    My granny used the old hand crank homemade ice cream deal. My goodness was that the most delicious ice cream ever. Miss those days so much, and I so very, very much miss my precious granny and papa, both. Life was never the same after they passed

    I don't know how old this is but you are awesome. I came here to find out if the center paddle was supposed to be stationary or not and you answered it within the first 30 seconds of the video. This is awesome and you really know what you're doing at least in the ice cream making videos. appreciate it and have a great 2024!

    I like things to be evenly distributed from the get-go, but yes through the rotation, the ice will settle.

    I didn't have rock salt so I used the salt I put on my driveway to melt ice. Seems to work fine and can be found for cheaper.

      Thanks for watching, a lot of driveway melter is just rock salt, so yes that is a potential alternative, I would stay away from some of those artificial ice melters, you don't want that tho end up in your food.

    My late mother left an unused Rival ice cream maker in which I claimed. Just opened the box the manual is missing. Thank you for your video to help enlighten me. I have a question.
    1. Can I use kosher or sea salt as a substitute of ice cream salt?

    • @TheBelgianwaffleman
      @TheBelgianwaffleman 3 роки тому +2

      Sorry to hear about your mother. The bigger the salt crystals the better, you don’t want them to melt too fast. So maybe sea salt may be better than kosher salt.

      @@TheBelgianwaffleman Cool! I have the Course Sea Salt. The crystals are 3 times the size of the fine version of any salt. Thank you very much.

    I use salt to melt ice outside on my sidewalk. Not sure it would keep ice frozen.

    Appreciate it! I downloaded the rival manual bc I bought one second hand and it didn't have actual instructions! Just precarious recipes lol

      Thanks! I love this ice cream maker, especially since it can do bigger amounts of ice cream.

    Hello! I just attempted to make ice cream with this machine and when I lifted it, all of the ice cream spilled out through the bottom of the metal can. Is it supposed to have a hole in the bottom? Or is the cab supposed to be solid on the bottom? It seems like a silly question, but we are puzzled. Thanks!

      The can is supposed to be solid on the bottom.

    So it is ok if the whole metal cilinder spins? Because I thought it wasn't meant to, but mine does that and I thought it was broken because my cilinder has a dent

      Yes, actually the dasher does not move, the can has to move

    I don't have a dasher with my machine. Can it still works?

    • @icecreamblogger1118
      @icecreamblogger1118  5 років тому

      Without the dasher the ice cream maker is useless. Rival has a website rivalproducts.com maybe you can contact them for a replacement dasher, I didn’t see it on their online store . Thank you for watching the video!

    If it’s going in a circular motion I don’t think it matters if you put it on “both” sides lol
