Wow what a drive. Kept it on the island with steady consistent pace, showed aggression when needed but also backed out when things looked iffy. Superb wet weather driving.
Rain 🌧 is great for newer iRacers like myself because this is forcing you more experienced set in your ways drivers to drive a completely different way. I am learning for the first time in iRacings physics and to me it feels better than the dry feel.
at 18:50 Jim tells you the safety license and rating of the car ahead, it was really nice for me to hear this because I added it and it hasn't even been released yet! 😃 The next release candidate / beta should have a bit more rain support in it, I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to read the release notes for all the new features, like reputation warnings and experimental fuel (if you're feeling brave).
Thats great. iRacing recently suggested they have not yet opened up the API as much as we might want. So we are unlikely to get messages, telling us how long till rain. Is that correct?
This race is legit incredibly difficult. You seem to pull it off like a pro though, hahah, very nice job. This weather condition is more challenging than actually having a decent rainfall and random areas are super slick and you can't really tell where those areas are by looking at them.
Great job Dave especially with that 1000 IQ move of dropping back and then having the cars in front taking each other out. Feel sorry for Martin though as he had a good drive but you jinxed him.
Dave...I think you were as wired as I have ever seen you. It was intense. The cool thing about these conditions is you had a lot of chaos that allowed you to get back up into battles. There was always someone to race
Hi Dave, there has to be a setting to put the HDR option for us on youtube, I have an OLED panel and I could see that you were using HDR because the colors were more on the green side , which means that the feed is HDR but no option selected on the player(youtube) for HDR.
Nice race! I was surprised to see my name in the grid. Tough conditions out there 😂 Imagine, I gave you a position twice. I spun lap 4 or 5, came back, made the three wide and spun in the same lap. It was the same corner like my first spin 😂😂 Oh dear, that was fun! Keep Racing!
Another great video. I’ve just moved my rig into my snug so want to go away from my curved MSI monitor and get a tv (as my daughter uses the room to play her Nintendo and watch films). What model tv are you using please? It’s a minefield looking for a good tv that doubles as a gaming monitor.
Hey, Dave. Perhaps you can make the standings at the top left a little larger. They can be difficult to see on a phone or when viewed not on a large screen.
The graphics on a damp track could use a ton of work. The spray going on/off between sections of track that don’t look any different is just weird. Really there should be zero spray on any parts of the track that aren’t visibly reflective with standing water. Hope this stuff gets tightened up a lot because IMO it feels great to drive on, just terrible to look at.
In light of how difficult this is, two questions: 1. Won't people start avoiding these races due to how big a hit SR takes, and ruin participation? 2. How big of an advantage is it to have a DD wheel in these conditions? I've got a T300 and get uncontrollable spins out of nowhere, and dunno how much is lack of skill and how much lack of equipment. Thanks!
hello guys i'm about to buy my first wheel but i hesitate between the T248 and the T300rs can you help me please ? thank you starting on ACC and project car 2 for now is the only simu i have beside forza 8
We waited forever for rain, it's fantastic. Now that it's here, I hate it and will not race it any further. Niki Lauder refused to race blind, dangerous courses.
I don't understand why someone would want to drive in rain...you are completely blind when driving behind someone else..car drives sketchy..wrecks everywhere...I mean if you want a challenge just go drive in a rookie race...lol
@@dalton-at-work maybe reasonable is not the best word i could have used… what i mean is it is really hard to race behind gt3 or gtp cars. May be realistic but i have to lift a lot and considering some people just don’t care and go flat out it will be problematic in races…
My heart was in my throat when you had the moment at 19:00. Good clean race as always.

I did this series this week. Won a couple, podiums too, loved it. Full concentration for so long you can't blink. But so amazing as a challenge

Are you generally a stranger to the racing line ? 😄
That flick between t8 and t9 is that slick irl, too
Thanks for the shout out Dave.

I love that there is now a formula license split. Will get me to race a lot more formula cars (without needing another account).

Came here to ask abou this. How to make this work? Thanks

Great video! Re the OLED just ensure energy saving is off (if it's LG!) as that will kill the brightness.
Good to check windows HDR brightness settings too
I enjoyed watching this. I didn't know Summit Point was in a game. I'm 90 minutes from Summit Point and spectated there a few years ago..
Just been racing this same race this evening. Really enjoying it. And the rain hasn't brought as much cargange as I was expecting.
Great job Dave especially with that 1000 IQ move of dropping back and then having the cars in front taking each other out. Feel sorry for Martin though as he had a good drive but you jinxed him.
Man replays were one of the best ever, love it
Conditions just tricky enough to melt your Brain Pan 😂
Nice job Dave!👍
Gordon banks would’ve been happy with that save mate!
Great race Dave
Superb racing 👍🏻🏁 Looking forward to hopefully trying this race later in the week.

Good to see the Net Code was on point. Pity they didn't put as much effort into fixing the neck code as they did implementing the rain.

This was recorded SDR but the Elgato tone mapping is terrible.
Dave: Everyone alight?
Us: We're good, keep pushing.
Dorothy: I hurt my knee.

12:20 lol that also happens to me all the time, I guess thats a problem you dont have with a monitor
I don't have this problem on my lg oled. Do you have eco mode on?
Is this race fixed setup?

Your backing out and pointing to the head 😂😂 no better feeling when that happens
Back on the old smurf account I see Dave and we know it wasn't an intended Mac from the Back!
I can't believe how forgiving wet grass is in Iraining
Dont forget to change the channel in the middle of the race, Dave! That remote shennanigans had me laughing :D
Hey, Dave. Perhaps you can make the standings at the top left a little larger. They can be difficult to see on a phone or when viewed not on a large screen.
great driving. if your EEG ever looks like your throttle trace in this race please see a doctor lol
so does this mean that they fix the oversteering issue on dry? clearly they didn't leave that issue for wet weather.

What’s it look like on the 49in tv

Oho....I absolutely *_had_* to see this.
3 Wide in open wheels ! Hold your breath !
You need a round wheel for this
Did they fix the grass? finally looks like you don't go iceskating
Yes much better now 😁
I thought these were paddle shift?
This springs sounds like it will be very wet on iRacing.
Love the content, as usual. However, 8:10 that was a tad bit insensitive…😅

F for Martin
that save tho

don't feel that bad after watching you lot
4K it might be but neither my screen is nor my eyes... :)
Still Smurfing, though you was finished with that.
How is it surfing? Same split, just a few hundred iracing difference
@@davecamyt I’m just pulling your leg. 😅
I enjoy the racing on both accounts. 😁
Dave next time pls show your new view on screen
Chat do makes iRacing
Car #7 running a very questionable livery
Nazi racers f- off.
Red baron I think
That JD Rodriguez is the biggest whiner I've ever encountered on iRacing.
A bit of a shame that the image we see is awful compared to your camera
Yep that's the rubbish Elgato tone mapping. I'll.probably just run it without HDR until I come up with a workaround
I like watching your content on my tv. Your overlays are to far from the edges and top and bottom. Keep up the great work
Too far from the edges?
To close I am sorry should have proof read lol
I really don’t enjoy the rain at all.
I like the added challenge
I don’t enjoy it because I’m atrocious in it😂
Skill issue
4 incidents in the wet and massive SR loss. iRacing SR is broken
SR is only partially affected by the last Race.
The in an attempted qual didn't help 🫤
Learning curve. Eventually after the small percentage of drivers get it they will dominate everyone else.
Just like in real life@@mrj3217

So close 😁

It’s realistic, irl racing drivers have to deal with those conditions and what sim racer doesn’t want to be an IRL racing driver?
At least the spray is reasonable with those cars… 🫡👊
what car is it not reasonable?
