  • Simple Walk through of how to change the engine oil on a 2019 Silverado 6.6L Duramax L5P.
    The engine calls for 10 US Quarts of 15w-40 diesel engine oil and the factory oil filter is Ac Delco part PF2232.

    Man. I watched this entire video. I appreciate not cutting out all the crappy parts. And I was laughing my ass off when the wind kicked up, and the funnel over flowed. 😂. That’s part of it. Good vid!

      Thank you sir!!! 😂 lol I knew someone would get a kick out of the hurricane wind part haha all over my face it went! I’ve yet to find a funnel that fits properly. Thanks GM Engineers 👨‍💻

    Put a piece of hose on your large funnel. Tape it on with some electrical tape if you are afraid it might fall off. 18” section of used garden hose should work fine.

    You should change your oil and fuel filter at the same time

    A lot of heavy equipment manufacturers say not to pre fill the filter because contamination can occur when you pre fill

    I made it to the funnel, then I just could not watch anymore, I hope it worked out

      Thanks for watching!! Basically after the funnel there was a nice puddle of oil to clean up.😂

    Thanks for the video. Two sets of hands helps with adding oil. No spills here.

    That’s the reason I was watching to see what kind of funnel you use. That green one, I think I’ll buy one like that and cut the stem a little shorter, I spilled mine too. My engine has always sounded excellent but I used rotella t6 this time and now I have the typewriter tick.

      Hey man thanks for watching! I wound up getting a longer oil funnel that actually works a lot better than the “green” one I attempted to use and it works out pretty good now.

    Get a Form-A-Funnel to catch the oil when you crack the filter. A large trash bag also works.

      Thanks for the tip!! Scott Link uses a pice of tin foil and that seems to work out well. Going to try that on the next oil change.

    Stop with the stupid cat filters
    PPE makes a filter that's better and a direct replacement

    • @xlandscaper
      @xlandscaper  3 роки тому

      PPE does make a great filter that increases oil capacity by about a quart, and has a anti drain back valve (cat does not) however regular oil changes with the oem filter will be just fine for long term average person use

    Rotella T6. Why would you use an inferior product?

    • @xlandscaper
      @xlandscaper  2 роки тому

      Rotella has higher zinc additives. I still use Mobil Delvac in the truck and Rotella in my equipment

    did you ever cleaned the engine flush it before?

    • @xlandscaper

      I’m not 100% sure what you are asking.. flush it as in run a detergent (transmission fluid) through the oil?

    Use tin foil under filter
