I just got my shimano talica 16 2 speed and l can wait try it. I saw some guys with old penn reels. I have been on 3 ten day trips and you must buy quality equipment. Phenix, calstar, or seeker rods. Avet 2 speed reels, shimano 2 speeds, accurate 2 speed okuma 2 speed, and etc. If you hook up to a trophy fish your equipment must not let you down.
I have both reels and they are both great. Talica 16 2 speed matches with a 7ft heavy terez almost perfectly and does a great job. Trinidad 16 is a great reel for a 8ft terez m to mh action rod in my opinion.
The fact that you landed that fish despite the other fishers trying to make you lose it is a testament to your skills! I would have been like back the blank up off me Fish On!!

@@otroflores91 This is sport fishing. Style and technique used to matter. When I go hunting I don't use a drone to find game. That would be unsportsmanlike ....overkill. But you're right I shouldn't bag on the guy for fishing with the gear he has.

BigMeatyGaming I bought this rod a long time ago. I believe they discontinued the other colors and went straight black only. Occasionally you can find some for sale on eBay. Good luck !

After 3 10 trips learned my lesson buy quality equipment. You will always have confidence in your equipment.

xzinx you should be fine. Tac 16 is a 60-80lb setup reel. I just prefer the heavy action.

krisowiec they are both great reels but for my style of fishing I prefer the 2 speed and lever drag.
