About the cheat terminal. While the door to synth Shaun is locked, you can use the cheat terminal to either open the door with the “unlock nearest” command, or use the position command to clip past the door into the room. Both of these are under the “game alterations” tab with the position command being under “world manipulation” If you do, the game will let you talk to Shaun and that sequence of talking to Shaun and father will proceed as normal. Fun fact, if you have the cheat terminal you can do this at ANY point in the story, and it’ll work as I’ve you’ve played the main story up until that point, however I don’t know the potential side effects to the game world if you do that. EDIT: If you use the cheat terminal to break into father’s room, and continue the main story that way. There are some weird side effects. If you reject/kill father and make your way back to the relay, the game will think you entered the institute for the first time and start father’s intercom speech, and lock the relay. I think you can get around that by talking to father, agree to stay with the institute, go back to the relay via elevator. When father starts to speak on the intercom, go back to the elevator take it down to the institute THEN kill father. Go back to the relay and use the cheat terminal to open the door. It should teleport you out and complete the institutionalized quest. How the game will act after that IDK. I just tested up to that point.

You know this makes me seriously wonder, why the hell isn't this in the game by default? With how much bethesda LOVED melee weapons in this game making more of them then fire arms, you'd think there would be goofy ass weapons like a frying pan.
Something for future use in melee builds: You can actually get a base melee of 11 without the Strength Bobblehead. Walk out of the Vault with 10 Strength, then take some Day Tripper before you read the "You're SPECIAL" book. Day Tripper provides a temporary -2 debuff to Strength, putting your Strength at 8. Since your Strength is now under 10 you to read the book to increase your Strength, which will set it to a debuffed value of 9, which will then get set to 11 when the debuff wears off. If you then get the Strength Bobblehead, you can have a base Strength of 12 with no cheats or glitches. You could argue it's an exploit, and I'd see where you're coming from, but I see it as just using the game's mechanics. Chems and the "You're SPECIAL" book affect your stats. It's what they do. Is stacking chems, alcohol, Dirty Wastelander, and Yao-Guai Roast an "exploit" because it buffs your melee damage to a point where you can one-tap God? Is using the Flamer while under the effects of Jet an "exploit" because it gets way more ticks of damage when used that way? I'd argue them all as not being exploits, but just playing the game with a build's effectiveness in mind. An "exploit" is something you're genuinely not supposed to be able to do, like VLC Clipping to bypass the Pip-Boy. Getting a high Strength score isn't supposed to be impossible. I'm fully against using item duping and debuff stacking to use the "You're SPECIAL" book multiple times to achieve an absolutely ludicrous Strength score, though. You're not supposed to be able to use the "You're SPECIAL" book more than once, and item duping is 100% an exploit.

I had an (what I thought was) interesting idea for a mod run. There's a Fallout 3 mod called Character Traits by SethCreiyd. One of the traits is called Giant which gives +9 Strength and 50 Unarmed and Melee damage while also upping your character scale...at the cost of lockpick, sneak, science, small guns and energy weapon skills all being locked to 0. Given your fondness for melee builds, I thought it could be interesting to see how the game would resolve with no ability to use a solid number of skills.

There’s already a rolling pin, where’s the frying pan bethesda!!!!
6:24 missed opportunity to say "his defeat was seared"
Something for future use in melee builds:
You can actually get a base melee of 11 without the Strength Bobblehead.
Foodies: Um, it's a Skillet not a pan- there's a difference.
Normies: Who cares, everyone knows what a frying pan is...
Hillbillies: CORNBREAD!!!!
Interesting how frying pans negate teleportation
I just love the imagery of a deranged chef with a frying pan whacking on a vertibird causing them to fly away in fear only to tear the BOS left on the ground apart as the horrified crew of the vertibird watches from above.
Missed opportunity to make Rapunzel from Tangled
This whole videos concept is my pathfinder character a ork who is curesed not to use weapons so I was using a frying pan before it became a hafling wepon after I swapped to bricks
You could also have made your character female and named her Repanzel, which is both a reference to the movie Tangled, and is also a good pun at the same time!
Also did you ever use your trusty frying pan as a drying pan?
The slow walk up to skinny Malone and that finisher, was the Greatest thing I have ever seen.
Man, that ItsJabo shoutout made me realize that the Fallout community seems pretty close knit. I’ve been watching you, him, and TomatoAnus (also known as Dongus Minimus) and seeing a lot of references between the three is pretty cool.
Suggestion: Can you beat fallout 4 as Senator Armstrong?
I really wish this had Pizza Time very silently in the background through the whole video.
The censorship should’ve been the pan strike sound but a classic bleep is always good.
Can you beat Fallout 4 as a Russian Spy?
Weapons:
Handmade Rifle(Its an AK)
The deliverer (it's a Walter pph which is what the Makarov copied)
Molotovs(weaponized Vodka)
Fists
Armor:
Submariner Uniform
Gasmask with goggles
Ushanka (you will need a mod to wear both head accessories)
Tasks:
Help the Bobrov brothers
Help your fellow Soviet in the sub
ALWAYS have the effects of vodka
Play with russian voice acting(optional)
When it's an option nuke it.
Alternative title: "Can You Beat Fallout 4 As a Scout Main?"
Power armor would of made a good iron chef joke
13:33 The menacing aura radiating from that walk while holding a frying pan and wearing a Chef's Hat. You made 47 proud with that one. :P
When your about to go to bed but you see a nerbit video you’ve seen many times before:
Before I forget: Nerbit if you need to power level in sanctuary try wood shelves instead of fence posts. Less walking as they can stack
So now you beat Fable as Master Chief and Fallout 4 as Master Chef. Thats what I call perfection...
I’m pretty late but there is a mod called “Quest manipulation program holotape” it will reset complete stop and start quests
Wow this "Can you beat Fallout 4 as The Gourmet" run is great!
ik this is a year old but the pan noise made me laugh everytime
"Completely disarms the Raider". LOL. Pun Of The Day.
I would love to see Nerbit use blitz in a melee style playthrough like this.
I really need this mod for skyrim, with custom voice lines for the Fire Breath and Unrelenting Force shouts. I need to hear gordon ramsey scream "IT'S....FUCKING...RAW!!!" As a massive blast of fire comes from his mouth while he brandishes a bloody frying pan at Alduin.
That sound effect gave me flashbacks to Left 4 Dead 2 and TF2's Demopan
I count this as an unofficial win
I really enjoyed this one, and I never thought I'd hear the words "impaled with a frying pan". Thanks for the vid dude.
That sound activated neurons in Nerbit's brain so many times during this run. And who could blame him?
"Can I beat Fallout: New Vegas as the Demopan?"
I almost felt like the video card should have been Flyns body from Tangled because those are the vibes I am getting here. Loved the run though
