I‘m a retired oral surgeon and (thank god) I will never have to do that, but ........ this was a morning Zen session! And for that, even though I normally hate music in the background of videos, this one was helping with the Zen feeling. I forgot to eat my muesli! It was a pleasure watching you, you would have made a good surgeon too. Thanks for sharing, colleague!
I used to work in a Subaru dealership and was always fascinated when watching the mechanics putting these and the 6 cyl engines back together. These engines are for the most part, long living and dependable.
Wonderful video! I`ve spent 40 years teaching automotive apprentices, and for me its a real pleasure watching a skilled craftsman work. Nice job on the broken studs.
Watching the meticulous attention to detail and the quality of the re-build, this is one man I would trust with my engine re-build if I lived a little closer (I'm in New Zealand). Top quality video; very impressed
The sound of the piston head sliding into the guide at 6:59 was too sexy... This was so friggin satisfying to watch! Thank you so much for making this video.
That's the only reason I like it. To see what those who love these cars have to deal with. Lots of O rings and small fasteners. Too few head studs too far away from the cylinders. A complicated engine with a million parts. Or so it seems.
Coming close to one of my favourite channels! Lots of informative action, good tunes and an impressively clean/organised workshop 👌🏼 Thank you, keep up the good work 🤙🏼
Beautiful seeing a real craftsman take pride in his excellent work. I love how he made it look so simple to align the connecting rods with the pistons to set the wrist pins
This video is excellent. I now have a full understanding of why there's always a puddle of oil in my driveway every time my friend parks their Subaru at my house.
Tools, equipment and skill. Skill being a very major factor. I learned that the hard way when i decided to replace my rear wheel bearings on my own. I know a guy with a proper shop that lets me work there on my car, so tools and equipment were there. Took me friggin 8 hours to replace one! Didn't have the time or nerves to start with the second. Had to ask another guy with a shop if he could do it, cause the other went on vacation. Came back after about 1.5h to check up on progress and caught him putting my wheel back on.
thanks for this video! it was a great help, its been 3weeks that i'm suffering from insomia, then i watched the disassembling and reassembling of the engine, I fell asleep at the middle.. thanks alot!
Curto muito seus videos aqui no Rio de janeiro, Brasil. Um detalhe que gostaria de ver era o fechamento do motor parcial detalhando o torque de cada parafuso.
They look so awesome when they are fresh (any motor). Nice vid. Good thing you didn't spot that O-ring on the table as you taped it up... Naa! just kidding! Great work!
Warms my heart to see engine assembly lube applied with a paintbrush. Are you wearing video recording glasses? Great sound! Music unnecessary, those cracks and clicks sound awesome edited back to back.
Pretty sure the camera is on his chest in the beginning and when he mounts the 3rd and 4th piston he has moved it to his forehead. You can see when he uses the flashlight to check if the lock is in place the POV is either too low or too high, to properly see it.
great to watch i have owned three Subaru outbacks starting with the outback H-4 Six Cylinder then the 2.4 Outback and finally the Car I drive know is the 2011 outback diesel Boxer turbo this is the best car I have owned out of the three I wish I had of bought the diesel boxer earlier thanks for the enjoyable videos very professional
Another great video. Have you ever dropped one of the gudgeon pin circlips inside the engine when trying to fit them. I guess this is one of the hazards of a boxer engine ?
Merci, très instructive. J'ai mieux compris la partie assemblage embiellages vilebrequin, je me demandais comment on faisait pour ce type de moteur (idem sur Honda Goldwing)
you can overhaul my 2.5cc boxer anytime , mind blowing Japanese engineering iv'e had 6 years trouble free motoring with minimum work just kept on top of things, I love my scobby
As everybody stated, nice, clean, some tips during the video would be appreciated, like the kind of red grease you put while assembling the pistons and crankshaft, or the sealant you are using as gasket , My Jeep 4.7 is beeing rebuilt this week, so ypue video is very educating. One more how do you get to have the block and heads so clean like New??
Very nice re-build. Well done. I very much enjoyed the two videos, especially some of your tricks and techniques in Part 1 to remove seized parts. Questions: How long have you been rebuilding Boxers? How many hours did this project take, from tear-down, parts cleaning/restoration, to re-build? Thank you. I subscribed.

I love when there is no talking, just getting right down to business. Great video series.

I don't even have a subaru and I'm in love with these silent videos

The developers of Car Mechanic Simulator have really knocked it out of the park this time.

Наверное не один я залипаю от данного ролика. Молодец 👍

This video is excellent. I now have a full understanding of why there's always a puddle of oil in my driveway every time my friend parks their Subaru at my house.
Awesome and you made it look easy if you got the right tools and equipment. I love the wrapping and boxer tape.

That is the goofiest looking hammer ever.
What? The one specifically designed to hit pistons into a block?
Snap on ! baby
Hi, very impressed with workshop and build skills...... is that REDLINE rebuild lube ??
Very nice re-build. Well done. I very much enjoyed the two videos, especially some of your tricks and techniques in Part 1 to remove seized parts.
