparison when the episodes in question have next to nothing in common beyond maybe three minutes of robot fight footage.
Acerthorn if he’s going to do an episode by episode comparison, he might as well skip past the Zordon era because none of the other series really work for that
Power Rangers should have implied that Bones and the Titan were some kind of duo, like maybe have Zordon talk about how Bones is the brains and the titan is the brawn instead only mentioning Bones? Maybe they could've gave the titan a punny name to go along with the idea that they're part of a team, like Bones and Muscles, or Bones and Chromes or something, so that way him showing up wouldn't be so sudden and stupid?
So Fusion, would you say that they did a much better job with the whole "timid fighter slowly learns how to fight" trope when it came to Ziggy from Power Rangers RPM? The channel "Power Rangers Official" has the whole season for free on its UA-cam channel, if you need to watch the series to see what I'm talking about.

Trini: "See you later, bone head!"
Boi: *"Go to hell!"*
As a fan of your original videos, your improvement is amazing.

@@MistareFusion zyuranger is a great sentai
15:39, I've always figured, that was the case. You just confirmed, that my theory was correct!
a.) That bit about this ep's use of the Viewing Globe had me howling
b.) "Zyuranger" is going to likely lose out on the Character Front consistently until at LEAST the Dragon Ranger arc, and even there it'll be interesting to see, because "Zyuranger" is a VERY different kind of Dramatic Narrative than "Power Rangers".
Rewritten plot: The astronauts from the previous episode are trapped inside the space shuddle and Rita is using them to lure the Rangers into a trap.
Despite Billy creating the communicators here, he can be seen wearing one in one scene in the first episode.
12:27 I'm pretty sure the panty-shot is a mandated to any form of Japanese media. They *HAVE* to do that joke
Maybe not as a category for scoring, but you should mention the music used in each.
Sometimes the bgm can make all the difference in a scene.
Zyurangers continuing convenient deus ex machina solutions to problems such as guardian beast tyrannosaurus turning out of nowhere in this episode is definitely one of reasons I don't rank zyuranger all that highly among sentai I have seen
This i know is not nearly the last time power rangers has a character doing something completely out of character when morphed due to discrepancies with their counterparts personalities, not that they never nail it in terms of applying a character the right spandex in the future but sentai does have the advantage of the suit actors always perfectly mimicking appropriate mannerisms for each character
I agree with you about the sentais 📼
I really enjoyed this comparison
It didn't make a lot of sense that trini had a fear of heights because in episode 1 as the yellow ranger toward the end she was leaping into the Zord. Even as a kid I thought that was weird
As a dumb child I just assumed that being morphed gave billy more confidence.
I thought it was Billy as the smart one being the one to solve a puzzle boss by aiming for the head, thus giving him confidence by showing him his strengths are valuable. 😂
“at which point Dora Skelton pulls them in to a Spirit Halloween store” LMFAO!!!! 😂😂
I can't wait for him to get to the later episodes, for Zyu2 will he look at the uncut Zyu2 footage and compare? There are some interesting differences.

There was a fair bit they did not use
The first season really didn't know how to handle the stock footage. While not perfect later seasons are more careful with it.
@Zoid Gundum From Dino Charge to Beast Morphers they really go creative with footage. They take awesome fight with low importance into more meaningful moments of new show.
Ok, some of my favorite changes in PR:
- Madam Odius being main villain
- Beast Morphers final battle
- Villamax being completely different character from his Sentai counterpart
- Zeo and Aquitar ranger team up
Well I mean, besides like Super Megaforce
Franciszek Rychlewicz but isn’t “Zeo + Aquitar” taken directly from Super Sentai?
Oh yeah the panty shot in Zyuranger.
Yeah that took me offguard too.
Nice pfp, who's the character and artist?
To be fair, Zordon didn't ask Alpha-5 to recruit five legendary warriors or even five capable adults. All he asked for was five "teenagers with attitude."
Maybe the way the Morphin Grid overrides the Ranger's personality is actually dangerous to the host for these powers, so they need to have a strong sense of identity.
Plottwist: In comics, Bulk and Skull become Rangers and save the team on their own to surprise everyone. Rita, Zordon, Alpha and rest.

@@mikesilva3868 Boom Comics (at least on start) really went deep into those characters.
For example there is actual date between Skull and Kim. Something he would dream about except... she acted just his mother before the divorce. Just pretending everything is ok.

@@38procentkrytyk interesting 🙃
Was a funny comic
yea the power rangers werent there to view ther viewing globe but alpha and zordon were, what do u think they wouldn't be watching when a monster was on the loose?
Super Sentai has a bigger budget then Power Rangers.
Zyuranger awesome sentai 🙃
I do feel mmpr did better with their characters as they tried to give each character time to shine
They should have made Zack the Blue Ranger and Billy the Black Ranger. Not only would it have fixed the awkward problem of the Black Ranger being black, but Zack was a lot closer to Dan and Billy was closer to Goushi.
it was never meant to be that
@@zeokingsilver Obviously. But it would have matched the stock footage.
As a kid I always thought the viewing globe footage of the monsters was from the past war with Rita, old recording of them.

while not perfect the episode of mmpr was still fun to watch tho the zyuranger one was better done but both good in their own way I liked the spell Rita used to summon giant Saban did get better as they went on
I haven't seen any power rangers adaptions📼
Maybe Zack should've been the blue ranger?
It’s funny to think that Mammoth Ranger was the “Warrior of Wisdom”.
i have a theory as to why the titan has a shuttle of his own in the MMPR reckoning of things.
simply put, he wanted to do the time warp. again.
It's how he teleported into action! 😁👌
To think if Geki's sister was brought back into play as the Dragon Ranger thus making the Green Ranger female and them not using JDF.
i think that power rangers was more going for that morphin drew out all of their potential just like it does in zyurangers, we do see Billy over the coarse of the season become more of a warrior drawing out his potential, it just wasn't said in power rangers that that was the case, zordon chose them because he sensed that they had that potential deep down and morphin drew that potential out of then as billy sort of explains.
I need to give this video additional thumbs up but the app only allows one so I'll put the rest here 👍👍👍
MMPR could have been great but, as this video presents, it was 110% nonsense. Is Saban to blame? Yes. Even second grade me knew something was up with how half-assed this show was. At least, 30 years later, the Boom Studios series tried to make it make sense.
Keep it going. This is great.
Well done my man.

i see you are also a man of culture.
Love it, Love it, have i mentioned I love it?
I know this is a bit irrelevant to this video, but how come you don't call yamcha yamucha in db dissection?
Yes, but Mistare mentioned that MMPR's mistake was leaving out the actual shot of Billy grabbing the device.
@@autobotstarscream765 As I said, one mistake covers up for another, like the Newlywed Game "ten decades" moment.
@@autobotstarscream765 Mistarefusion was clearly of the opinion that these two plotholes combine to cause double confusion, not that they cancel each other out. I was simply responding to the criticism Mistarefusion made, and nothing more.

To be fair, there's no reason in Power Rangers for the ZORDS to look like dinosaurs, rather than actual attack vehicles like tanks and helicopters.
