  • Emmy-winning actor, comedian and singer Leslie Jordan died unexpectedly on Oct. 24 at 67 years old. CBS News correspondent Anthony Mason had just visited him in Nashville two weeks prior to chat about his life, career, becoming a viral internet sensation during the pandemic, and his recent pivot to country music. They met up for what would be Jordan's final sit-down TV interview at Nashville's Sound Emporium Studios, where he recorded his debut gospel album.

I think if he was here he would tell everyone it's going to be okay. He would want everyone to laugh and remember him as a good person who cared. We need to honor him by being kind to each other. I didn't know he had died until I got home from work that day. I actually questioned if it was true. Life is not fair. But Leslie Jordan got to go out on top and that is a gift. Take care of yourself .

Such a sad loss, I've enjoyed watching him since I first saw him on Murphy Brown over 35 years ago. I was so glad to see him cast as a regular on Call Me Kat, especially when it was successful and was renewed for a 2nd and then a third season. The 5th episode aired last week and I don't know how many he taped, I hope they were way ahead and that we still have some moments left with the enchanting and joyous company of Leslie Jordan, a beautiful soul that left us too soon😢💔

Such a sweet, sweet man. I never really knew of you, Leslie, until recently, but you are truly a person to emulate. That was, and shall remain, your true gift.

So authentic, so sweet, so funny, such a lovely man. If he did have an underlying heart condition, I think having his dear mother and one of his sister die this year, definitely broke his heart deeply. Thank you Mr. Jordan for giving us all so much laugther and goodness when we needed it the most. ❤

I probably had seen Mr. Jordon in countless shows and such, but never really acknowledged his talent….He looks so energetic in this interview, and now it is just sad to lose such a talent. May he Rest In Peace, and hopefully his life meant something to everyone.
