Can we have an episode at the end of all the shenanigans looking at the wear on the car? And then what you would change to make it handle these tricks better?
You guys rock, you're really putting out some inspiring WRX content!! Lol. Really though, the editing and shots were great at capturing this awesome driving. Love the top view, that was really nice. Seriously gave me a new respect for some of the stunt driving videos I've seen
Definitely needs more power or slippier tires to pull off clean on asphalt. Maybe a video comparison on tires for gymkhana style driving in the future?
Super difficult of course, I certainly couldn't have done it any better. I feel for those poor tires and drive train! But I think I can see what's a little bit off, especially the drone footage from above is great. The car slides past the cone about a car length too far, and ends up all the way over in the other "lane". I think starting in the "wrong" lane, then turn over to the other just before initiating the spin the angle approaching the cone would leave more room to curve around it and end up reversed more in the middle of the track rather than all the way off to the side. The pendulum would probably help spin the car around too, but that timing is the challenging part. But, I guess bigger risk of ending up in the grass and sliding into something, or someone. Definitely just as fun, but with less risk, on a slippery surface!
Ive been following the gymkhana series totally awesome and I so badly want to try some of these. The only comment I have about this video is why didn't you guys try a wider area for the reverse entry especially being a stock car feel like wider room and abit more speed could've maybe helped🤷🏻♂️ But other than that awesome stuff guys
Now this is quite the awd drivetrain abuse test lol. it seems like you guys are too reliant on the handbrake. Not enough flick. Pretty badass video though =D
Wet it down or pour a bit of sand and pump up the tires to reduce contact...or get a rental car 😂. Swap out the rear with old tires you're going to throw away. Soak the tread overnight in used motor oil or WD 40. Maybe try the pendulum to create rotation? Consider buying the extended drivetrain warranty.
I'd say this is more of side entry. You need way more speed to be sliding all the way from the cone while already completely backwards using that momentum it just hooks you around the cone imo
It looked like you needed more speed... and space. You were getting the car fully rotated in 1 motion to a 180 and then driving out of it... ideally with a reverse entry you need enough speed to be sliding sideways with the back tires slightly ahead of the front tires until you drive out of it. Definitely too much grip. Did you try airing up the tires?
Why did you not just attempt it in the dirt first? It is very easy to get the feel on dirt or snow first. Typing that as I’m listening to you say the same. Nail the technique on dirt, then move to tarmac
it's not even close. you're not rolling backwards, you're just doing a handbrake turn more or less. You must get the nose turned in front of the cone, engage first and start spinning the tyres before even moving forward. Block is literally rolling backwards and then when he engages power he must be moderating the brakes or something to get that lateral sliding going (similar with a FWD on the handbrake) But im sure you had a blast trying it anyway :D :D
That car doesn’t have enough power for this. (Oh you just said that while I was typing lol) You need to Scandinavian flick it while laying into the power my rally car can do that 2nd or 3rd gear no problem. Never downshift to 1st omg.
Forget the handbrake and put it in a big Scandinavian flick in the correct gear, and at 1/4 rotation you have to power on flat out. Practice on dirt first, the enter speed and yaw is more aggressive on bitumen. Americans,l don’t know. Car weight momentum gets the rotation, spinning wheel reduces friction to road surface. Don’t do much physics in US.
Sometimes it's 2 AM and you start to feel like Ken Block.
I love this series a lot. I hope it culminates in a mini gymkhana of your own :)
Can’t wait for the winter to do all this without eating up tires or breaking diffs haha
Winter is certainly a better time to try these.

Oh yes This!
It feels like if the car had less traction this would have went a lot smoother. This is so much fun to do on fresh snow.
Agreed.
Need to put 4 spares on it. Those skinny minis.
My toxic trait is thinking I could do this first try
You can do it! I’ve done it ONCE. Just go way too fast and send it!!

This is the stuff I love, something any1 can do w/no mods ❤️
Anyone with a spare car for when the WRX is at the dealership getting its warranty denied
@@wall7103 they cant tell.
Please do not try this 😭 if you cannot afford mods you cannot afford all the repairs and upgrades youll need to do this regularly.
AOS will be needed LOL

Thank you for watching, we appreciate the feedback!
I think at the end of all this we need a gymkhana style video linking everything together and edit it to look awesome.
If they don’t, I’ll unsubscribe 😂😅
love your guys videos. keep up the good work! would love to see a mini gymkana around the canaan course at the end!!!
I love this channel! Makes my sim racing so much funner
Watching your faces in slow motion at 4:28-4:34 is priceless haha!

I bet the CVT would hold up better……. Christ I can’t even type that with a straight face
😂
I think the gr yaris performance version with lsd front and rear would be the right tool for this series. sadly you dont get thes in the states
If nothing else, "Lets give it a try, what could go wrong?" Is a classic line that is not said enough.
Great stuff .
Thanks guys !!
Them you for watching!

6:46 unwinding the steering/turning the in other direction earlier here would have helped that run look pretty smooth

Try a one drift dirt and gravel slide.
A tutorial on how to completely hose your driveline.

How many engines did you blow trying this? 3? And how is 2nd gear still working?
Can you pull the e brake with vcd awd?
Did ken have locked diffs for this? Would it work easier on the lower powered WRX if you just added locking diffs?
I would guess not locked diffs, but limited slip for sure, mechanical or electronic.
You turn off the Traction Control Button?
Stock WRX is insane
I want to see this clutch lmao
how many miles?

this wrx is suffering 😆😆nice tries guys 😄😄
Double reverse is hard, you only saw it on forza by me in 2011

Looks like a rough day at work. lol.
The difference is the momentum is already in motion, and already losing grip.
I see Subaru had to be a sponsor since.. most likely several of them blew up.
From personal experience, learning reverse entry is much easier on dirt lol

When I'm playing EA WRC I do that on accident on a regular basis. 😀😀😀😀😀😀
"What could go wrong" Clutch is giving them the side-eye
