Just ordered, based on this review. 👍. I’d never even heard of this one. It blows my mind that such highly regarded films can have gone completely under the radar here in the UK. Thanks Ronin.
Thanks, Steve. I wasn't aware of the film either, but that's the beauty of boutique bluray. Jasper sharp does a great job of explaining why uchida hasn't been assessed in the same light as other Japanese directors.
@@leocoh89I just watched this and it is really, really special. Thanks again for raising the profile of this one. I haven’t got into the extras yet. 👍🌙
I have this in my backlog pile. I came across it recommended by a website as being excellent, so got it. This was a while ago. I’m never sure why I watch some films straightaway and others just sit in the pile for a long time. I know I can’t always face a long film, so whether that’s it, who knows. Thanks for this review (which I’m late to see, I know) as it’ll likely push the film up the pile. Hope that you’re well and enjoying your local Fopp store which I don’t have any more, you lucky man!
Thanks Richard. I have the same problem but then if I just pick it up to watch, there's no problem. Maybe if you get a long film that feels long, it can be a chore to get through. Whereas a great long film can be immersive and enjoyable.
