  • Due to the ongoing cab car shortage, both F40PH-2CATs that remain active on NJ Transit have been placed into revenue service to fill in on the east end of trains. 4120 was last in revenue service on 2-4-2014, and has once again temporarily rejoined as of 10-2-2018. Here is a video of 4120 leading X132 in Lyndhurst at Disposal Road heading back to Hoboken. GP40PH-2B 4207 brings up the rear.

Yes I quite agree. Such a shame it's been out of service for so long.

It was used in non-revenue service with 4119 during those four years.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't those GP40PH-2bs come from the New Jersey Central Railroad?

Expect it on 1215/X120. Both take the Main Line.

It also does 1009/1061 on the Boonton Line. X120 leaves Waldwick to go east at 4:50.
