this is hanahata, aka 2003 Toyota Corolla, and i just wanted to say im very honored you used my music in your video :D i'll admit i only watched it for that reason, but you were able to keep my attention the whole way through despite me having never even touched a fatal frame game! i thought your comments were very insightful, and a few of the jokes got an audible chuckle out of me xD i think you have a lot of potential as a youtuber and im stunned your subscriber and view count is so low keep up the good work my friend!!
Oh wow! I'm honored that you found my corner of the internet and I LOVE your music. Your tunes have been my ambience for years now. I relax to your tunes all of the time. Im just stunned tbh, anyway, Keep doing what you are doing!
@@ScottsGameAsylumEven though Fatal Frame 5 Maiden of Black Water is a really good Game it's not as scary as Games 1-4 are and I also hate how They changed Miku from being so nice and sweet in Games 1 and 3 into turning so cruel and heartless for no reason at all and Her marrying Her Brother through a spiritual marriage is Eww why more perverted than The Game makes it to be.
i like how all the characters look like the models you see on posters at hair salons. whoever designs the characters must have really wanted to be a fashion designer instead
While I not the fondest of the gameplay repetition or the sizeable runtime (for a classic survival horror), the narrative is probably my favorite in the series, with an ending that hit me way harder than I was expecting. I'll admit, the end line in the post credits scene about living life even with the pain made me choke up, which was the first time that has happened to me since the ending of Max Payne 2 (for similar reasons). Great video as always, and my condolences for your loss, Scott.
00:48 yeah man it's wierd that these days long form videos actually works and I personally enjoy them more but overall I think a creator should make it length as much as it feels right. not overstretching it and over shortening it
I think what really sets apart the fanservice in this game compared to MGS4, is the fact the fanservice in Fatal Frame 3 is just a background thing to compliment the story being told. Like... These people are trapped with a curse that will kill them if they can't find a way to break it, ALSO turns out some of them survived their previous game, but at the cost of losing a loved one and suffering some serious survivors guilt as a result. The himuro mansion and the All Gods Village locations just happen to be here as fragments of the memories of these survivors. Meanwhile in MGS4, the fanservice IS the story, it's not just giving out throwbacks to past games, the characters are downright pointing them out, "Oh hey, we gonna need a virus that works like Foxdie from MGS1 to save the world!" or "The bosses are traumatized women that BTW are named just like the Foxhound unit from MGS1!" I'm glad I'm not the only one who came to appreciate the themes of this game, how it wasn't just Rei coming to terms with her grief, but rather a little collection of stories of how grief and survivors guilt has affected different people to different degrees of consequences, and some awesome spooky ghosts along the way, lol. Amazing video, you have some of my favorite humor on youtube right now! Keep it up!
I appreciate your earnestness and vulnerability. It's not something to be looked down on or feel guilty for, it's admirable. Great video, hope your salad gets tossed.
Such an emotional video, i always wanted u to make a video of FF3. I used to be a kid and watched my brother playing it, it really was way too scary for me to play it. I also like the fact that u think DmC is a cool game, im waiting for a video on that one too! I think its one of the best DMC on the series (3 is always the king)
Before i watch this video i just wanna say this and keep it short aswell: I was flocking in because of the silent hill news and now you gained a new sub. Outstanding stuff. I dont think i know a channel which pairs intellectual surgical disassembling of media with witty and nonchalont banter as well as you do. Awsome stuff !
Funny. Having discovered this channel only a few months back, I can confidently say I've blown through your entire catalogue by not. Good stuff mate, respect. I got a question though. What advice would you give to a fellow UA-cam assay maker who is new to the whole UA-cam thing?
First off, thanks for digging my stuff. It's still surreal that people take time out of their lives to watch my shite. To be honest I don't have any advice per say, as I don't think in that mindset of thesis statements and all that bollocks. I just call it like I see it, while peppering in some dumb jokes along the way. And most importantly, have fun with it. Just let the game talk through your own filter and people will gravitate to it. And don't worry about the numbers. Just focus on the content and learning by doing!
@@ScottsGameAsylum much love chief. Noted. Still can't believe how me reading a fucking collection of porno fanfics netted me 15 k views, so don't worry you're not the only one spewing shite at people (yours is at least fun to watch).
Man, that review really went places, thank you for sharing your story. I will say that when I get round to playing this for myself I *will* be thinking back to this video, and I *will* be a blubbering mess, though that was probably likely to happen anyway 😅
Yeah, originally it was just going to be an average video from me. But after the passing of that person mid-way through making this vid, brought a new perspective
@@ScottsGameAsylum yeah, it's why I'll always praise gaming as an art form because it lets you explore these kind of themes in ways that more passive mediums just can't, and for me at least hit ten times harder when those personal connections happen, and while I'm grateful for you putting something so personal out there, I understand and appreciate that it is a very real and affecting thing that has happened, and I'm genuinely sorry for your loss 🫂

They need to bring back Rei for a future game she deserves more luv
I dunno, as this story is very much her's but more Rei would be welcome
Great work dude . Its really tough to keep the audience sitting till the last minute

the length of the video is the length of the video, but sometimes i can overthink it and overtune the final product.

Nice, I've been playing Fatal Frame 3 lately. I'm at the 6th hour rn. I will watch the video after finishing the game. (The game is amazing so far.]
Please do! I would love to know your thoughts

This is really the silent hill 4 of the fatal frame franchise
This video went full inspirational speech 10/10
I played 2 as a teen, I'm not sure I finished it. Watching videos about 3 really makes me want to play it, but I'm not sure I care about 1 at all.
Don't worry about them, just play this one
Metal Gear 4, I've literally forgotten that I had played it. Screw the stupid flying boss.
yeaaa
Thank you
No, thank you!
