Thanks for this! I really love your philosophy for gardening. Honestly, it's an amazing philosophy for life! There's so much media out there constantly inviting us to compare ourselves to others and these comparisons can really hurt our self-esteem, sense of wellbeing, and drive us to pursue perfectionism! Life is sooooo much better when we can stop thinking about all that other stuff and just relish the process of living
If you have them in pots keep them away from any cracks in the ground or soil and also any other pots! Mine grew a huge root into my poor blueberry next to it. They're aggressive growers, but I do still love them.
Mugwort is THE WORST. I fight a losing battle with it every year. 😭😭 I’ve even tried to plant mint because at least I like that and can use it, but the mugwort is still winning. Crazy how powerful it is. Good luck!!
I just hacked the elderberry in my back yard right back in late winter. It grow so huge that I couldn't reach the berries and right over the fence. It sent out so many runners and has grown back with great vigour already. Hopeful of getting some fruit this summer. I might need to trim it bag again before the season is out. I wouldn't worry about it having to compete with your mugwort at all! Have you made tea or dye with the mugwort?
Nice, I can't wait to see how they come along👨🌾👩🌾
Me too!

I completely agree! Life is messy and so is the garden 😅💚
We have elder berries growing wild ever where here they are such a lovely harvest
The best!
I love my elderberry bush. After 3 years, I've finally been able to harvest the berries for my homemade immunity syrup.
The best medicine!

Whew! Hopefully that’s a good sign they’ll be able to take on this mugwort

I haven’t done tea or dye yet! I need to start embracing it, maybe there’s a reason it’s growing here haha
Can you do a video on how to make elderberry syrup I wanna start mine from seeds next year
I have one wayyy back on my IG somewhere
What zone is she located in? I was under the impression (maybe naively, based on the name?) she was in Georgia?
Never mind, just saw 10 seconds after I posted she mentioned she’s in zone 6 😂
Yep zone 6! I get that a lot with the name 😅
I traded some mulberry cuttings for elderberry cuttings and they rooted so easily. I ended up with 15 elderberry plants 🤣 🤦♂️.
That’s the way it seems to go 😅
