a hallmark of his career, always changing while staying true to his old self. it's all about keeping the fans happy. this was a great era in his touring life. love the psychedelic and experimental next phase in Sam's music. Ghost On Ghost was /is my favorite year, 2013. the 2017/'18 band was excellent, too. 2008 was groovy, tho. Sam was steering this group thru some real psychedelic changes. And playing electric guitar. Paul was in the band on steel and electric guitar -very important. That grew out of the Calexico touring.
