  • Today is the third day of my Ironman Mont Tremblant Training block. A lot of my training has changed over the last few months. I am practicing some new things heading into Mont Tremblant. One of them is doing a lot more quality driven in my training. I also have changed up my nutrition plan for the Ironman Distance and look to test that in Ironman MT.

      Of course he is EXTREMELY fit. But do you really think anyone would race clear? When it’s for money and sponsors? Nah. Lionel is on the juice like every top hitter. EPO has only 4 hours half-life.

      @maxtrautmann3107 6 років тому +1

      Marian FD maybe doesn’t look great but he mentioned what all matter on the race was speed/determination not style
      The thing is that the guy who win is the faster

    • @MarianFD
      @MarianFD 6 років тому +9

      Max Trautmann yeah I know. But a “pretty” running technique is so not by fashion or style, but because of efficiency. He probably would run faster or at the same pace putting in less effort if he had a nice technique, therefore being faster. But hey, he can do whatever he wants still. Also, im a jan fan 🤘🏽

    • @nbrowne1
      @nbrowne1 6 років тому +1

      Marian FD technique is combo of practice and anatomy. Great insight into this is IAAF biomechanics study. Eg "The data captured on 10,000m champion Almaz Ayana shows a difference up of up to 20cm between the length of her strides from right to left (her right to left is longer than left of right)" www.google.ca/amp/s/www.iaaf.org/news/amp/press-release/2017-world-championships-athletics-biomechani

    • @nuno9733
      @nuno9733 6 років тому +2

      Humans have the same anatomy, the differences are irrelevant. The stride lenght is mainly influenced by the athlete's strength - technique deals more with the transition from flight to landing and vice versa. Lionel's poor form isn't anatomical, it's laziness. He simply doesn't practice technique.

    • @nbrowne1
      @nbrowne1 6 років тому +1

      Nuno Coelho his comments on technique in latest video don't count as working on it? You obviously don't watch his videos if you think he's lazy at anything related to triathlon....

      Tomas Azevedo I agree 👍 People need to go with their intuition on what food is best for them, every individual is different. I wasn't having a dig of course, you just have to look at those athletes around the world who've gone vegan, then all of a sudden outperformed their previous achievements. Either way, I ain't as fit as Lionel, too many babies and not enough time to train haha

      NYC OK Not really. A week is enough to make it second nature and probably a month for the muscles to adapt. Not smart to do it before a competition though, it's something to be made off-season or in the beginning of the season.

      Nuno Coelho A week is not enough. A year might not be enough for an average runner. Ritzenhein took more than a year to stop heel striking, and he ran into major injuries while doing that. Sanders is very heavy compared to Ritz at 120 lbs. Most importantly, Sanders can't change his stride, because he doesn't seem to understand what the problem is. Once he stops being obsessed with his swimming mechanics that he's been working on for half a decade, he might get to improving his running form. Not this season, not this year, and probably not the next one, because after winning at Kona he won't have the motivation to improve.

      He's pushing with his quads/hams instead of bouncing with his calves, typical among cyclists. With barefoot running, takes ~1 minute for his body to autocorrect, otherwise he'll brake his bones. To make it second nature, drills before and after running, then ice in inflamed muscles/tendons. In a month he'll have proper technique.

      Every cell in the human body runs on glucose and glucose only. Fruit is the perfect nutritional package of fiber to slow sugars, antioxidants and nutrients for the cell, easy to digest and fills the glycogen stores. It’s is optimal fuel for endurance. Please research Rich Roll or nutritionfacts.org for the science behind what is optimal fuel for the human body. Education is key.

      IronVegan RMT fruit is a major source of fibre by the make up of the pericarp, epicarp, and mesocarp structures. When ingested your body will break these down. When you blend them your drinking pure sugar. Not disputing the glucose within.

      IronVegan RMT if you blend vegetable your do actually release more of the vitamins within the dense structure that your body struggles to breakdown. With fruit there is no sugar. Drinking this quantity of fruit is huge in one sitting. Thanks for your reply.

    Lots of exaggeration in these videos fyi. not sure if too please his own ego or to "scare" competition but there is a lot of BS

      Example? Some of his statements may come across as exaggeration, but if you've followed him long enough you realize he's honest, esp with himself, and tends to back up what he says. Continually setting a higher bar in training and race goals, and making it public, is also an effective way to self-motivate and hold oneself accountable. Yes, some of it may be to put his competition on notice, but if you can do what you say then it's not BS. Most of the top triathletes do this, like Frodo, Kienle and Brownlee to name a few - they believe strongly in themselves and are very self confident. Most great athletes need to be if they want to be at the top of their sport's food-chain, so to speak, but at the end of the day they all walk the talk, otherwise their words would eventually fall flat. They may not always achieve the result they want, for whatever reason, i.e. Frodo at Kona last year, but that sports.
