Sorry for multiple comments, commenting as watching ^^ It's "Maximum The Hormone", that's the drummer, bassist, guitarist and vocalist (though all but the bassist sing commonly) and "Atarashii Gakko" who are a J-pop group featuring in the song. They are the 4 in school type uniforms. They are also awesome by the way, but VERY different from Maximum The Hormone. Atarashii Gakko's music is not metal, but a lot of people who like metal like them because of their attitude, unhinged high energy, interesting dance and movement, and to some degree alternative idiosyncratic kinda feel.
Nao is the drummer (singer toward the end as well). She is the OG (Original Grandma) of female Japanese drummers, and counts Akane of Band-Maid and Tamu of Nemophila as disciples.

This is fantastic. Shimi is an older MTH track from 2007. AG fit into this collab incredibly well. MTH is pretty legandary in Japan and very influential. Hanabie started out as a MTH cover band and the drummers from Band-Maid & Nemophila were inspired by MTH's drummer, Nao (She was the last solo singer in the video) that girls could be drummers. Nemophila has also done 2 covers. MTH loves genre flips on a dime and it works perfectly. The visuals in this MV are phenomenal. Grungy, post apocalyptic, traditional Japanese culture, even some Japanese horror movie elements. Check out Satsui Vs Satsui, it's fire as well.
The CD version, sadly, doesn't have Rin's rap section. AG, the young women in sailor suit/school uniforms are an anti-idol song/dance unit who have just completed a highly energetic world tour. Although they don't play instruments they have a huge input into their songs which often have social commentary on modern Japan. They range from jazz, through rock, to almost pop and dance music, have a ton of videos online which include official music videos, official choreography videos, single take performances, and dance practice videos, all of which are well worth watching. They have been together for nearly ten years, do all their own choreography (and choreograph for others) and have worked with iconic performers. Well worth checking out. MTH have been around forever and are unique and highly influential as others will relate. Their drummer, Nao, especially has inspired many Japanese women to go into rock, especially behind the drums.
Phoenix's commentary was great. Thanks for including her. This was my introduction to Atarashii Gakko. I've heard a number of songs from them now, and they're always varied and sound like no one else out there. MtH is the same way, blending genre like a bartender blending different liquors to make aa great drink. I love the sledgehammer riff in the beginning of this song; it reminds me of "Hypnosis" by Nemophila and any number of Pantera riffs. Here's a tangent. I think the closest thing to actual geisha that the bands I listen to have included in their music is when BAND-MAID did an April Fool's joke back in 2018 and said they were changing their name to BAND-MAIKO (pronounced my - koh and meaning "apprentice geisha"), dressing as maiko, and incorporating traditional Japanese instruments into their music. They then released a video for "secret MAIKO lips" where their faces are painted, they've got the hair ornaments, the kimono, etc. The song was an updated version of their song "secret My lips" with samples of traditional instruments added. The video proved to be so popular that in 2019, they released an EP of some of their other older songs added, but there was one original song called "Gion-cho" which is one of my top songs from either version of that group. Gion, by the way, is a district/ward of Kyoto known for being where maiko and geisha work.
@@MrsRealistic I was lucky enough to see the original Pantera lineup twice. Once was at the Nutter Center near Dayton, Ohio when they opened for Black Sabbath on the reunion tour. Xalling MTH a "heavy metal band" seems inadequate. They bend, and, combine SO many different genres, they're really un-classifyable. There are 4 members of MTH, and, the 4 girls in Japanese school uniforms are the group Atarashii Gakko, Suzuka (w/ the glasses), Kanon ( long, straight hair), Rin (the rapper), and, Mizyu (the one playing the shamisen).

Atarashii Gakko are an extremely well known group in their own right ( rather than just dancers ) . They're a kind of alternative " performance / dance " group who've just recently finished a sold out US / Canada / MexicoTour and regularly sell out venues worldwide - they played Lollapalooza again this year and Coachella in addition to lots of other festivals . They did a version of their song " Otonablue " for The First Take channel on UA-cam a year ago which currently has had 70 MILLION views - which isn't bad ! Worth checking them out ( especially a Live version of their song " NaiNaiNai " which perfectly illustrates what a lunatic lead singer Suzuka is ! ). - ua-cam.com/video/DS9Nu-R7HAM/v-deo.html or this shorter clip ua-cam.com/video/Egl7k_aOypc/v-deo.html ENJOY !
Hello Mrs and Mini Realistic, one song you should check out is Jacoby Shaddix ( papa roach) and The HU. They are a medal band from Mongolia and they do Mongolian throat singing. They collaborated on a song called the Wolf Totem. Great reaction
You're more than welcome to watch the original Video. It was hard for us to both be on the screen the way we have my green screen set up... and after filming, I realized I hadn't sized our images down. I couldn't fix it even if I wanted to without filming it again, which defeats the purpose of a blind reaction. But, maybe reaction videos just aren't for you? Sorry you didn't enjoy it... but we sure loved watching it! 😁 Have a great day. 👍
@@MrsRealistic I honestly appreciate you responding, but please understand where I am coming from. Your video was not transformative, and that's important. A lot of effort and hard work went into making that music video, and the original creators deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. You did not put a lot, or any, effort into your video, but people are still watching your video. This is a problem because there is nothing in your video that a viewer couldn't get from the original video, and vice versa. Someone who watches your video has no reason to go watch the original. If you look at other music reaction channels, they stop the video and analyze the things in it. They give commentary and insight. They make it impossible to experience the whole of the original, but they create interest in the original, thus creating incentive to see the original. I appreciate that my initial comment was abrasive and I'll own that, but I stand by what I said.
I have MANY videos where I stop and talk a lot. I have some where I don't and I take it all in...(it's a little different as well when I'm reacting with my daughter...I stop it a lot less, as she's still pretty nervous on the camera...) but you know what? In the videos that I pause a lot, I get complaints that I talk too much and why don't I just enjoy the music? In the videos where I "just enjoy the music" and talk less, I get comments that I need to talk more and transform it. I will never please everyone, and I would go crazy if I tried because I would just be chasing my own tail. The original creators have their own channels and they get rewarded for their efforts. Reactors also bring them traffic, whether they talk a lot, or don't. It's a symbiotic relationship really. But in the end, you are seeing one song that I've done out of the 3 years worth that I've recorded. And people have the option to watch, or not watch my videos. There are reactors who people enjoy, but that doesn't mean that they'll love every video from that one reactor either. Not everything I do is going to be loved by everyone. That's the nature of being in the UA-cam "public eye". I've watched reactors who make a 4 minute song into a 30 minute reaction. I personally don't want to sit through that... others might love that tho. Everyone has their own personal taste, and opinions. Cheers 🍻
I allow myself a small friendly suggestion: react to the version of this song by the Japanese girl group Nemophila which for me is better than the original to which you have just reacted. The cover by Nemophila is amazing!

There are 4 members of MTH, and, the 4 girls in Japanese school uniforms are the group Atarashii Gakko, Suzuka (w/ the glasses), Kanon ( long, straight hair), Rin (the rapper), and, Mizyu (the one playing the shamisen).
Very well said... hard to classify!
MTH for me is like Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are a genre on their own 🤘😎👍
8:00 See that "robot-doll" behind you two?
That's... Maximum The Hormone - Koi No America MV!
She sings about atomic bombs.. "please, don't drop them, they hurt us..."
It's another very... hmmm... flamboyant MTH MV. Use the CC subtitles, they are a blast!
Thank you!
Anohter fun MtH song and video is "Koi no America"
this band is so crazy and amazing. yoshu fukushu is pure gold
Maximum the Hormone's been around since 1997 and this is a cover of their own song that was released in 2007. One of the greatest bands from Japan!
Worth checking them out ( especially a Live version of their song " NaiNaiNai " which perfectly illustrates what a lunatic lead singer Suzuka is ! ). - ua-cam.com/video/DS9Nu-R7HAM/v-deo.html

Thank you!!
Hallo back you beautiful beeings
Thanks for watching!
最高だろ?
Totally amazing!!
Hello Mrs and Mini Realistic, one song you should check out is Jacoby Shaddix ( papa roach) and The HU. They are a medal band from Mongolia and they do Mongolian throat singing. They collaborated on a song called the Wolf Totem. Great reaction
Bloodywood, an Indian metal band, just dropped a new song the other day, it's called Nu Delhi. It's freaking amazing 🤘😁🤘
I just filmed that one. It'll be up soon! 😊👍
The AG interpretive dance completes the MTH music in the same way the Kami Band completes the interpretive dance of Babymetal.
You have added nothing to this music video. You have just reuploaded it with your faces obscuring the thing people actually want to see
You're more than welcome to watch the original Video.
Wow! I didn't know they did a cover! Thank you!
@@MrsRealistic Nemophila did another cover of MATH which is maybe even crazier: "Zetsubou Billy"
@@johnpaul4784 nah, I think MTH live is better and crazier than any cover existed on youtube.
not to mention the crowds is like a part of the band itself.
check out "Koi no Sperm".
Maximam The Hormone is a four -member band. Guitar and drums are real siblings. This MV was created a past song of Maximum the Hormone as a collaboration with a four -member female performer called "New School Leaders".
By the way, the geisha in the middle of the MV is dressed as a band drummer.
😁😁😁😁😁
