I really hope they go FULL HORROR with the Rakghouls in the remake, that would be so awesome! Don't forget to answer today's question in the comments below!
Will they implement an option to be permanently infected by the disease (with countdown included) until you and your teammates receive the antidote though?
i was scared of them, i always felt unnerved when i exited the outcast village out the gate, i avoided exploring lower sewers because it so often freaked me out so i went by the shortest way to free zaalbaar and b lined it to forcefield and onto the upper sewers which were safer.
I was excited when I heard about these creatures in my first play through of KOTOR. I'm always spoiling for a fight in these kinds of games. I reasoned that the best way to kill these things was with ranged weapons. I opted to have 2 of my characters engage them with ranged weapons and have my main character (who was a soldier) tank them. I also would use concussion grenades to stun them and that usually made fighting them a lot easier. I made sure to defeat every group of them that I could find... and even went back for seconds after I finished the quests. Just used those respawning mobs to level.
I first played kotor when I was 4 and didn't really knw how to progress in the game so I was just always on taris and starting new games. I remember a time where I was kinda shit scared of the rakghouls and going thru the undercity and sewers. I'll never forget how gassed I was when I was older and finally made it off taris, good times.
They should bring them back into canon. They can be like the vampires from "The Strain", an ancient plague spread through magic, thats a hive mind and as the raks progress we find intelligent raks, force sensitive ones, and different types like xenomorphs. They can be a great new villian for Star Wars.
They'd need to adjust the Rakghoul a little but I'd love a resident evil style series in Star Wars. Sadly, because star wars must be accessible to children I don't see this happening. Also, if Quentin Tarantino was willing to tell a star wars story I'd be over the moon with anticipation.
Maybe fuse them with the Death Troopers, it'll probably be easier to have people turn into zombies then monsters on set. Plus, they were both made by the Old Sith, so they're very similar.
@@levongevorgyan6789 and @Lugubrious Australia I made a Star Wars Saga Edition campaign that used the Death Troopers and had some parts of the Rakghouls in it. That campaign made my players panic and freak out at every time I said "Roll Perception" good times
Amazing and extraordinary video my friend. The Rakghouls scare me so I don't want to see them again. I was amazed that Vader, Luke, Han and Leia encountered them in the future
I’ve felt the plague was a tribute to “The Thing” Now that said, shame to the guy on the Swtor Fb group who reported the event announcement to be medical misinformation. For you have failed Darth Nox for the last time.
It would be cool to see the disease and to see a live action raghoul, I think it would look a bit like nydak. But I think we'll never see one again in the Disney canon.
Would assume that the plague was ultimately curbed as of TOR's end, but unfortunately, since it's a bloody MMO, we don't know when the end will come, and if it does, will it be a satisfying conclusion or a sputtering mess due the MMO failing or something?
With how Disney is killing star wars, I don't think they will reintroduce them. Its a bit too scary or extreme for them. I mean, for a series called star wars, they don't really like showing people getting killed what should be literally by the millions to billions. As that should be about the number that would happen in interstellar conflicts.
I was reading the dark times comics not knowing that Celeste was in this series, it's really sad that she turned a favorite character of mine into a Rakghoul
I was hoping that the episode that had the Devaronian and the pyke syndicate in Bad Batch was going to reintroduce them into canon because of the name of the episode.
They could reintroduce it to canon, and make the ring station from the last episode of The Book of Boba Fett part of a wider network built by the Old Republic or Sith Empire too eradicate the plague (or at least the lifeforms that it could infect)... That's never been done before right?
Rakghouls would be a great plot point for future story, especially when they've been doing stuff after ROTJ. They could easily use a lot of interesting stuff from that era, like the Yuuzhan Vong, Darth Krayt, Abeloth, or more of the imperial remnant like they've already used. This would be especially good if they produced stuff contradictory to the disastrous recent trilogy, especially how they handled Palpatine. His resurgence in the older stuff was a lot better and made more sense.
The Rhakgoul plague creeped me out as a kid when playing through KOTOR1. Man watching your videos makes me want to play KOTOR if only my console wasn't broken... Have you done a video on Thame Cerulian? I'm currently reading through the Jedi Path and he's written his thoughts a lot in this book and I'm curious to know learn about him more.
Did you ever go over the Kotor 2 artwork "that never happened". All the Atris vs Nihilus Desktop wallpaper that we never saw in the game. Why was this?
I mean, it could have been planned but cut due to them being rushed to get it out before Xmas that year, but it’s honestly just likely it was made during the production before they changed the story or decided on it. So she could have been set up to fight him with you, then change in plans made that never happen. Also the art could have been to suggest like she was good and supposed to fight him, but then obviously in the game we find out she’s much more dark side/ has completely fallen in the end and so it was just misleading so you wouldn’t catch on Atris is evil
Kaon Under Siege or KUS as we called it was a very hard Flashpoint when it first came out in SWTOR, but I really liked it, the story in it was very interesting. I thought there was another Rakghoul flashpoint that came out at the same time but it seems I was wrong
It would be cool to see what the Remake could do with the Rakghouls i would also like to see them go into a more horror direction with them. You know how in the game Dying Light there are these special infected called Volitiles they are though Zombies that only show up at night in the game and can absolutley wreck the player in the early game wich of course makes them pute horror in Dying lights early game. I would like to see the Rakghouls be treated like the Volitiles in the remake is basicaly what in saying
And perhaps more of a deformed human look then completely different depending on the stage of infection. Having them just magically poof into a weird three toad creature seems a little dated.
Everything in TOR, to my knowledge, takes place closer to the KOTOR games, 3 1/2 thousand years before the original Star Wars climatic battle, known as the Battle Of Yavin. SW timelines use BBY (before battle of Yavin), and ABY (after battle of Yavin), for measurements. As such time has past, the galaxy is different during the chronological point of the original film. Also, unless something has been retconned, I believe any surviving members of the sith species were either on Korriban, or beyond known space.
Where will the KOTOR Remake stand in canon? If it's being made with the blessing of Disney then wouldn't it be canon, which would likely bring the Rakghouls with it.
I despise the High Republic on principle but I must admit the Rakghoul's would be a good villainous force for them to face, if you twisted my arm and forced me to write for it. In other opinions I honestly think the Old Republic to New Sith Wars transition is criminally underexplored.
We haven't seen anything from EU being included in the new canon and not being messed with severely so I'd keep the Rakghoul plague away from the canon. They could mess it up badly, even if a weird zombie plague seems kinda hard to ruin. Good video, I enjoyed it a lot
The Rakghouls should overpower the sequel trilogy, except for Han, Leia, Luke, Finn, and Poe. Abeloth would then swallow the Rakghouls, and would go back to her own place. No more plague, but peace in the galaxy, & a new Jedi Order.
I prefer the rackghoul plague to say the blackwing virus. Blackwing are literal zombies and I'm not the biggest fan, but the rackghoul are something more dark and twisted and I like they're backstory. Gotta show some love to the sithspawn
The Rakghouls aren’t zombies because they aren’t dead. They are a species of their own (and even capable of sexual reproduction, which zombies definitely aren’t).
No it didn’t. Watch the video and you’d know that. And if it didn’t last till modern Star Wars times, which it did in legends, it still would have lasted until the events of the mmo. Which is set after the very thing you referenced and that was hundreds of years after the planet was “glassed”
No you’re totally correct. I’m just thinking back to the last time I played KOTOR 1, and how the disease wasn’t really referenced after escaping the planet of Terris. I never got around to the other non-cannon games that were a bit less mainstream when compared to KOTOR 1 and 2.
Could you imagine surviving the bombardment somehow only to see something you've probably never even heard of crawl from the depths of the remains of your planet?
I really hope they go FULL HORROR with the Rakghouls in the remake, that would be so awesome! Don't forget to answer today's question in the comments below!
I’m glad you agree! Lol
I really hope they make it super super scary.
The rakghouls are so horrific and yet amazing addition to Star Wars and I hope they are mentioned more
Will they implement an option to be permanently infected by the disease (with countdown included) until you and your teammates receive the antidote though?
Yes!! Make it where if you die of the poison effects, you get a unique death animation where you turn into one.
Yes but also please no. Just played Uncharted 1 and nearly had a heart attack at THAT part
Thus ends a 4,093+ years long comic book story arc... may the Force be with you, Celeste Morne.
i was scared of them, i always felt unnerved when i exited the outcast village out the gate, i avoided exploring lower sewers because it so often freaked me out so i went by the shortest way to free zaalbaar and b lined it to forcefield and onto the upper sewers which were safer.
Bruh I can kill groups of them

The rakghouls are pure nightmare fuel and the whole vector crossover is so amazing
Someone FINALLY made a comprehensive video combining all the Legends lore, including everything from SWTOR. Keep up these lore vids, you're amazing!
Cade Skywalker AND THE TRUE STORY OF THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
Rakghouls are a lot more dangerous and have a ton more lore then I had originally though. o.o
It never ended, it lingers on too this day slumbering in the shadows waiting for some poor soul too stumble upon it..

Please explain?
There were plenty of jokes about doing that when the event came up during the Covid lockdowns. I didn't know someone actually reported it.
I’ll be on my death bed on day with the full memory of the first time I got absolutely mobbed by the first ones you met hahahaha
30 seconds in and the sarcastic(sort of?) entrance was enough to subscribe given previous videos were also commonly enjoyable.
It would be cool to see the disease and to see a live action raghoul, I think it would look a bit like nydak. But I think we'll never see one again in the Disney canon.
Arent the nydaks those dino-apes on Dathomir from JFO?
Seriously. Give me "Aliens" with Rakghouls, and I'm a very happy man.

Yes, Crys Taanzer was someone who I was hoping would survive to after ROTJ.

You ever play Swtor? Not only did it never end, but it's out in the galaxy now lol.
I fucking hate that they took this cool, scary, infectious fungal monster-sickness and turned it into just... a magic necklace from a WOW drop.
Love your VIDEOS BRO! thanks for this
Tecknitly the Rakgouls plague is like a zombie out break. Well for Star Wars at least.
Look at the techno beasts
I hope the surviving Rakghouls evolve and become Nekghouls. No longer being able to infect, but regain their old selves.
Great vid as always man!!
I think this would make a good star wars horror movie a way darker tone than control of the galaxy
I agree!
They could reintroduce it to canon, and make the ring station from the last episode of The Book of Boba Fett part of a wider network built by the Old Republic or Sith Empire too eradicate the plague (or at least the lifeforms that it could infect)... That's never been done before right?
The rakghouls scared me as a kid, man.
THE RAKGHOULS ARE ON THE LIVE ON SWTOR SERVERS EVENT CURRENTLY/NOW ON TATTONIE!!!!!
Wait rakghoul plague spread between both people on tatooine? I mean that would be the easiest planet to stop it lol

It would have been a great subplot during the Clone Wars or using them it the Bad Batch series
I think they should keep them I loved this unique disease and thinks it's cool and creepy
Ok, crossover episode idea. Rakghouls post bombardment vs the Flood in Halo
i will literally go out of my way in that game to never interact with them

Lost Island.
This is the side of SW I want to SEE MORE of!
Agreed a lot of potential for more horror plots
@LarsZr yes more of that please
Can't wait to see them in the kotor remake.
I think it would be really cool if they have mando go to mandalore to regain his title as mandalorian and he encounters rakghouls
This plague is to dangerous to be reintroduced.
It's hard to believe that after all this time they have not been able to replicate the serum from KOTOR I.
Sith Spirits have a thing in common there are always destroyed by dark Jedi/Force-User (Exar Kun & Cade Skywalker).
Watching this video, i realised how the new COVID variant would look like...

Hard to ruin? Kathleen Kennedy would like a word with you on how hard it is to ruin supposedly difficult to ruin things.
@@mistertaz94 Yeah I know, almost the whole comment of mine addressed that. That woman is the death of star wars personified.
Yes, yes they should
monster infighting is the best idea to end the plague. however, people still have the stupid idea of siccing the undead on the living instead.

Is one of the few Legends concepts that i don't like because i don't like the zombie plague theme in general. It's overused and always identic.
Understandable, but in the end, we should accept it for being existent and all.
