Thank you for posting this. So I followed the procedure and we are now in a safe place. I just had to abundantly spray WD40 on all the linkage articulations. Seems to work better. An the arm goes horizontal when I stop.
Hey buddy, could u tell me where is located the fuel rail pressure sensor on this engine, i have a mondeo 2.0 tdci 115, think its this same engine, at least it looks the same and my common rail is hidden and i Can’t find this sensor
Many thanks. I have a similar problem with my son's 2.2 diesel. The question is how do you get the electrical connector off to clean it? (Have freed off the linkage by rocking it back and forth) I cant work out if you press the tabs or lift them with a screwdriver.
Hello sir, I have an x type 2.2 diesel, and a similar problem, I disconnected the linkage and mine is free to move exactly like yours, but the other part doesn't move even when the engine starts, do you have an idea of what I can do ? Thanks in advanced.
Something improved after spraying the linkage with WD-40 when I put it back together it didn't play up again. However it is likely that a segment in the motor burnt out when nothing move. Thanks for watching
Did you spray WD40 on just the actuator end of the linkage? And was the wiring ok in the end? Thanks!! (I have a 2.0 D and I think this might be one of my problems.)
@@mechanicmatt871 This seems to have worked! I think I need to tidy up a few other things but so far, touch wood, it hasn't dropped in to limp home mode again! Thank you!!
Always impressed with your knowledge and diagnostic techniques 👍 hope your keeping busy Matt and making a living.

Looking forward to watching V6 X-type diagnostics video. Great!
When I get one to diagnose thanks for watching

Good job sharing
Nice deduction 👍
I've changed the actuator motor on a Ford mondeo (same engine) and i was told they are common to fail so probably start to fail again in future.
It may have a burnt out segment on the motor from the linkage not moving. Thanks for your comment

Actuator problem?
If only you could check my Jag out, I’ve had constant issues with it, and the diagnostics man can’t seem to find the issue, so annoying ☹️
Good video, very informative. 👌😁
thank for video
Dead spot on the motor?

Yes the linkage just needed freed
@@mechanicmatt871 thanks! I’ll give a try when I get home this evening.
