  • The Rubicon Trail is a 22-mile-long route, part road and part 4x4 trail, located in the Sierra Nevada of the western United States, due west of Lake Tahoe and about 80 miles east of Sacramento.
    We took a day trip to the trail and attempted to make it to the Little Sluce. Due to the busy weekend traffic and broken rigs we fell short and only made it to the top of Walker Hill. This trail will forever be special to me because of the fact that I asked my girlfriend to marry me. She said yes!

      I honestly didn't think I was recording when that happened, but I'm glad I was. It was too funny not to put in the video.

      @@NotICON Thanks for doing the vids. Nice to see some reviews of the local trails. A club I belong to actually maintains Long Canyon Trail. What GoPro are you using and what vlogging camera? Oh yeah, congrats on the upcoming nuptials!

      I ran Long Canyon last year, but didn’t know about the section with the rock formation that looks like a mushroom. I was told about it after the trip, so I may have to go back. I’m using a GoPro 6 and 7 as well as a DJI Osmo +.

    Great content just subscribed.. My brother in law and I live in the Sacramento area and just did the Strawberry Pass trail in or Jeeps with the fam.. Had a lot of fun.. What trails would you recommend with similar or slightly harder difficulties in our area?

    • @NotICON

      Thank your for your support. Sourgrass and Signal Peak are some of my favorite trails and they offer around the same difficulty level. I do think that Signal Peak offers a more diverse amount of obstacles.

      Man we have to go wheeling some time!! I’m fairly new to wheeling and it would be cool to wheel with a group that has so much experience.

      hey Jorge, just a heads up, I'm not sure if they're doing it this year due to the lockdowns and all, but the Jeep Jamboree and the Jeepers Jamboree are usually the last two weekends in July and they reserve the trail so you can't go without a ticket.

    Would you believe i ran the entire thing stock in 2018?

    • @NotICON
      @NotICON  4 роки тому +1

      I know Jeeps are capable of doing the whole trail stock, but its hard even when you have a somewhat built Jeep. You must have really had to work to get through some of the areas.

    • @jlopes68
      @jlopes68 4 роки тому

      @@NotICON we timed our trip, BFG and Jeep were holding sponsored events with the new JL. we went in between events, trail was fairly manicured compared to this visit. i wanted the best possible chance of success, running it stock. we had already done it twice in the JK.

    • @NotICON
      @NotICON  4 роки тому +1

      How long did it take you to run the trail stock? You did it in a 2 door right?

    • @jlopes68
      @jlopes68 4 роки тому +1

      @@NotICON yes, a 2 door. It took about the same. Around 8 hours to get to the cascades on buck island. Then just a couple hours to Rubicon springs and then a couple hours up Cadillac hill. We stay 2 nights at both camps tho.

      @NotICON  4 роки тому +1

      @@jlopes68 thats awesome. I do want to do another trip where I camp out a couple more nights along the way.
