Thank you so much for doing this. I had people asking me to do this but I never found the time to get around to it. It must have been quite a bit of effort!
Very nice, normally on YT people teach how to do fancy buildings without any real functionality, it's good to have someone who values the efficiency too. Would be great if you make another video on the same manners for the max comfort room.
Thank you for your positive comment! I always try to build to maximise aesthetics and functionality, if I can! Also, I uploaded a “maximum comfort room” video today which you might enjoy - if you are looking for that!
Every timer I start a new game I use this building for crafting. I especially like the black forge and artisan table setup with the torches in the corners. You're very creative! I never would have thought of hiding the workbench and forge upgrades like you did. Thank you for sharing it PHINQS, It's one of the prettiest buildings I've ever seen for Valheim on UA-cam.
This build is the one I am most proud of and so, it makes me happy to see that others enjoy it just as much as I do. Thank you very much for your support!
Thanks PHINQS! Love mindlessly following someone else's build, gives me an excuse to explore the world and get a bunch of resources. I see a lot of people in the comments looking down on the practice. But it's common in all building games, just look at Minecraft and it's countless build tutorials. Everyone enjoys playing in their own way and I'm happy there's high quality, well explained videos like yours to support people who play like me. :)
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I personally enjoy build videos and use them myself for inspiration in my own builds. The issue is that, as with most of the internet, people like to shame others for doing things differently from themselves. It is exactly like you have already said - preference is everything. If you are having fun then you're playing the game right! Again, I appreciate your kind words. I hope to see you in future videos and that my builds suit you well!
I also play like you, I'm no architect and I don't have much of an imagination so I appreciate these videos. The more videos I watch the better I become at constructing my own interesting buildings.
I am very impressed. It's an equidistant central layout, although the overall shape is kept simple, so there's no tricky techniques here that will trip anyone up.
Thank you! I am really glad you got some value out this video as it took me a good amount of time to create. Also, every subscription means a huge amount to me so I appreciate it a lot!
GREAT tutorial my friend found this video few months ago and then crafted that setup at our co-op world and i love it then recently when i started watching Valheim content this shows up at my recommended
Thank you very much! I always love to hear about people recreating my builds and them being enjoyed by others. It is really cool to be part of those communities! Thanks a lot for your support!
Wow - that's a huge compliment. I have just made sure to take constructive criticism and improve with each video. There will hopefully be lots more to come. Thank you for your comment.
ooh, that black marble is PRETTY. I've not gotten there yet, I really must up my combat skills (both character AND player, lol), but I'm so looking forward to all the new building materials! The fancy metal walls, the marble (and new shapes)... Wow.
It is really nice. The black marble building components are so much better than stone in my opinion! You'll get there eventually with the combat as you get more used to the mechanics - just stick at it! You have a lot of fun still to have and that's a positive. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for that feedback. All the things you commented on are things I focus on when creating the video so I am glad that I have delivered the standard I set out to achieve. I try to find a balance between explaining things well and not taking up too much of people's time! Thanks again for your comment!
Thank you - it means a lot! I am very glad you enjoy the content I create - it gives me some reassurance that I am developing on the right track. Here's to many more videos!
Maybe this is your sign to start playing, haha! It is a really great game. I am glad you enjoyed the video even without playing it though - maybe I’m doing something right? I know how you feel though, sometimes I get sucked into build videos on games I’ve never played too! Thanks a lot for your positive feedback!
Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. I will do what I can to continue delivering similar or better content in the future! It looks like UA-cam recommendations are working after all!
This is absolutely brilliant. I have ADHD, and it makes space management an absolute nightmare for me. I can never get all my workstations and builds to fit together without feeling cramped, looking like shit, or losing functionality. But this build will give me the stylish, functional one-stop shop I've been hoping to make. Thank you for sharing! I've subscribed, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Update: I just spent several hours copying the build as closely as I could, given my iron-age progression. I swapped out the tiled roofs for thatch, the marble for normal stone bricks, and the fancy patterned beams for normal wooden beams. (NOTE: I think this makes the structural integrity weaker. I had to put in a central support beam and a middle iteration of the roof crosshatch in order to keep the roof stable.) I do hope to upgrade my workstation once I get the chance, though.🙂 Either way, it was a blast to build, and now I have all my stuff centralized in a convenient and deeply satisfying way. So thank you for the help!! 😁
That is amazing! Thank you for your support. I'm not sure why your structural integrity was poorer using regular pieces but I am glad you found a workaround. You can always upgrade as you unlock new items and gather materials!
I appreciate that a lot. Thank you for subscribing and taking the time to provide positive feedback. This is one of the builds that I am most proud of so I am glad that others like it too!
Spectacular design!! I would have to have a separate building for more storage or dig a basement.. yes i know.. i am hopeless :) I have a chest for every item available and i horde them until the chest is full.. so Yes.. i have 2 chests for every item :)
To be honest, I am impressed! That's a whole lot of hoarding but I won't tell people how to enjoy the game! I think you can definitely add another layer of chests around the top, or create a second level. Whilst trying to come up with the final design, I had a second level at one point with a spiral staircase between the artisan table and black forge. This might be a good way for you to add in extra storage on the second level. Let me know how you incorporate more storage if you do decide to build this! Thanks for your comment!
Thanks a lot - it means a lot that people enjoy the videos I make. Also, thanks for letting me know my style of recording is on the right tracks. Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much. It is really nice to get feedback like this on my videos - it makes me know I am on the right tracks! I am glad you enjoyed the video. There will be plenty more still to come!
Oh what I wouldn't give for being able to download builds like these from a gallery like let's say Sims. I suck at building in Valheim so much, imagine how awesome would it be if we could just download this and plop it down in our Meadows (for the mat cost, of course) 😃 This is a very beautiful and creative build, good sir.
I actually have my world files available for members of my channel to download in Discord. This build is combined with my maximum comfort room and blacksmith area. I think there are also a few more builds in that world file. I'm really glad you like the build! Thank you.
@@phinqs Thanks to your awesome step by step videos I was able to build the longhouse and the blacksmith's (albeit mostly out of wood), it was actually really easy to follow. Thanks so much, I can't wait for more build tutorials, you have true talent
wow that is a nice build ! can't wait to unlock the darkwood materials ! but so nice what u done with it ! also great how u cover up all the extra's from forge and workbench i love it !
Could you do a video on how best to defend this build, without using the moat and raised earth technique, for endgame in the Mistlands? Maybe using black marble walls, the bear traps, turrets and spikes? I think that subject would make a great video.
Thank you for the suggestion. It's a good idea. I think I would probably make use of the turrets - especially with the turret changes coming soon. I will add your suggestion to the list and see if I can make a video out of it at some point! Glad you liked the video!
I use wolves mostly. even with the turret changes. with no bat trophy you need the turrets open which means they will shoot you and your animals. wolves just work. In the mistlands it'd be worth some jarl turrets though
This is really cool to hear! I have a similar one in my survival world but the one in this video is probably nicer, in my opinion! I have a smelting/furnace area on my list of builds that people would like to see but I haven't quite worked out the details of it yet and hence, nothing has been uploaded. Hopefully, I can get around to it soon. Thank you so much for your comment!
@@phinqs Only thing I’ve seen someone do to reduce the footprint is put the furnace on pedestals and use corner 45’s to create a slide for the coal. Excited to see what you come up with. Keep it up.
Thank you. I am really happy that the video is being received that way. It takes a lot of time to create these videos so it's good to get positive feedback!
That means a lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and let me know. It is only fair that I share some of the tips I have picked up over my time spent on this game as a good amount of them have come from other players and have helped me personally. Here's to more easy to follow videos in the future!
Nice build! If you use reinforced chests instead, a tip that i do is place the signs on the vertical beams first, label them and use spacebar to center text, then clip the chests through the sign till just the letters pop. Looks a lot cleaner. Might work for BM chests too, but ive never tried
Great tip! I have actually seen other people make use of this tip but I have never really used it for a long period of time myself. It does work and look great though! Thanks for your comment!
You could have added some windows to the top part of the roof. But my major concern is no furnaces. You can extend the workshop out 8 m on each side for some blast furnaces and kilns. Although I like the idea of removing the center blocks in making a basement deep enough and doing the furnaces down there.
That is a pretty cool idea - to have the furnaces underneath in the basement. It is possible to add windows in the roof quite easily. I have previously put them on the front and back of the roof when testing this build. I plan to do a video which includes smelters and furnaces separately, as I personally like them to be separate from what is shown in this build and that is why I did not include them! Thanks for your comment and suggestions!
So this looks really nice, but how would you feed the Eitr Refinery flesh here without going in and doin some hopping to get up to where you need to be? Do you have a good adjustment to this to add an easy access port for the Eitr Refinery for adding flesh?
Thank you, I am glad you like it! The best way I have found is just to jump up and feed in the soft tissue. I know it is not ideal but it is quite a lot of work to incorporate stairs. It can be done but I found that you need to build 2-3 sets of stairs to reach the required height and that adds quite a large footprint to the build. I wanted the build to be as small as possible so decided not to add stairs. If you manage to work out a clever way to do it then please let us know! Thanks for your comment!
@@phinqs I added a 4x6 room in the back, made the roof level with the roof for eitr, made it of black marble with a window and a single black metal chest. I made a diamond opening of black marble to let me access the refinery and added stairs so my character is head level with the flesh adding spot. Looks nice and fits the theme of the back half of the building
I have always been interested in base building but Valheim was the first game to really get my attention. There is so much freedom in the base design and there are still new building components being added.
Love the video! very well layed out and explained well. One thing might be useful if possible would be to outline at the beginning of the video how many of each resource that will be needed for the whole build. Other that that looking forward to more build guides !
Thanks a lot. I appreciate that and it is great feedback. I always set out with the intention to track the required materials but end up forgetting at some point along the line. It is pretty difficult to do in hindsight on a build this intricate.
I built this and then discovered that it was going to clip into my house. I had to tear it all down to the foundation and move it three tiles to the right and start all over. I'm just thankful you'll get your resources back. 🤣
That is very annoying - I know how you feel. I normally build my builds around 3-4 times before making the build guide. It gets very repetitive after a while, haha! The resource recovery makes building in this game a lot of fun though. Being able to tear down old structures and build new ones as your in-game requirements change was a great quality of life decision from the developers, in my opinion! Thanks for the comment!
Hey man. Great content. I’m new to the game but have been trying to find a good late game all in one. Trying to figure a way to incorporate a portal room and max rest area. Love your work. Thank you.
Perfect! That is one of the great things about components of different materials being the same size. Being able to use stone instead of black marble in the early stages of the game is a game changer for building aesthetics, in my opinion! Thanks for your comment!
Challenge accepted. My next video will likely make use of starter pieces as it has been a while and I am aware that quite a lot of my most recent builds have focussed on end game. Thanks for your support, as always!
Thanks, defionetly will build this, it's really good tutorial but one thing I wish maybe to see in future is rough estimates of materials these builds take
I am really happy that you found use out of my video! A few people have suggested that I include estimates of materials so I will keep that in mind for future builds! Thank you for leaving positive and constructive feedback.
That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting me know. I actually built a second floor bedroom area whilst experimenting with this build but decided against it in the end. Did you place spiral stairs between the black forge and artisan table by any chance?
@@phinqs nope I build the stairs going up on the left side wall and a stairs for the basement on the right side area. Might edit it later since I forgot to put fermentors 😅 I did however had a hard time with the roof since going high will lower the strength/foundation of the roof but was able to pull it.
Great video! Could you include how much the total cost is for the whole build for us survival nerds thanks! Naturally next would be a portal, a dock, animal pen, or farm.
@@nightflash9692 I do not know exactly what the material cost is for this build - sorry! I will try to keep it in mind for future builds though, as I know many people like to know the material cost before they start to build. Thanks for your comment and suggestions! I have already built a portal hub which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/YQgAE2dueE0/v-deo.html
@@Mesmerdude This is actually a good idea. I had previously thought of doing a series of buildings that all compliment each other - similar to what you talk about here with a matching comfort room. I will see what I can come up with. Thank you for the suggestion!
Thank you very much. Unfortunately, I do not have an updated version. Although, the upgrades are relatively small and should have no problem fitting next to the Galdr table and on top of the black marble components at the black forge. I hope this helps!
Great build, have mede it in my world works a charm. One question though. Will you be updating this build when new upgrades are added to the black forge?
Thanks a lot. I am glad you are liking it. I probably won't make any video updates as the new workstation pieces are quite minor. However, I may make a new "ultimate" storage house when Ashlands is released!
Yes, you can replace the black marble with stone. The only thing to beware of is that regular stone does not absorb the damage from the eitr refinery and hence, may take damage over time. Although, if you do not yet have the eitr refinery then you will be fine! Thanks for your comment.
I like to place my upgrade stations below the floor. i dig out a pit under the floor stone. place them all then put the floor back. You don't need access to them and doing this frees up more space keeping everything tidy. The floor remains blue as you really don't need the pit to be very big.
I like this idea and have used a similar system in the past for certain workstations. However, I have moved towards a more "realistic" design as I have kept playing. Normally, the most I will hide are the workstation upgrades or the workbenches I use to stop the spawning of mobs.
just found your channel recently and love your videos. its gonna be awhile before i get to mistlands while waiting on my buddy to catch up and have everything but black marble. will it be stable if i substitute black marble for stone? i know it wont look as good but at leas for functionality i love how efficient this is
Thank you - I appreciate it. As far as I am aware, black marble and stone have the same structural integrity so they should be interchangeable. The only difference is that black marble has more "health" in terms of taking damage.
I usually create a community poll that allows people to have a say on what they would like to see me build next. It looks like the winner of the current poll will be a blacksmith area with kilns, furnaces, and smelters. Therefore, that will very likely be my next upload! However, lots of others are also interested in an animal farm and so, it is likely I will build one of these in the near future too. Thanks for your comment.
I love your builds and have done them or similar things using your ideas, such as hearths between floors, in quite a few of my bases. So thank you. I have done a couple of play throughs as the first time I used mods so now trying it vanilla and solo, it's not as easy as some make it look. Are you looking at doing a new or revised build for the Ashlands update? I think the new build pieces and your ideas would create something amazing. It will probably be ages before I get there, I am still trying to cope with the Mistlands and getting my butt kicked on a regular basis.
Thank you! It is always nice to hear that people like my builds. I have almost 1000 hours in the game and I still struggle with the normal difficulty. It is definitely not as easy as some people make it look. I am currently editing another "ultimate workshop" which should be uploaded this week. It features new build pieces and a full ashlands-tier workshop and comfort room. If you are ever looking for other players to discuss the game with or even play with, feel free to join my Discord server. We are always happy to meet new players!
That’s great to hear! I’m glad you liked the build enough to recreate it. It makes sense to use stone until you discover the late-game materials. Thanks for the support!
I am really glad you liked the video! I have not counted the material cost personally but I believe someone else has done it and commented the list. Hope this helps!
Very nice build just wish I had room for a bed lol I might alter it add a room for bed but looks great I been struggling with storage so bad I have stuff everywhere thanks
You should check out my "maximum comfort room" build. It shows you how to build an additional room adjacent to this build for all your comfort needs. It sounds like you would enjoy it. Thanks for your comment!
I have previously attached a comfort room to this build and placed it in there. However, if you are talking about this build on its own, I would probably take out some of the storage along the walls and create a booth for the spinning wheel. I hope this helps!
Honestly, I just made up the labels for this video so I am not sure they would be much use. Normally, I have a good few chests for building materials (I'm not a big fan of storing them all in log/stone piles, for example). With all the other items, I start by using groups like "animal pelts" and "raw materials" and then afterwards, I will start to give each individual it's own chest - or split a chest between two items. Hope this helps but I'm not too sure it will. Thank you for all your support on my videos!
I actually demonstrate how this can be done at the end of the "Maximum Comfort Room" video but in short, you create an opening in the wall of the comfort room and connect it to the entrance of the storage house. The front wall of the storage house becomes the right-hand side wall of the comfort room. The rest of the build should fit together with minor changes. Hope this helps!
I have a few starter bases on my channel that are a decent size - meaning that you shouldn’t have to make too many changes as you progress throughout the game. This specific build can be built with the standard wood pieces and stone rather than black marble, if you haven’t unlocked some of the pieces. Thanks for the comment!
@@dazkaz15 Yes, it could definitely work. Everyone has their own way of playing - personally, I like to spend some time building a fairly large base at the start and upgrading the materials as I progress. That way I typically end up with a more structured build. Although, there is no wrong or right answer! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you. This was all built in the vanilla version of the game. If you do not recognise the roof components, you will likely still need to unlock them in game! Good luck.
This is a good idea. Do you mean a build that incorporates the spawn point? I will add it to my list and hopefully can get around to creating a video on it. My first thoughts are a circular build similar to my portal hub that surrounds the spawn stones. I would be interested to see anything that you create.
@@phinqs building or just decoration. I've been trying to manage building destroyed castle look around it. A portal room might be a good idea. Just very difficult to work around due to the force that stops you. I'd like to see what your ideas are because your a God builder. I've used a few of your small designs slammed together for my long house lol.
Good question. It should not. The support from the black marble at the rear of the build should support the roof. If you are having issues, make sure all your foundation pieces are blue when you hover over them with the hammer. If they are all fine, build the roof from the rear of the structure first!
I would probably start with checking that the foundation pieces are coloured blue when you hover over them with the hammer. This will ensure they are in contact with the ground and as strong as they can be. I think with this build, I had to start the roof from the back of the build as it is better supported by the stone/black marble pieces. I can give you a little bit more guidance if you are happy to join my Discord server. You can share screenshots and I can have a look to see if I notice anything strange. I am sure others will try to help too. There are many people in the server that have already built their own version of this. Hope this helps!
I guess that means you are planning to build it! A lot of people do not find enjoyment in the building aspect of Valheim but it completely makes the game what it is, in my opinion. I love grinding for materials in survival and coming up with interesting bases to spend my time! Thanks for your comment and good luck with farming the materials!
Thank you! I plan to incorporate a smithing area into another build that could go alongside this but I agree, smelters are definitely required somewhere close.
I am not entirely sure what you mean. If you are referring to the curved walls at the corners of the build, they are just regular straight pieces placed slightly rotated from the one before. If you are referring to the dvergr metal wall in front of the eitr refinery, then I believe the recipe for that unlocks when you first build a black forge! Hope this helps. Thank you for the comment!
Good question. The black marble used for the back wall is a mistlands-tier material. However, you can replace the black marble with stone and achieve a very similar look. If you make that change, you should be able to recreate the majority of this build! Thanks for you comment.
@@phinqs I build this after just entering the swamps! Instead of black marble I used stone walls and iron beams. The floating bits of wall above the fireplace had to be placed in a specific way for it not to crumble, but outside of that it went flawlessly :)
We can blame it on UA-cam for not recommending this video first! You can always make changes as your storage requirement increases though. Thanks for your support on my videos!
You're probably right! I just called it 2x1x1 because that is what it is called within the build directory. For some reason, stone is only called 2x1 but black marble is called 2x1x1, haha!
Haha, this is true! It is kind of annoying but honestly it does not bother me too much. If you find a good alternative that works in this build I would love to hear it. I am always interested in improving my builds! Thank you for your positive feedback!
@@phinqs On that build , tricky to describe. Eitr refinery and hearth swap places , and the back of the ovens meets up with the right side of the hearth , so they share one chimney. Ovens beeing turned 90 degrees. Would have to enter the alcove already assigned to the ovens to load / unload the ovens.
Unfortunately not. I was not even aware of the mod until recently but I have not recreated any of these builds in order to have it in the mod. The world file is available on my Discord server for UA-cam members though, if you are interested in that at all.
At least you're honest! Seriously though, that's the whole reason that I upload my builds - so that others can take inspiration from them the same way I do from others! Thanks for your support.
This build looks amazing, but ... 🙃 The chimneys, while nice, are purely decorative, the holes aren't tall enough to vent smoke. However, there is probably enough room in them to not smother the hearth anyway. You put 8 fires in the middle of the room, but then went and put a lantern directly above the hearth, which is the brightest spot in the building? It needs more storage space, honestly.
Thanks for the feedback. The chimney doesn't actually need to vent smoke in order to do what it needs to do - although, you can modify it easily enough to allow it to vent smoke. Also, I feel like you are being very critical. I do not believe that people need to copy the build completely to get value from the building - they definitely do not need to duplicate my lighting placement. Anyway, this game is all down to preference so we just have to build and play the way we enjoy!
I think I have guidance at the end of my maximum comfort room build. I basically removed a few of the wall panels and slap it on the side. I am sure you'll work out something that works for you!
Sorry to hear that. My initial thought would be to ensure that you are building your roof firstly from the back of the structure (the black marble pieces) and then placing the roof component for the front of the structure. If this doesn’t work, ensure that all of your ground pieces are blue when highlighted. This means that they are connected to the ground and therefore, offer the highest form of foundation. This is what I have done in my build and that allows it to work perfectly fine. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment!
Thank you for your comment and constructive feedback. I think there is definitely a way to include the workbench and forge upgrades without hiding them so if people would like to make minor changes to do this I do not think it would be too hard. Let me know if you decide to try this out!
@@phinqs not planning to copy the whole building as I rather build my own stuff, but I'm definitely gonna grab some ideas and technics. E.g. the way you layout your fireplace - you make it really effortless, while I'm kinda struggling with it yet. Also the rounded corners with diagonal styling looks surprisingly good and fit well on rectangular base. That's really useful!
@@artyhedgehog Great. I feel like we have a similar ideology when it comes to bases. I watch a lot of videos from other people to spark my own ideas but very rarely recreate them piece by piece. I only recently come up with the curved walls with a rectangular shaped roof but I have used it a lot in my more recent builds! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I placed it in my adjacent comfort room as I had a spare corner. I do not use the spinning wheel too much so did not prioritise it in this build. However, if you would like to see how I incorporate it in to the overarching build, you can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/43NxjLucoes/v-deo.html . Thanks for your comment!
@@phinqs I only asked because of my CDO (same as OCD with letters in alphabetical order, as they should be) and I classified a spinning wheel with the other things. I love the design. I made a modified version with basement for more storage and the various enhancements.
@@nelsonhemstreet3568 Haha, I like that one - CDO. Yes, I am sure that you could fit in the spinning wheel somewhere if you really wanted to. You would maybe just have to remove some storage in order to do it! Thank you for your feedback!
Haha, building it in survival is someone elses job! I do have something similar in one of my survival playthroughs though. I find enjoyment in the grind - I was raised playing Runescape. Thanks for the comment!

@@phinqs I"m currently mimicking this build. Getting the last bit of Tar for the darkwood which I've been going through like no tomorrow. Really will clean up my Longhouse and my Plains base. Good work. Survival all day.
This isn't entirely true - angled regular wood pieces (26 degrees and 45 degrees) do not take wet damage. This is also true for the cross beams. Additionally, darkwood does not take damage from the rain! Hope this helps!

Thank you for your positive feedback. I try to keep my designs intricate enough to make them interesting but simple enough to recreate!
Awesome built man and very straight forward instructions! I knows it's not much but you've earned my humble subscription
This tutorial is exactly what I needed! Please keep on bringing such nice building tutorials :)
Trust me, I will keep bringing these videos as long as people are enjoying them! Thanks a lot for your positive comment!
I believe you are one of the best at doing build guides! So detailed and thorough!
Dang that looks awesome. Pointing out tricks to snap and hide, keeping the video snappy and easy to follow.
Thank you for that feedback. All the things you commented on are things I focus on when creating the video so I am glad that I have delivered the standard I set out to achieve. I try to find a balance between explaining things well and not taking up too much of people's time! Thanks again for your comment!
I love your videos! The way you talk through and explain every step is like none other in my opinion. Keep up the great work.
Thank you - it means a lot! I am very glad you enjoy the content I create - it gives me some reassurance that I am developing on the right track. Here's to many more videos!
I don't play Valheim and don't know why this was rec'd to me but I enjoyed the video regardless. Good work!
First video of yours I've ever seen (YT recommended it) and I'm very impressed. A great build, you've earned yourself a sub!
Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. I will do what I can to continue delivering similar or better content in the future! It looks like UA-cam recommendations are working after all!
Best build I've seen yet !!!! Looks AMAZING !!!!
That means a lot. Thank you - glad you enjoyed it! There will be more to come!
I had to put in a central support beam and a middle iteration of the roof crosshatch in order to keep the roof stable.) I do hope to upgrade my workstation once I get the chance, though.🙂
Either way, it was a blast to build, and now I have all my stuff centralized in a convenient and deeply satisfying way. So thank you for the help!! 😁
That is amazing! Thank you for your support. I'm not sure why your structural integrity was poorer using regular pieces but I am glad you found a workaround. You can always upgrade as you unlock new items and gather materials!
This is really awesome! I love how it looks at the end. Incredibly pretty AND useful. Thanks for making this guide!
I am glad it was helpful! This is one of my favourite builds that I have created. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Love using the darkwood beams as well. Marble looks amazing.
They look so much better than the normal beams and once you get a decent farm for tar, they are not too bad to make! Thanks for your comment!
What an awesome looking layout and easy to follow step by step. Just finished mine today and wanted to say thanks and subbed
Fantastic build! Appreciate you showing each step of the build and why you do it that way.
Thanks a lot - it means a lot that people enjoy the videos I make. Also, thanks for letting me know my style of recording is on the right tracks. Glad you liked it!
I really love how you do your training videos!!! This storage building is awesome!!!
Thank you so much. It is really nice to get feedback like this on my videos - it makes me know I am on the right tracks! I am glad you enjoyed the video. There will be plenty more still to come!
Oh what I wouldn't give for being able to download builds like these from a gallery like let's say Sims. I suck at building in Valheim so much, imagine how awesome would it be if we could just download this and plop it down in our Meadows (for the mat cost, of course) 😃
This is a very beautiful and creative build, good sir.
You will get everything unlocked with time. Thank you for the comment though! It took me so long to create, haha!
Done building this in survival mode, it's legit. Now I need to make my smelting/furnace area efficient and pretty.
Keep it up.
Excellent build, Excellent explaining! Following along was pure joy!
Thank you. I am really happy that the video is being received that way. It takes a lot of time to create these videos so it's good to get positive feedback!
@@phinqs Yeah man hope to see more from you! 👍🏼
@@TsoiIzAlive I need to get another video out soon! I have the build complete but have to knock it down to recreate it for a video, haha!
It's a really simple build and I learned a few things. Well done!
Perfect! That is literally all I hope to do with my videos - help people out and provide enjoyment. Thanks for your positive feedback!
What a phenomenal build man, hats off.
I appreciate that. This is definitely one of my more intricate builds but I think the effort paid off in the end.
Wow man, great video I love this build! Clear easy to follow instructions, I learned so many great tips from this video.
That means a lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and let me know. It is only fair that I share some of the tips I have picked up over my time spent on this game as a good amount of them have come from other players and have helped me personally. Here's to more easy to follow videos in the future!
Super in depth! Loved the build!
All the details with none of the faff. Thanks for the comment!
That 20 minutes went by so fast lol. This game might have the best base building of all time. Actually allows you to do exactly what you had in mind.
Yup, now i only need to add the cooking and blacksmith area, thanks!
Perfect - you're collecting them all! Thanks again for the support.
Thank you for making this! I followed along and made the build!! :)
I am really happy to hear that! It's great to know that people enjoy my builds.
Absolutely gorgeous build man.. real nice functional house mate..
I am really glad you enjoyed it so much! Thanks a lot for your support.
Hey man. Great content. I’m new to the game but have been trying to find a good late game all in one. Trying to figure a way to incorporate a portal room and max rest area. Love your work. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. I also have a maximum comfort room build that I have attached to this build, if that is any help. Good luck!
loved this build, im not in the marble stage yet so i used stone where marble was.
Perfect! That is one of the great things about components of different materials being the same size. Being able to use stone instead of black marble in the early stages of the game is a game changer for building aesthetics, in my opinion! Thanks for your comment!
Wow, great video 😊
Really well explained, keep it up
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it. There will be plenty more videos to come. Don't worry!
Phinqsies! I bet you can't make something just with starter mats!
Ei bro, thanks to this guide, i was able to build a base on an island. tweak it a bit, to have a 2nd flr. bed area.
thanks!
Might edit it later since I forgot to put fermentors 😅
I did however had a hard time with the roof since going high will lower the strength/foundation of the roof but was able to pull it.
Excellent design Phinqs... I need black marble now! I didn't even know it existed lol.
I am glad you enjoyed the video! Hopefully it made up for the black marble spoiler, haha. Plenty more videos still to come!
Thanks for all the continued support. What should I build next?
Needing an end game storage house any recommendations?
Great video! Could you include how much the total cost is for the whole build for us survival nerds thanks! Naturally next would be a portal, a dock, animal pen, or farm.
A max lvl comfort room would be nice, matching the build you did with this. It would be an "ultimate" combo for endgame.

@@Kroppix90YT I will try my best. Appreciate it!
Incredible structure. Do you have an updated version that houses the new crafting add-ons.
Can you substitute black marble for regular stone? I’m in the silver age and am looking to upgrade my base and love this efficient design.
Yes, you can replace the black marble with stone. The only thing to beware of is that regular stone does not absorb the damage from the eitr refinery and hence, may take damage over time. Although, if you do not yet have the eitr refinery then you will be fine! Thanks for your comment.
@@phinqs thank you! I guess I’ll add the black marble when I get it or just make a new refinery section to the base.
@@Purpl3Thor Definitely. That sounds like a good plan to me!
Very well-thought. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! It took some time to make it all work the way it is shown in this video! I am glad you liked it.
For someone on Xbox and just beating the swamps it hurts to know how far away from this I am.. subscribed and told my boss I quit.
This is exactly what I set out to inspire when I created this video! Hope your boss took the news well. Thank you for the support!
Very impressive. Thank you for sharing.
I am glad you liked it. Thanks for your comment!
Can you show us a build for all the furnaces and kilns? Or a place to store animals?
We are always happy to meet new players!
just built this only change ive done not used black marble haven't discovered it yet. So easy to follow
That’s great to hear! I’m glad you liked the build enough to recreate it. It makes sense to use stone until you discover the late-game materials. Thanks for the support!
This is perfect. Thanks for the video! Anyone have any idea about how much resources are required to build it all?
I am really glad you liked the video! I have not counted the material cost personally but I believe someone else has done it and commented the list. Hope this helps!
Very nice build just wish I had room for a bed lol I might alter it add a room for bed but looks great I been struggling with storage so bad I have stuff everywhere thanks
You should check out my "maximum comfort room" build. It shows you how to build an additional room adjacent to this build for all your comfort needs. It sounds like you would enjoy it. Thanks for your comment!

I am very glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the positive comment!
This is still my favorite goto build.
I’m glad other people like this build as much as I do!
where do you suggest I put my spinning wheel in this build?
I have previously attached a comfort room to this build and placed it in there. However, if you are talking about this build on its own, I would probably take out some of the storage along the walls and create a booth for the spinning wheel. I hope this helps!
@@phinqs this is perfect !!! Thank you and looking forward to more of your builds for Ashlands and the Deep North in the future.
@@jbonayon15 Thank you! I still have plenty of ideas that I want to explore so you can expect many more videos from me.
nice early 2000s looking mc donalds building, my storage system was similar looking but had regular poles instead of darkwood poles.
Can u show us ur labled chests 😀 I like ur describtions
And your work are brilliant. Ur designs are brilliant. Luve it.
That’s a nice build
Thank you! I am glad you like it.
question how do you attach this to the comfort room?
I actually demonstrate how this can be done at the end of the "Maximum Comfort Room" video but in short, you create an opening in the wall of the comfort room and connect it to the entrance of the storage house. The front wall of the storage house becomes the right-hand side wall of the comfort room. The rest of the build should fit together with minor changes. Hope this helps!
nice work👍
Thanks a lot! I am glad you like it.
Have you got any good starter bases? Can we use the same template just with starter mats?
I have a few starter bases on my channel that are a decent size - meaning that you shouldn’t have to make too many changes as you progress throughout the game. This specific build can be built with the standard wood pieces and stone rather than black marble, if you haven’t unlocked some of the pieces. Thanks for the comment!
@@phinqs I think building this with the basic starter materials, as early as possible, and upgrading as I go along, is an excellent idea!
Nice video, What mod do you get those roof textures from?
Thank you. This was all built in the vanilla version of the game. If you do not recognise the roof components, you will likely still need to unlock them in game! Good luck.
@@phinqs actually stopped right before hearth and home so the tar didn’t exist yet ;o
Ive been trying to find/design a nice a build to build around the spawn point. Got any ideas?
This is a good idea. Do you mean a build that incorporates the spawn point? I will add it to my list and hopefully can get around to creating a video on it. My first thoughts are a circular build similar to my portal hub that surrounds the spawn stones. I would be interested to see anything that you create.
@@phinqs building or just decoration. I've been trying to manage building destroyed castle look around it. A portal room might be a good idea. Just very difficult to work around due to the force that stops you. I'd like to see what your ideas are because your a God builder. I've used a few of your small designs slammed together for my long house lol.
@@Odin313 I'll have to see what I can come up with. I'm sure it would be possible to build something cool. Thanks for your support on the channel!
Does the roof fall from the lack of stability?
Good question. It should not. The support from the black marble at the rear of the build should support the roof. If you are having issues, make sure all your foundation pieces are blue when you hover over them with the hammer. If they are all fine, build the roof from the rear of the structure first!
not sure why but the roof falls apart when i try to put the window in, any ideas?
I would probably start with checking that the foundation pieces are coloured blue when you hover over them with the hammer. This will ensure they are in contact with the ground and as strong as they can be. I think with this build, I had to start the roof from the back of the build as it is better supported by the stone/black marble pieces. I can give you a little bit more guidance if you are happy to join my Discord server. You can share screenshots and I can have a look to see if I notice anything strange. I am sure others will try to help too. There are many people in the server that have already built their own version of this. Hope this helps!
Whelp, looks like i got a lot of mats to farm to make this which will keep me busy for quite some time!
I guess that means you are planning to build it! A lot of people do not find enjoyment in the building aspect of Valheim but it completely makes the game what it is, in my opinion. I love grinding for materials in survival and coming up with interesting bases to spend my time! Thanks for your comment and good luck with farming the materials!
i love this this is somehting ive been tryign to do recnelty i love the room desighn
Thank you! It is probably my best build. I hope you like it in practice!
You should make a video about Defesnive base with turret setups and and traps and all
Thanks for the suggestion. I would need to have a think about this build as I have not actually played survival in a while!
Awesome build, but needs to incorporate the smelters.
Thank you! I plan to incorporate a smithing area into another build that could go alongside this but I agree, smelters are definitely required somewhere close.
How did you get the spiral wall?
I am not entirely sure what you mean. If you are referring to the curved walls at the corners of the build, they are just regular straight pieces placed slightly rotated from the one before. If you are referring to the dvergr metal wall in front of the eitr refinery, then I believe the recipe for that unlocks when you first build a black forge! Hope this helps. Thank you for the comment!
@@phinqs I see, thx
I am currently in the plains. Is it possible to build this at this point?
Good question. The black marble used for the back wall is a mistlands-tier material. However, you can replace the black marble with stone and achieve a very similar look. If you make that change, you should be able to recreate the majority of this build! Thanks for you comment.
@@phinqs I’ll give it a shot!
@@AndrewHipskind Good luck! Let me know how you get on.
@@phinqs I build this after just entering the swamps! Instead of black marble I used stone walls and iron beams. The floating bits of wall above the fireplace had to be placed in a specific way for it not to crumble, but outside of that it went flawlessly :)
Just made the small storage hut darn it!
We can blame it on UA-cam for not recommending this video first! You can always make changes as your storage requirement increases though. Thanks for your support on my videos!
2x1x1 seems to be a weird way of saying it.
2x1 is enough, isn't it? Unless there are tetris blocks i don't know about
You're probably right! I just called it 2x1x1 because that is what it is called within the build directory. For some reason, stone is only called 2x1 but black marble is called 2x1x1, haha!
I wouldn't place the ovens facing forward, since they make an annoying noise EVERY time one move in front of them. Still, nice building overall.

@@phinqs im currently recreating the build with swamp max materials. Works perfectly fine with stone and normal wood. Just not as shiny.
How much mats?
Great question. I did not personally count them for this build. However, I think I remember someone leaving it in the comments. Hope this helps!
@@phinqs hope. I love when people write it down so you don’t have to run back to get recourses again and again..
@@piipiipoopoo520 I keep having the good intention of recording materials but forget in reality. Sorry. Thanks for your support on the video!
Muy bonito!!!! gracias
Gracias! I'm glad you liked it.
I must admit that I have stolen your design...so much so that I have torn down my old house and I have made the one in this video.
At least you're honest! Seriously though, that's the whole reason that I upload my builds - so that others can take inspiration from them the same way I do from others! Thanks for your support.
This build looks amazing, but ... 🙃
The chimneys, while nice, are purely decorative, the holes aren't tall enough to vent smoke.
@@phinqs It's more observations than criticism, didn't mean to be particularly confrontational. Sorry about that.
@@hypoaktivnaovca It's no problem. It is also no secret that my builds aren't perfect, haha!
The biggest brain teaser for me is figuring out how to combine it with the comfort room 😅.
I think I have guidance at the end of my maximum comfort room build. I basically removed a few of the wall panels and slap it on the side. I am sure you'll work out something that works for you!
my roof is going red and breaking pls help me: :((((
Sorry to hear that.
Super duper 😁

Glad you enjoyed it, my dude! Thanks for the comment.
Really cool building, except for the hiding of workbench/forge tools. I don't get why do it, it feels really immersion breaking.
Stupid Question - Spinning wheel?
Now build this in survival and not creative :D It looks awesome, but jesus, that's so much grind.
Haha, building it in survival is someone elses job! I do have something similar in one of my survival playthroughs though. I find enjoyment in the grind - I was raised playing Runescape. Thanks for the comment!
By the time you have marble, you would have most of this anyway. Cant wait to build this and change things up to make it mine.
@@pamdavis9125 This was exactly my thinking! If you are collecting materials as you progress, by the time you have marble you usually have a fairly big backlog of materials! Let me know how you get on with your build!
@@phinqs I"m currently mimicking this build. Getting the last bit of Tar for the darkwood which I've been going through like no tomorrow. Really will clean up my Longhouse and my Plains base. Good work. Survival all day.
I hide some of the workstation upgrades under the floors.
This is definitely an option. I have done this on a few occasions too! Thanks for your comment.
any wooden pieces protruding the roof will take damage from the rain
This isn't entirely true - angled regular wood pieces (26 degrees and 45 degrees) do not take wet damage. This is also true for the cross beams. Additionally, darkwood does not take damage from the rain! Hope this helps!
