England 🍻 pressure fermentation is an ideal solution for lagers made by homebrewers like me who lack space for equipment. Thanks for doing the side-by-side review.
@@DrHansBrewery Since most German beer is industry crap brewed with hop extract, I would say yes. Plus I like to support local small companies rather than Asahi (Urquell), Molson Coors (Staropramen) and the big German corporations or Heineken and Carlsberg owned German breweries. The only social reasonable Czech brewery is Budvar because it is not corporation owned. O/O's pivot pils only costs like 22 kronor i think which is reasonable. BUT if you mean the super famous Stockholm craft brewery that rhymes with bomnipollo...yes they suck at brewing Lagers. Most of their beers actually suck :D
Watching from Australia, just put a hot cubed shwarzbier into my all rounder with reharvested 34/70. I really enjoy your fun look at brewing, keep up the great work.
South Africa, Been thinking about getting pressure gear but I think you've convinced me to keep going without it for some more time (and just be selective about yeast). Oops.
@@DrHansBrewery no,I run the hose leading to my immersion chiller thru an esky full of blocks of ice and water. Seems to help but doesn't always get it low enough
Argentina here! I've pressure fermented 3 lagers already, 2 using W-34/70 and currently 1 with S-23 at room temperature. I cannot achieve a 9 - 12 C so this is the only method I have to make lagers. What I wonder is how these two strains compares fermenting at lager temperature and under 12 psi or more. Sadly, though we have more options on yeasts nowadays than 10 years ago, we only get certain dry yeasts from both lallemand and fermentis.
Australia here. I think you should "Push it" to 30 degrees. Summertime it's often 30 plus here so a room temp (30) lager experiment would be great to see. Cheers and Gott nytt år (Damn I hope that's right.) Happy New Year anyway.
... which, it seems to me, means that many home brewers that thought they can't brew lagers because of the fermentation temperature requirements, can now succeed (If they can get hold of this yeast...)
@@DrHansBrewery here in Ireland I can get Bitburger pils, haufbrau helles, Augustiner Helles, Pilsner Urquel etc for almost half the price of craft brewed lagers, and rhe local stuff just doesn't compete. Aldi sell a beer here called Reinbacher Pils, it's less than half the price of a craft pills, and even that is an infinitely superior beer.

nice frencie you have it's almost real dog by staffie owner ;). well you right there is no good swedish lager or pilsner, but you can buy budejovicy and pilsner urquell from systembolaget. 8 minutes to say you made a couple of beers with a single variable and couldn’t pick a difference. You’re correct, this channel sucks. I’m going to watch the video again and see if I missed something that might justify the energy spent watching it the first time.
It actually took me like an hour but due to the magic of editing I could cut it down to 8 minutes. There's also the feature on UA-cam wich lets you double the speed of the video. That will shave another 4 minutes of the second time you watch it. Cheers and have a great new years eve.

Australia here. Researching for my first Czech lager. Great content as usual 👍🍻
Awesome, thank you so much!

Have you tried the Lagers from O/O brewing? Olle is killing it with his Lagers
Are they worth twice the money than a German or Czhech one?

So many Aussies here!
Love it.
Yes we have a lot of Aussie beer lovers here. Cheers
Cheers from Cyprus! You could do a triangle or other method of blind tasting for a more convinient experiment results description.
Yes youre right, in this case it wouldn´t matter though.
Brazil here. Funny video like always. Apparently your dog don't like Beer and have a perfect mood. 😂. Tks for sharing your sucks content.

"Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change, Stephen Hawking". Great video!

Heya from the Netherlands. Been subbed for years now. How's the whole beer store venture going?
Thanks,
That didn't work out.
The Weihenstephaner strain is alot more forgiving than other lager strains. Maybe try a different lager yeast and redo the experiment.

I wonder if a yeast that has been in use for many years like saflager could handle the higher temperatures. It probably was developed colder.
W34/70 is the closest yeast to the BF27 I have tried. But I haven't tried to ferment it as hot so far.
New Zealand here. Was a shit video, keep up the great work 👍

wait - 2 days ferment at 75F~, then cold crash for lager??? DAMN!!

I think the more accurate statement is "Craft Brewers can't do good lagers consistantly".
And they want dubble or third the price
