AND THEN, a day before the trailer came out, we got confirmation that it's basically a whole new game, just alongside a gens remaster. Now we are here, people excited for this game again. It has been a wild week...

Still not that excited for it if it's forcefully attached to the Generations remaster. I already bought that game twice, I won't buy a third time full price solely for the Shadow content. Which no we still don't know if it will be a full game. It could easily just be a few stages like Episode Shadow from Forces. Granted, it seems to have a lot more effort put into it, but still, we don't know much about the Shadow part of the game other than the fact it might be more akin to Frontiers gameplay than to Generations.
Honestly, I'm actually really happy with the decision to make it essentially a generations remaster + a bonus shadow campaign because generations has aged pretty well graphically in my 720p eyes so a remaster that basically just adds higher res textures and 4K 60fps wouldn't really be worth it
the fact that they have shadow doin' more punch and kicky shit in the cinematics makes me wonder if they'll have combat integrated into his gameplay to separate him more from sonic and classic sonic, like how he was in 06

Well if Black Doom is going to be the main Villain of the game maybe his boss fight will end with him getting away and pulling a, "this isn't even my final form" and then he turns into devil doom and will be the final boss of the story. Maybe it could have a similar structure to base gens where you have to collect the chaos emeralds to unlock the final boss, having Devil Doom as the final boss would be so awesome. And maybe for the mephiles boss fight maybe they could have a slight horror approach to it. Maybe his first phase would be a standard chase similar to the eggman boss of the game where he throws dark orbs at you and there's some obstacles for you to avoid. And the boss arena could be either flame core or the pyramid in Dusty desert. And then his second phase would be more interesting where he turns the entire world around you dark and his little shadow minions are crawling all over shadow and he goes into your.. shadow and you have defeat a certain amount of minions to get chaos blast to get them off of you before to many get on you giving mephiles a chance to strike. If you're successful Shadow will not only light up the arena but get mephiles out of your shadow and be able to strike him. And the his final phase could be the best part. He covers the floor in darkness and turns into a bunch of giant mephiles creatures in a giant circle area. And you have to destroy 5 of them to reveal the real mephiles but then he turns into a Giant and his his little minions return as well as the bigger ones and you have to aim for the Gian mephiles but the platforms are tricky and the little mephiles will try to slow you down and the giants will be in you way. For shadow to defeat mephiles he will have to use a homing attack on a eagle statue to get him back to normal size and then hit him one last time to defeat him. This is just how I thought it could be.
The controls seems to be using frontiers' as a basis, which is very good, since its pretty responsive already. They seem to be adjusting and changing it too, the homing attack doesn't have that hitstop that frontiers has for example
Pretty surprising that Black Doom is the big bad, when Mephiles had the time powers to take Shadow through time. But I guess Mephiles was removed from time entirely (translation: Sega is still afraid of acknowledging Sonic 06).
@@shaulov10 Black Doom can’t warp reality. He used some sort of psychic link to mess with Shadow and he used some gas to immobilise everyone else. He does have incredible power, especially when he has all the emeralds, but so far I don’t remember him ever bending reality in any way.
Finally somebody mentioned the chaos spear. I actually hope not just for shadow we get new levels foe sonic as well Like Sanopolis, Scrap Brain, Flame Core, Since we have Shadow, we can have a race between the 2. And i hope ian flynn writes the shadow story.
This game will probably be released around the time the Switch 2 comes out. So it will probably look very good on the Switch 2. We will soon get a Nintendo Direct so maybe it will be mentioned
Im glad Shadow is getting all the attention this year. 2014-15 were hard times, especially as a Shadow fan. Back then I wish Sega would stop making Shadow like Vegeta and let Shadow be the goat like he was in SA2 n 06 but I lost faith thxs to Boom n TSR. Thought it was gonna be a pipe dream that Sega/Sonic Team would respect Shadow, but thxs to the Sonic Movies, now this year has become a reality and I love it. The only thing I wish now for this year is see Team Dark rise again since Prime didn't do it. I hope the next game or project brings back Team Dark cuz their relationship in Heroes n 06 were solid
If I had to gamble it's gonna be 3 stages (final chase, Radical/Westopolis), ???) MAYBE 1 rival battle (Mephilis, Infinite or some form of sonic vs shadow for the true story) and 1boss (Biolizard).

I have some worries about this game, knowing Sega, this could flop kinda like Superstars did (please don't flop) 1 The controls might be bad or in the best case scenario, kinda like frontiers which isn't bad at all, but it might look weak compared to the high adrenaline boost gameplay from the base game 2 The level design could be bad, kinda like what happened for some Superstars stages 3 They might not go full dark mode for the story (AKA Maria), because that happened in Frontiers where a cutscene ends right after something is about to happen 4 Mario fans... yup just mario fans, I don't want mario fans to compare every single thing to bowser's fury juat to make Gens look bad which might turn people away from the game (which happened to Superstars) 5 The game could be overpriced/the content might not be enough to justify its price However, I could be completely wrong and this game might be the first 9/10 we had in YEARS

Shadows Generations looks amazing BUT I can’t lie, I am very worried about the Level Design/Physics as the Final Rush Section looked Solid but the Westopolis Section was a Straight line. Aside from that the Animation and Graphics are insane, but most unfortunate is they’re STILL USING THE LOST WORLD SPRING THAT DOESNT HAVE THE YELLOW LINE RAAAAHHHH
