Your lesson answered the question about playing with another guitarist. I’ve consistently had a difficult time with timing (even with a metronome). So, playing with another guitarist will be difficult. I would truly dislike frustrating the other player. Thank you.
This is very good John. For the beginner, or for someone who has been playing for a long time, it is good to step out of the comfort zone and learn whatever chords you know in other positions on the neck. There are many benefits in doing this, much of which you've explained and I'd like to add that it will help a person to learn the notes on the fretboard while they're searching for the notes of a given chord up the fretboard.
