I really appreciate how you write things on the screen for us and even add some relevant photos to support your descriptions, like when you pointed out the John Deere or explained the Duukhabors. Every time you make a new, great discovery, I get excited, too. Your channel is so enjoyable to watch.
@@CuriosityIncorporated I agree. I love your adventures, your respect of the items/former treasured belongings from someone in history, and your family is adorable. :) Good luck and I wish you much success. :)
@@CuriosityIncorporated I love it. Really fun to compare the market in Canada and Sweden. (It´s similar in many ways.) However. The fact that you are likable are like the cherry on top. (I want to see you make money.) Regarding likability. (Everybody voting for a nice guy and everybody loves to see a underdog succeed.) Perfect combo! Finally regarding your business. Have to say that this channel is one of the smartest marketing approaches I have seen So clever. Keep up the good work!
I totally agree🤨 how rude. I'm very happy for you, now if it was me I'd have hired a crew a moving company and cleaned it out, would have enough inventory to last for a few years.. CONGRATULATIONS!! BRAVO
if we ever get up that way, we would LOVE to check out your shop. awesome stuff. i now realize how much cool stuff my grandparents had, lots of dish sets, lots of electric conductors, cast iron irons, old signs, vintage clothes. you're doing a good job
sweet! There is an abandoned antique shop in the town where our cabin is....and you drive by and the windows are still filled. I always wonder, "What is going to happen to that?" Probably something like this one day. No one disturbs it, but it must be rare to find a shop with so much silver and good things!
Always thought my husband was a bit of a hoarder but after watching a few of your videos, he has a long way to go, thank the Lord. Luckily you love your job and the hunt for treasures! I have been really enjoying watching your videos Alex thanks.
Just found your channel and I love it! I started dealing in vintage as a hobby 20 years ago and recently turned 'professional' - I honestly think it's my dream to buy a neglected old antique store. Sourcing is the best fun when you can dig through giant piles! Also thank you so much for your great production values, it's a joy to watch and not get dizzy. :)
I really love that little made in Japan watch! When I was a little girl you used to buy things like that at the Woolworth five and dime store for a nickel. They came in all different colors and of course black bands. I haven’t seen one in a very long time. 🥰
I was just informed about a man whose father had collected a bunch of NOS 1950's and 1960's Dodge parts. Stored in two buildings at least the size of your Saskatchewan haul. The son has zero interest in it and just wants it gone. He had talked about putting some out for a garage sale but said he'd really rather not deal with it at all. If I can I'll buy every single piece after looking through it. Hopefully there's some hemi and muscle car stuff to make it worthwhile. As it is I have NOS motorcycle parts plus 700 bikes and tons of parts to sell. Definitely not enough time to sell it all before I croak. But, I can't pass up a deal. Anyone else have that (problem? lol, not a problem)
It's January 2021. I didn't see this video from before. I had forgotten what the old store looked like. Nice going back to these videos. I started with the Potter's house and am enjoying so much the content!
34 seconds in and I realize you are deservedly zooming past 25,000 Subscribers! But hey, on your loose change video, the first I watched before I knew what you do, I made crabby critic comments and did not think I would watch again, yet your professional diplomacy with the personal response MADE me take that second look...then I subscribed....and now when I grow up (the way my wife says I should) I want to be you. Joking aside, the channel is remarkable and you deserve the rocket to the top, Congrats!
Thanks so much Scott, admittedly I should’ve spent more time and been more careful on that coin lot... we live and learn :) I appreciate you sticking with us!
I am really enjoying your videos! I’ve always loved antique shops, vintage stores, estate sales, and garage sales. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Really enjoyed coming along on your adventures! I see a lot of people mourning not taking everything, but as a business owner you did great! If you took everything and somehow crammed it in your house, shop and a storage unit, it would have taken many more trips plus helpers and you'd end up with your place looking like a hoarders place! You have the right mindset in taking what is most likely to sell well and leave the rest. There will always be places to find new stock! I wish you and your family the best of luck😃
This is great. I love the antiques, there are a couple of stores here that I love to go to and just walk around and look at everything. You take care and be safe
I think the way you handled this opportunity is so savvy! You don't morn that you didn't bring back every last good find. You're happy for it to have been a profitable deal for you and also for the auction house, and also worked out for the person you bought the store's inventory from. Comparing your shop to that shop really demonstrates what a difference a well-organized and thoughtfully merchandized shop makes. That place really shows that you can have too much inventory. Even if it was good stuff found at a good deal, it was an investment that was stuck in an unusable form for decades threatening to collapse around everyone and not bringing back those returns.
One of the fringe benefits of these videos is that looking at all the mess in these abandoned and crammed places then looking at my flat I can genuinely see the latter as being well-kept, tidy, organized and clutter free :)
There was at least two hexagonal barreled rifles there. One even had the ramrod still with it that I could see. Depending on the condition and what rifle company made them, they are the first ones I'd pull out and look at very closely. They can be worth a fortune. Now that I freeze framed the shot I think there is more than just two. There is at least 5 there. A rifle/military collector would love to take a closer look at that lot.
What fun that would be to go through all those boxes. I would love it. Seems like that’s gonna be very good for you. I’m glad. You work hard and you deserve it. Take care!
when you went to empty that store with just you and your son i thought oh my! you're probably going to need half an army of workers and a 53' tractor trailer truck! wow great score of goodys provided you got them at a good price and lucky you didn't wreck with that tire blowing out!!! a little while to go through? lol! a month of Sundays wouldn't make a dent! lol! the ghosts don't want you moving their stuff lol! hope you scored! ☆☆☆
Definitely not a hoarder! Who ever said that about you must be nuts. You’re just a man working very hard to build up your antique business. And I think you’re doing a great job. Your wife must be very proud of you.
Thank you so so much for videoing these finds! It makes me so happy to watch you travel to antique finds when I can’t because of Covid. Keep it up! You are great at it!
To the people that called him a hoarder...nonsense. This guy is even tammed, I would of went back another 2 times probably. Good work and good find. I'm sure the profit will be more than some of these hecklers make in a year. KEEP EM COMING....
Wow, I'll bet those old Tobacco baseball cards alone recouped the cost of that old place, plus those coins! Man I'd love to be able to do what you do....Always loved going through old stuff just see how things were back then. Being a sports cards, comics and coin collector as well as trains, it's cool to see someone that can relate and sees even better things than I have lol
No wonder they went out of business, look at those prices! That little cast iron skillet was the first thing I noticed in that box, I love small items like that! I think the decision you made about the remaining inventory was a smart move on your part! Its really good to get to know the other shop owners, just on case one day they have something you want, and hopefully theor prices will be reasonable. About the hoarder comment, hoarders keep everything they buy. They don't sell anything ever. For some reason they think they will need it eventually. You are not a hoarder, its just good business, and that's how you do business.
The little skillet is actually worth about that much as it is a salesman sample miniature and are quite rare compared to a child’s toy which would only be worth a couple dollars. and yes I don’t hang onto much, no hoarding issues here! :)
AWC95 The salesman works for the stove manufacturer and is using the little skillet as a sample to prospective customers. What's not to understand here? Am I missing something here?

thanks for the update...those coins have a great value in them...also that trunk full of sterling silver made my heart skip a beat...great finds...wow...
What a great win win win -- the family got the money they wanted, you got items to provide for your family, and the auctioneer will end up making money for his family, and many others will complete collections or find objects that bring them joy. Great business model where everyone wins.
So glad I stumbled upon your channel! I am an antique dealer in Texas and so enjoyed going thru your fantastic buy of the old shop. As you were filming I saw so many things that would sell for big bucks in a Texas antique shop. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful buy. Wish I could get away for a road trip to Canada! I would love to see your shop!
Where in tx are you? I am in wichita falls and many times plan my vacations around the antique shops i want to visit if there are items i am needing for my home!
Even though I live in the US I enjoy watching your videos because you find things l have never seen in my area. Great job on raising your children by the way. They seem to be so respectful to you.
Make sure to find someone who knows coins to help you with those. Really. You would be surprised that there are subtle differences in older coins that can mean the difference between $100 and $10,000
I just purchased an 1878-S morgan silver dollar from inside a swank keychain....I think there are over 20 varieties and errors known on specifically that coin for that year? Ive been collecting coins my whole life mainly from pocket change but error coins and varieties are my favorite to collect. I got lucky with the new 2018-s silver us reverse proof silver set and mine was riddled with errors Ive already recieved offers in the thousands ungraded and some people have offered over 10,000 graded. Im trying to learn as much as I can in identifying errors and hopefully It will help jumpstart my collection into really growing.
William Baker it’s usually print run based in the case of us coins off hand I know a lot the Carson City Morgan’s are worth more than their S and P mints of the same years
Stumbled on ur channel today & the topic was the pottery maker’s hoarder house. Now I’m hooked! Watched all 5 episodes u have posted so far.Amazing what can be found under all that mess.Waiting to see how the renovations work out &hopefully the plumbing issues don’t make u go over budget. Great channel & really enjoy watching u & family/friends discover hidden treasures. Can’t wait to see more👍🏼🙂
One time I dug up all my old jewelry and some silver dollars that had been given to me over the years. The entire batch brought us close to 1000 US dollars. I needed that cash!
Wow lots of vintage Coleman items ! In the States a lot of people are really into the Vintage Campers and like to get many vintage items to go with the same year camper or RV I started out with a. Old Airstream and began collecting items with it the Coleman lanterns were easy to repair and get parts to make them work and were kind of fun to. Actually use. At the campgrounds plus a great conversation peice and display item I was surprised to see you leave them behind but I wasn't. Sure of your agreement with the owners you purchased the contents from ? The motorcycle picture was very cool It is neat to see so many treasures in one video
I Truly Enjoyed The Journey. What An Adventure and Awesome Finds. You Hit The Honey Hole of Antiques. Would Love To Be In Your Shoes. Keep Up The Wonderful Work. You Have A Well Mannered Son. Happy For You And Your Family
How do you keep from thinking that you might've left a big money item behind? That would drive me crazy. Something small like an old motor bike engine could be worth thousands. I don't think I could do it.
Finally, I' tired of all the fake shows on History Channel with storage units and pickers and what not, THIS is the real deal. Keep on going man, subbed!
OMG Alex i have two silver spoons exactly like the one you held in your hand at 17:08 i had them from my grandma's cupboard which she got them by herself from her own grandma's when she was my age. and i live in Beirut Lebanon. WOW
oh, hey :) , yeah i know!!!!!!!...... as soon as i saw the spoon in your hand my jaw dropped man, and i decided to write you about,........ great job Alex, i Love antiquity myself, keep up the good job and the goods coming, i'm definitely subscribing, any insta so i can follow you there, mine is pure_honey_cakes , hope to see you there soon , thumbs up
10:51. American Gas machine/Sunflame lantern. Worth a pretty penny. The glass globes alone can be worth anywhere from $15-$100 depending on their shape and markings. Most of the similar lantern and stove stuff, even the lone nickle plated fount (tank) have collectable value as they can be completed with other parts. Cool stuff.
If it weren't so cold in the winters I would so love to work with you and your family! I love how much respect and dignity you give to the previous owners! Especially with the potter's house! That being said...I wish you were somewhere warmer 😂😂😂 Cheers from Costa Rica!
those who would call you a hoarder have no cue what it takes to be an antique dealer. they dont realize that you need to have a large inventory to make it in the antique business. an uncluttered antique shop is one that is going to fail
I have recently viewed a number of your videos and subscribed. I am very impressed with your business skills, your energy, and your family values. Keep up the great work!

It's not from The Netherlands ;) It's part of a 1953 series of license plates from US cereal brand Wheaties. They would be in a box of cereal to collect.
I finally saw a “big penny”! My dad was born in 1920 and he would talk about the big pennies from when he was small. Glad you explained the porcelain signs, I kept wondering what you meant from other videos. Enjoying all your videos.
Very nice video. I think you said it well about people wanting to know what you paid for the antique store. Looks like you brought back some fun items. Tfs, take care.
Very cool. It was exciting just watching all that treasure being sorted out. Good business sense leaving some great items for the new shop owner. The two shops could help each other out once in a while. Those coins were awesome. I would be shaking with excitement going through all those items. lol. Thank you for sharing. Eric
What an amazing haul! Such fun watching and have to agree with a lot of folks here, likable (and so cute too ;) and love watching you interact with your son, great father son time. Will watch more videos! Hope you and your family are doing well, and happy holidays from Arizona!
Lol...my mind is blown, man so much stuff... I think it would have given me a breakdown lol I'll swing by and have a look at what you brought back, can't wait to see the treasure haul
You are very right in NOT disclosing what you paid for the abandoned antique shop or what your were in turn paid for what you sold to the auction house. It is human nature to ask that question BUT in reality an answer is not expected. Maybe you should have just ignored those 'nosey' questions and just continue doing what you are doing. You obviously have a business acumen and will go very far in your chosen area of expertise. Once again I appreciate what you bring to your viewers and can only ask that you continue whilst I can only envy you and your abilities. Makes me wish I wasn't quite so far away.
I love your choice of jazz music. The large cent US coins may deserve some scrutiny as there may be value there. I'm glad that all worked out for you as it appears that your haul in silver alone will allow you to clear a nice profit.
Please don't melt any of the coins, they're never going to be produced again and they reflect a country's legacy. The sterling and silver flatware is in demand. Do a search under "silver flatware". There's quite a market for this stuff. Some people will pay good money to add to the completion of silver or sterling flatware sets of certain brands and designs.
Is it just me or did some of you see a bunch of magnetos at 6:15 and so old brass and glass oilers at 7:40? WOW those are some great finds. In the states here people go nuts for those things.
That pink car toy at 8:10 ish i need it. I just love all these antiques! I love your channel you’re so lucky to be able to find all of these items! The guns too are beautiful. Definitely a dream job right here! But giving that sewing machine to auction! I could never! But old sewing machines are my moms biggest interest

Maria Flodin Maria, you got to travel to Jylland in Denmark to go antique hunting. There are the biggest barns you can imagine filled with “junk”. So many small thrift stores where you can get expensive antiques for nothing because they have no idea what they are selling. Small stores in every tiny village etc. We’ve bought so much in Jylland on markets and in stores that I can sell with 300% profit in Norway. It’s paradise for antique hunters and a beautiful country and friendliest folks on this earth.

Octagon rifle barrels are worth a bit of money . Great Vids keep it up..
it's always nice to learn new things when you are a collector , thanks for making this content Curiosity Incorporated
William Baker speak for yourself
I DID speak for myself. I gave an OPINION.
William Baker it’s usually print run based in the case of us coins off hand I know a lot the Carson City Morgan’s are worth more than their S and P mints of the same years
I bet he had more than $100K worth of silver coins there!!
Just found your channel! Omg, what a treasure trove you found! I would LOVE to go thru’ that old antique shop!! I love antiquing and digging!🤣
Nice haul you got there! If you ever have any coin questions, feel free to reach out!
Can’t wait to see more👍🏼🙂
Fascinating stuff. Good luck and keep the videos coming.
Sick and staying in today. Thanks for keeping me company! I love a good Treasure hunt.
Smart guy Alex....doing the deal, selling the stuff you couldn't bring back to an auction house.
Easiest way to clear it all in a hurry :)
Those guns he left behind we worth tons of money, but Canadian gun laws are pathetic so 🤷🏾♂️
Finally, I' tired of all the fake shows on History Channel with storage units and pickers and what not, THIS is the real deal. Keep on going man, subbed!
Thanks so much for the sub!
OMG Alex i have two silver spoons exactly like the one you held in your hand at 17:08 i had them from my grandma's cupboard which she got them by herself from her own grandma's when she was my age. and i live in Beirut Lebanon. WOW
That’s really cool! What are the odds? :)
oh, hey :) , yeah i know!!!!!!!...... as soon as i saw the spoon in your hand my jaw dropped man, and i decided to write you about,........ great job Alex, i Love antiquity myself, keep up the good job and the goods coming, i'm definitely subscribing, any insta so i can follow you there, mine is pure_honey_cakes , hope to see you there soon , thumbs up
Cool stuff.
That pepsicola ice pick is worth bank. I sold one for over $500 in the same cont like ten years ago.
Wow!
If it weren't so cold in the winters I would so love to work with you and your family! I love how much respect and dignity you give to the previous owners! Especially with the potter's house! That being said...I wish you were somewhere warmer 😂😂😂
Cheers from Costa Rica!
those who would call you a hoarder have no cue what it takes to be an antique dealer. they dont realize that you need to have a large inventory to make it in the antique business. an uncluttered antique shop is one that is going to fail
Certainly not a hoarder, everything is for sale :)
I have recently viewed a number of your videos and subscribed. I am very impressed with your business skills, your energy, and your family values. Keep up the great work!
When you don't have any wood around you to knock on, you just knock on your head, at least that's how a lot of people do it in the city in Spain I'm from lol
Good advice! ;)
Did you know “knocking on wood” isn’t superstitious at all? It came from praying on one’s rosary beads, which were commonly wood.
@@Docallanw As if rosary beads aren't superstitious, LOL!
I was going to say that. Lucky I checked the comments first.
@@AndrewAMartin Wrong.
you do have a real finds. I am a coin collector and when you showed those rarity, I drooled 😊 Gorgeous items
CURIOSITY INC GIVE US THE BEST WAY TO APPRECIATE ALL THINGS OF HISTORY AROUND THE TIMES.THANKS TO ALEX A GREATFULL AND KIND ADMIRER AND PROTECTOR OF OUR LIFE RELICS...YOU ARE GREAT ALEX..😃👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Appreciate your enthusiasm Harry :)
Right?! I'm glad we can see this vicariously...I'm not too great with spiders and dust!
Drooling over those vintage cards. Fantastic. 😍
You mentioned about melting the silver down, before you do check the hallmarks. Silver from Paul Revere goes for big bucks
I was going to say the same thing, and that spoon was REAL suspicious.
@@jonmartin3075 suspicious? Trying to learn from watching others and reading comments.
The person who bought the rest will be more than pleased with what he has also.It worked out . Again job well done!!
Fun to see a old license plate from here (the Netherlands). Not something I expected to see haha.
I hope you took that Gi Joe Rolling Thunder back with you, box looked nice
Sure did!
Very nice video. I think you said it well about people wanting to know what you paid for the antique store. Looks like you brought back some fun items. Tfs, take care.
Those marbles could fetch a pretty penny ( especially the glass ones.) They were German handmade!
Hey Alex, I really enjoyed this video. The baseball cards and coins where a great find. You got some other great stuff to congrats. Thanks Kurt.
Very cool. It was exciting just watching all that treasure being sorted out. Good business sense leaving some great items for the new shop owner. The two shops could help each other out once in a while. Those coins were awesome. I would be shaking with excitement going through all those items. lol. Thank you for sharing. Eric
Thanks Eric! They are actively emptying the buildings and I hope they do very well with the items there :) I am happy with my inventory I got!
What an amazing haul! Such fun watching and have to agree with a lot of folks here, likable (and so cute too ;) and love watching you interact with your son, great father son time. Will watch more videos! Hope you and your family are doing well, and happy holidays from Arizona!
Oh I didn't realize your store is in the city I live in. I will have to visit you!
We are there tues to sat 11-5p :)
Oh you lucky...
What city
I'd love to have the old photos. I collect them and old skeleton keys. Awesome looking stuff you got!
Take it all. leave nothing but the dust !!!!!! LOL
Would’ve been fun but too much work and expensive to move
Oh boo hoo it would take to much time...
Time is money! He does not like to waste it.
Don't discriminate against dust!
Curiosity Incorporated there was almost $100K just in guns there
Lol...my mind is blown, man so much stuff... I think it would have given me a breakdown lol
I'll swing by and have a look at what you brought back, can't wait to see the treasure haul
Love the flamingo shirt!
Thanks William :) I’m debating whether to melt the silver or keep it intact
Please don't melt any of the coins, they're never going to be produced again and they reflect a country's legacy. The sterling and silver flatware is in demand. Do a search under "silver flatware". There's quite a market for this stuff. Some people will pay good money to add to the completion of silver or sterling flatware sets of certain brands and designs.
I love how you got stuff for your stove basically free. By flipping the rest of the stuff for what you brought it for. Great job.
Is it just me or did some of you see a bunch of magnetos at 6:15 and so old brass and glass oilers at 7:40? WOW those are some great finds. In the states here people go nuts for those things.
brought a few back
That pink car toy at 8:10 ish i need it. I just love all these antiques! I love your channel you’re so lucky to be able to find all of these items! The guns too are beautiful. Definitely a dream job right here! But giving that sewing machine to auction! I could never! But old sewing machines are my moms biggest interest
That's an orginal Barbie Vette, with the box right over there too
@Curiosity Incorporated
*GASP* At 04.51.. that barbie rv!! It really looks like the "Barbie Magic Van"...true collectible and profitable as heck.. I sure hope you brought it with you :-)
I'm so sad that I can't find hidden gems like this where I live ( sweden), so i'm pretty jealous right now.. haha
Love you videos !
Maria Flodin I noticed that too and I bet every woman over 30 did! I said “Barbie!” out loud. He needs to bring his wife along to the next one. :)
@@shinyshinythings Yeah! She would definitely make sure he doesn't miss out on the toys. That's where alot of the profit is.. like the millenium falcon he saw in one clip.. if my brother had seen that!! Yikes.. *starwars.fan** as HE*** =)
@@mariaflodin6180 Alex commented that it wasn't for sale at the end of video. He did sound a bit disappointed. Lol
@@Distressedwoman Ooohh !!! Great option for a vacation-trip! I have't mde any plans for my vacation yet so .. there might be *helloooo silja line and the gothenburg ferry over to the danish side* :-D
i dont even like antiques, at all. but i find this man really peaceful to watch, lol
Awe man, the two guys from Pickers would freak out in this store! He’d buy EVERYTHING! He loves old military stuff!
And offer way too much for the stuff too! It always amazes me how they start out way too high on their offers!
Yay!! Love your show, family and friends!
I seriously can't believe someone hasn't taken those old plows that were sitting outside for years.
That's what I was thinking? I with the big gravitation to homesteading and minimalism and leaving a smaller carbon footprint, there are a lot of folks who would love to hook some of those behind their mule or horse to plow their small gardens!
Its not uncommon for people to just leave things alone out here. get closer tot he city and that stuff would be gone
they were chained to a bolt cemented in the ground ;)
The auction house wouldn't leave them,I don't think so anyway,I'm with you on this one.
OMG, I totally love your flamingo shirt!! So jealous, lol. Some great items in this store.
Also dig the pink lamp with the 60's shade.
That pic of that bear is from a ww2 that bear was smuggled in to give hope to the soldiers the bear was even in the trenches a one point his name was woject he was made a private by the polish army here is the link to the wiki about the bear en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojtek_(bear)
