Kevin, like you, I like to shoot in monochrome + Raw. The Cinematic Monochrome is brilliant for the purpose of evaluating and fine tuning the light after fixing the focus. On its own it makes great jpegs even though I often go for a higher contrast black and white for the end product. Your Lighthouse recipe fits this bill as well as a couple of others that I keep on X-Raw if I want to create a high contrast photo. Fne tuning the exposure before shooting is not so accurate/sensitive with a high contrast recipe.
Kevin, I love that some of your recipes can be used in my XT3. Thank you. As these days, older Fujifilm cameras are neglected in terms of creating new film simulations. Greetings from Poland.
Thank you, Kevin!!! These are all great but Lighthouse is KILLER! It's now my absolute favorite B&W recipe. Just took it for a spin today in my X100V and wow, it's got a real FP4 vibe to it, with lots of contrast without losing the subtle tones in between. And the way it responds to different light conditions, it's almost indistinguishable from film. BTW I've found that +1/3 EV is pretty much spot on all the time.
Thanks for sharing these, Kevin. Look forward to trying these out. Hope you get well soon. Seems a bad year for allergies, I’ve had hay fever for the first time in a decade.
Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏼 I’m new to the Fujifilm system so I appreciate you taking the time to try out and share these. What I seem to struggle to find is a recipe inspired by the late Peter Lindbergh. I love the tones in his BNW photography. Do you have anything like that? Or have you seen any recipes like that?
There is only a certain amount of latitude with JPEG recipes and it may be that you'll need to go into Lightroom to get something closer to what you want to achieve. Good luck.
Been loving your videos! Do you have a recco B&W recipe for darker toned individuals? I enjoyed Newpaper but found the impact contrast to darker skin tones made it tough to use
As allways great recipes. Your explanations relating to the recipes, showing what is the mood, atmoshere using them. Awesome! Would like to see also from you a recipe for natural plants or landscapes, with a litlle bit more green in it. As an alternative. Anyway, the best side for high quality recipes. THANKS for sharing your experience.
Appreciate the same photo samples for each profile - most don't do that so hard to understand difference. Great video. One quick question, if I may - no mention of dynamic range in the recipes. You mentioned at begining that if nothing mentioned it is off. In case of dynamic range do you set to "Auto" or to "DR100" which I understand to be the base? Many thanks again.
Thanks for these Kevin, well timed as my X100VI arrived yesterday! Just a question on using grain effects with Acros film sims - I was under the impression that grain effects would interfere with the grain built into Acros?
Acros does have grain already in it. Adding grain doesn't interfere as such, but certainly adds more. You may prefer to not add the grain but the built in grain in Acros is extremely subtle.

Really nice, Kev, definitely going to try a few of these. Might I also say that the image of the bride looking in the mirror is absolutely amazing 🤩
Thanks, Alex :-)

Thank you. And yes, Hayfever has been particularly bad this year for me. Hope yours isn't too bad.
Get well soon Kevin. Thank you for this. Looking forward to try them.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for sharing & taking the time to put all together Kevin. One problem just. I think I'll need more custom settings in my X-Pro3. 😁
😂😎👍

who else has Fuji RAW studio open while watching this? Naming the Lighthouse and Pure Grit with a Mullens Prefix into my VI
:-)
Cheers for those Kevin.
No probs :-)
Greetings from France... Thanks for sharing
Welcome!
Hey Kevin. What about WB? Are you using WB Auto on all recipes from this video? Thanks!
Yes, always Auto WB as the Fujifilm sensors do an amazing job at that.
@@kevin_mullins thank you!

Thanks. I keep my DR at 100% all the time (which is the equivalent to "Off").
@@kevin_mullins I have an additional question - how do you test different profile settings for the same shots?
@@piotr27b I use Fujifilm X-Raw Studio software. It's free to use.
@@kevin_mullins Thank you for the fast reponse. Best regards and I will test your settings.

No problem.
What do you set the dynamic range to? Auto?
My DR is always set to 100%.
what is the color setting?
It's one of the custom JPEG Settings.

All my own work, I can assure you. I use ChatGPT to aid my descriptions to make them easier for people to understand. It's a great tool for that. 👍
@kevin_mullins Thanks for clarifying. Happy to hear your content is authentic :-)
