I'm just getting things in order to start my own trucking company with my own authority so I watch a lot of videos. But I have to say that your content is the most informative to get new companies ready for the industry
Thank you so much for your help. I prayed for some help starting my transportation business, you have been the answer to my prayer your a excellent teacher. But, I'm not going to stop with just my trucking division, I want freight ships also, tanker ships, container ships, and bulkhead ships. Later for the cargo planes but I want those to. So, thank you so much for teaching and sharing your knowledge.
Man! I'm really enjoy the content you putting into your videos, I can really tell you trying to help folks out here that are serious about this business. I got tuned into this business after a few acquaintances of mine asked me to help their friends get some insurance for their new trucking businesses. And I started learning about the business that way. And now I'm looking to get into the business. Do you have a Mentoring Program or a Patreon Membership that helps folks get started in the business? Please let me know cause I'm very interested. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this video. I want to get the KYU annual truck driving permit if you can tell me where I have to got online to be able to requested. Thank you
Great video! Solid teaching! Please consider adding notes or pics or something visual to add value to people who prefer to look at something to see how it all fits together. 👍🏻🙏
Hi David. Thanks for your well educated videos. Your teaching strategies are very much appreciated. Love the whiteboard! Professionalism and accuracy is seldom seen on UA-cam these days. As an Owner Op, other than the obvious FEIN, DOT/ MC numbers, LLC filings, permits, etc, is it necessary or a requirement to have a Business Licence? Thanks, Tracey
@@TruckingFromScratch Thanks! I'm working on getting set up. I always thought that with all the filings required, these were enough. Thanks for clearing this up.
@@TruckingFromScratch hey David im getting set up now I've been watching your channel for a few weeks now i have one question about this subject if i only plan on driving through the state of Kentucky and not the other states you mentioned do i still have to pay taxes and have permits for those other States?
dont pay em shittily, and dont require crazy amounts of experience and be willing to train well are the biggest things thatll make guys want to come to your company
Anybody want to answer this question? I started a trucking buisness I have my authority. I am contemplating on buying trucks and just hire owner operators to run the loads? I seen his cons about other people running with your authority but it seems like the best thing to do is hire a dispatcher and have them work with the brokers? Thoughts????
Hello David. Next week I will be calling DOT to initiate a Safety Audit. My authority is 5 month old. I know you spoke of Safety Audits in a previous video, and the company that helps you prepare it. Can you help me with this? Thanks
Interstate Vehicle Mileage Report (IVMR), driver notes odometer reading entering and exiting state, notes the highways and interstates driver, and miles driven in each state.
So we calculate the miles and they don’t hit us with a bill ? You say that because we do get scanned, so how will we know how many miles we drove through any of the states?
Hi, coming from the 6 websites every trucking business need to know video. I'm not able to see any download links to see that resource. I would really like to have a solid understanding of these things before I book a consulting meeting so we can be on the same page. Could you please tell me where to find it?
@Pinned. wtf u talking about. What’s the point in trolling me? He said weights for each permit except Oregon. I researched it already tho. Thanks for the info bro💯
Do you need a brokers license to broker your loads to other carriars? Or just the MC/DOT number and the know how? I always get mixed answers on this, saying the "brokers license" and "broker classes to obtain 'permit' " is complete waste of money and bullshit. Is a "brokers license" even a real thing in logistics? 😅🤔 BTW Excellent video and thank you so much for your tips. Great Oil too. 😂
@@TruckingFromScratch Thank you Ill keep look more into a brokers authority but the answer is still not clear if you legally need it. Cause you, as a company, can book loads right now, so what is really stopping you from booking a load from a shipper youve obtained and selling it to another company? From the research Ive done this far, you just need your DOT number to book loads, then i asked my company and they said i need a brokers license, but i don't trust them cause i hear the opposite and feel like they just don't want me to branch out. 🤣 If you find out for sure, that would make a good video. Thank you for your input and taking the time to break things down in videos.
Ok I want to know ho does Il know that you drove through their State? If you filled up in Indiana and how would Il know you drove on their roads to tax you on? Why can you say you filled up in Il and then drove in Indiana so you get a IFTA refund all the time? Lol i know this is not ethical and illegal but I just want to know the anwser .

KT logs miles
great 👍🏾 info

La Senda Enterprises can help with this!
Let's say I'm authorized to operate interstate, but I only operate intrastate. Do I need MCFT ? or IFTA ? or both ? lbs.
yes.
Is there any easy ways to get track of the miles you do on those states?
Do you need any of these permits for running a box truck under 26000 lbs non cld?
What about California? I believe they require a mcp permit?
Hey David, did you ever put that course out?
Not yet
Thanks
How do these states know how many miles you've logged in them and do they just mail you a bill or is it up to the owner to calculate the tax?
Interstate Vehicle Mileage Report (IVMR), driver notes odometer reading entering and exiting state, notes the highways and interstates driver, and miles driven in each state.
Is there a permit that an interstate carrier has to get if they pick up in a state and then deliver in the same state?
Do you have to report your miles to Kentucky, New York, New Mexico, etc even if you don't drive in their state?
yes sadly...even if you didnt do it in their state
So we calculate the miles and they don’t hit us with a bill ? You say that because we do get scanned, so how will we know how many miles we drove through any of the states?
