I just listened to this album earlier today, not knowing that Gary Numan still was doing music...Loved it, to put it simply. Some of the best Industrial Rock music I've heard in a long long time.

One of only a few musicians who stills create relevant, cutting edge music 35+ years later. Numan's newer music (since 1995) is as good as his early career in the late 70s / early 80s.
And getting even better..! ;)

i discovered gary numan around september 2017. It's april 2018 now, and i listened to Are friends electric at least once a day, everyday since then. I literally can't get tired of that song. It just speaks to my soul somehow

Reznor and Numan are actually friends. Trent has credited Numan with being a major music influence on him growing up and has done a few Numan covers. In an interview for Amoeba Music “What’s in My Bag?”, Numan credited Reznor with inspiring him (Numan’s wife introduced him to Pretty Haye Machine and he was hooked) and called Nine Inch Nails “probably the best band ever”. When Numan and his family immigrated to the US, Reznor even wrote him a testimonial letter for immigration authorities.
And yet he's from my time period as I had his Pleasure Principle album back in the early 80's. But, you know, we're "square" and stupid. Huh, go figure.....

When I was 13 A.F.E. was one of the best songs I'd ever heard!
What's amazing is that Gary first appeared on shows like this and Top Of The Pops and helped him rocket to stardom, and now here he is again in all his glory alongside the next generation. I really hope Persia decides to pursue music further, but even if she doesn't, I'm sure whatever she decides to do, her dad will be proud of her. Gary is such a fantastic dad and husband to his family. Their closeness really touches the heart.
He and Persia are awesome!!! They should do a remake of “Cars!!!”
Hard to top a classic
I like the contrast between the song lyrics and what is a wholesome family moment performing together.
As a dad of a 6 and a 13 year old I'm just so delighted by everything going on here. Every time he glances over at his daughter and you can see the pride and enjoyment Gary's having despite the somber tone of the song, it's so good.
Liquid Gold.....as an artist he's simply never failed to deliver! My Name Is Ruin is simply mind blowing plus Are Friends Electric has to be one of the best tracks ever!
He should seriously consider redoing some of his songs with her on backing vocals
Her voice meshes so well with the synthesizer lines and she adds a certain soft feminine touch that would contrasts nicely with the somewhat robotic hard Industrial Groove he has

James Brousseau Quite a good idea...perhaps you could email his web site with this suggestion...I used to be a publicist in Boston (I now reside in Hollywood), and you would be remarkably surprised to learn just how uncomplicated it would be to contact Numan's agent. A very good marketing idea, indeed!

Gary is relevant and fresh as the day he first walked on stage. More so! His daughter is amazing too. Band is tight together. This album is solid. Love playing bass to it.

We saw Gary Numan last year he was fantastic, recommend to go see him what a great voice and great band.

Yeah there is a track they are playing on top of,but the dummer's definitely playing over the top of it,and his daughter's doing vocals live over the other vocals,and I hear guitar in this,but bass guitar not so much on Ruin.

him up there with his kid, and she fit right in. He should get her up there for more songs.
