I've always felt like Misty was and will always be better for ash because of how far those two have come. Several movies, episodes, series, fan theory, they just make the better couple. Misty knows ash better then any of the other girls even Serena. She just knew him from their childhood and nothing more after that. She never tried to find him and wanted to follow him when he first started in the beginning. She only likes him because he helped her when she got hurt. Misty actually grew to know ash and what kind of a guy/ Pokemon trainer he was.

Here's the major difference between Misty and Serena's feelings for Ash. Serena's feelings for Ash steam from a childhood crush on him. They were of the "rescued princess" type of feelings. Yes her feelings for him were reassured as they traveled, but she still never got past her crush phase. But prier to their meeting each other again they only spent a total of ONE WEEK together. Misty's feelings, on the other hand, developed over a long period of time as they got to know one another. Misty spent a much longer time with Ash and as they traveled they got to know one another much more deeply than any other pairing. They got to know each other's likes and dislikes, their strengths and weaknesses and eventually got to know what the other was thinking. Misty got closer to Ash than any other girl in the series, including Serena. I don't know about you all, but I think a relationship that developed from scratch and developed over a long period of time into a very close relationship like Misty and Ash's could last a long time and be much stronger than one that developed from a simple childhood crush that was namely one sided on Serena's part.

In my opinion pokeshipping is mainly older generations who have watched Pokémon from the beginning and amourshipping is mainly the newer generations who haven’t watched / taken interest in the old Pokemon. Ivana Albert I started being into the 1st generation in 2016. My brother used to watch pokemon, but I didn't have any interest in it, so it took some time for me to actually like it. Dawn(I only liked her because her hair was blue and blue used to be my favorite color back then)was my first pokegirl, but I fell in love with Misty and the original trio, so I'm not an old viewer or old fan. I could see the close bond between Misty and Ash and that's why I started shipping it without knowing what shipping meant. But yes, you are correct, most people. I choose both of you...” And Misty and Serena interrupt and say “You can’t choose both of us! That’s not right! Choose one of us!!” And Ash finishes his sentence and says, “...as a friend.” Misty and Serena realize that Ash doesn’t feel he same way to them and instead thinks of them as a friend. Misty and Serena realize that Ash doesn’t want to see them fight. He wants them as his friends. So they then become friends and both take care of Ash as a friend and they both travel to Alola with him. #friend zoned
I think Misty’s team would also be interesting to theorize. I think she would evolve Horsea as she uses it more in Hoenn, gets a Shellos in Sinnoh, catches the Palpitoed Ash would of caught (and evolves it), and gets you the Gyaradosite from Siebold along with catching Skrelp. Also, I think it would be great if we also saw Psyduck become stronger and more capable as the journey continued.
Honestly, I believe the shipping wars are based on not who is most compatible with Ash, but which girl you consider yourself to be like, or would want to have in a significant other. Misty is a rash tomboy who isn't afraid to be straightforward and can be very egotistical. Serena, on the other hand, is on the quieter side, she enjoys feminine things, and is a bit too nice to the point she becomes either annoying or seems like she has no backbone, which is the exact opposite of Misty. I just find it really intriguing that the two most popular girls when it comes to compatibility with Ash are polar opposites. All the other poke girls seem to fall in the spectrum between Misty and Serena's extremes.
Maybe when Mr Mime won the tickets for the Vacation in Alola Ash and his mum invite Misty with them since her Sisters did not invite her when they went on Vacation then Ash and Misty stumble into the Pokémon School and she would get Jealous when Mallow Grabbed Ash's hand when she offered them a tour and Misty would develope a Close bond with Lana and her Popplio. And here's some what if ideasc 1, What if Ash gave up on Charazard 2, What if Ash Catched Lavatar.

To prove that Misty had a crush on Ash, the album 2.B.A. Master has a song called Misty’s Song sung by Yvette Laboy. The song takes place as Ash, Misty and Brock are about to go to sleep. Ash says good night to Misty and she says good night to him. Then the song begins. The whole song is Misty finally admitting her feelings about Ash. When the song is over, Ash wakes up and yawns and asks “Did you say something, Misty?” Misty quickly denies it. “Me? No! I-I didn’t say anything! Good night.” More proof is in the song Pokémon Christmas Bash. This song happens to be the album’s title track. Misty asks Santa for one dance with Ash, but in a way that makes it obvious she likes him. Ash and Misty have a song together called Under the Mistletoe. In Alola, Misty is with Ash but some things heat up because Misty finds out that Serena is out for revenge on Misty so Serena comes to Alola from the Hoen region after holding the title “Kalos Queen.” Serena comes and pulls Ash into a small area of the island and tells Ash that Serena loves him. The whole Serena and Ash kissing moment returns but Misty finds out that she is with Ash, but this time, Misty wants to battle Serena in a triple battle, so Misty and Serena were busy getting a Z ring and Z crystals so that’s when Team Rocket swoops in takes them both and of course Pikachu but Team Rocket makes a proposition for them both but they didn’t want to be with criminals who should be in prison. So Misty, Serena, and Pikachu escape from Team Rocket and both girls have their triple battle. After the battle it was a draw. But after that they were still fighting but Ash had enough and he had the nerve to tell them this. “Why do you girls always fight over me. You girls need to not fight in front of me because it’s really not cool and these guys are judging me and I want you girls to stop it. Now I’m going to continue my adventure today ALONE. So when you girls are ready come to me and never fight over me again. C’mon Pikachu. Let’s practice Gigavolt Havoc somewhere else.” Both girls start crying and sobbing for a while and there at the Pokémon center but they are still sad but when they realize they have caused too much trouble for Ash they hug it out and then Misty realizes that her sisters are gone. But Serena realizes that she mustn’t fight anymore so both of them kiss and they are besties. So the next day Misty and Serena both kiss Ash and they all hug it out. And so Misty and Serena Cheer on Ash to earn all Z crystals and pass every island challenge that comes for Ash.
Fun fact, the original anime director was conflicted at the begining of AG. Why? Because he wanted a new main character, but wanted to still have the same number. He didn't want to get Brock out, so his choice was between Misty and Team Rocket. For reminder, he was the one giving the possibility of Ash and Misty being together, and he dumped her for Jessie and James. Yep. Also, Misty reaction to Ash-Greninja could be hilarious.
I feel like amourshipping is forced and uncomfortable. Also, it would never work. She's too girly and doesn't like to get dirty. That's just not Ash's style. Also, Serena's life is in Kalos with the Pokemon Showcases being exclusive to that region. Ash wants to travel the world and see every Pokemon possible. I think if Serena left with Ash that would be terrible for her character as she gave up her dream for a boy. What would that be teaching younger female viewers? There's just so much wrong with it in my opinion. It's in the bottom half of the Ash X female companion ships. (I can already see the hate comments. 😂😂)
I actually didn't really like the Pokemon Showcases that much, I much preferred the contests and thought Serena would be great at them. my only regret is that I won't get to see her do them.

Well personally I think if ash and misty did start a relationship it would end quickly because misty will probably need to go to the gym since her sisters might just go on another vacation and she would have to go back to the gym. PLOT TWIST! Serena cancels her trip to Hoenn because she wants to travel with Ash more, and most importantly snap back at Misty for what she did. Serena acts very harsh towards Misty now compared to the others. Misty at first ignores this like a man, but this only triggers Serena further. Misty feels really down and sad. Ash notices this and is oddly curious as to what’s up with her. Misty kinda becomes a negative nancy and had bad attitude towards things. Ash gets mad at her sudden change of attitude and yells at her or sumn (this is super duper exaggerated but I’m just fantasizing) and Misty cries and runs off somewhere in the woods or by a lake. Serena out of curiosity follows Misty to wherever she went. Misty doesn’t mind her watching at all. She told Serena about how she now rethinks her choices about staying with Ash and how she ruined everything for everyone, and apologizes to Serena for making her life difficult. (This next part is super cliche and all) Serena considers each word that Misty says. She feels kinda guilty each second, then hugs Misty. Misty accepted the hug. The two resumed their conversation, talking to each other about their experiences with Ash. After that day, their bond became closer and they realized how dumb Ash was to not recognize many girls’ feelings towards him, and decided they’d leave the dense trainer behind and travel and dominate the world together with their talents 😎 yikers this was corny and unplanned but i hOpe YoU reAdeRs EnjoYed mY fAnfiCtiOn!1!2

I've always felt like Misty was and will always be better for ash because of how far those two have come. Several movies, episodes, series, fan theory, they just make the better couple. Misty knows ash better then any of the other girls even Serena. She just knew him from their childhood and nothing more after that. She never tried to find him and wanted to follow him when he first started in the beginning. She only likes him because he helped her when she got hurt. Misty actually grew to know ash and what kind of a guy/ Pokemon trainer he was.

Here's the major difference between Misty and Serena's feelings for Ash.
Serena's feelings for Ash steam from a childhood crush on him. They were of the "rescued princess" type of feelings. Yes her feelings for him were reassured as they traveled, but she still never got past her crush phase. But prier to their meeting each other again they only spent a total of ONE WEEK together.
Misty's feelings, on the other hand, developed over a long period of time as they got to know one another. Misty spent a much longer time with Ash and as they traveled they got to know one another much more deeply than any other pairing. They got to know each other's likes and dislikes, their strengths and weaknesses and eventually got to know what the other was thinking. Misty got closer to Ash than any other girl in the series, including Serena.
I don't know about you all, but I think a relationship that developed from scratch and developed over a long period of time into a very close relationship like Misty and Ash's could last a long time and be much stronger than one that developed from a simple childhood crush that was namely one sided on Serena's part.

I think Misty’s team would also be interesting to theorize. I think she would evolve Horsea as she uses it more in Hoenn, gets a Shellos in Sinnoh, catches the Palpitoed Ash would of caught (and evolves it), and gets you the Gyaradosite from Siebold along with catching Skrelp. Also, I think it would be great if we also saw Psyduck become stronger and more capable as the journey continued.

Honestly, I believe the shipping wars are based on not who is most compatible with Ash, but which girl you consider yourself to be like, or would want to have in a significant other. Misty is a rash tomboy who isn't afraid to be straightforward and can be very egotistical. Serena, on the other hand, is on the quieter side, she enjoys feminine things, and is a bit too nice to the point she becomes either annoying or seems like she has no backbone, which is the exact opposite of Misty. I just find it really intriguing that the two most popular girls when it comes to compatibility with Ash are polar opposites. All the other poke girls seem to fall in the spectrum between Misty and Serena's extremes.

In Alola, Misty is with Ash but some things heat up because Misty finds out that Serena is out for revenge on Misty so Serena comes to Alola from the Hoen region after holding the title “Kalos Queen.” Serena comes and pulls Ash into a small area of the island and tells Ash that Serena loves him. The whole Serena and Ash kissing moment returns but Misty finds out that she is with Ash, but this time, Misty wants to battle Serena in a triple battle, so Misty and Serena were busy getting a Z ring and Z crystals so that’s when Team Rocket swoops in takes them both and of course Pikachu but Team Rocket makes a proposition for them both but they didn’t want to be with criminals who should be in prison. So Misty, Serena, and Pikachu escape from Team Rocket and both girls have their triple battle. After the battle it was a draw. But after that they were still fighting but Ash had enough and he had the nerve to tell them this. “Why do you girls always fight over me. You girls need to not fight in front of me because it’s really not cool and these guys are judging me and I want you girls to stop it. Now I’m going to continue my adventure today ALONE. So when you girls are ready come to me and never fight over me again. C’mon Pikachu. Let’s practice Gigavolt Havoc somewhere else.” Both girls start crying and sobbing for a while and there at the Pokémon center but they are still sad but when they realize they have caused too much trouble for Ash they hug it out and then Misty realizes that her sisters are gone. But Serena realizes that she mustn’t fight anymore so both of them kiss and they are besties. So the next day Misty and Serena both kiss Ash and they all hug it out. And so Misty and Serena Cheer on Ash to earn all Z crystals and pass every island challenge that comes for Ash.

I feel like amourshipping is forced and uncomfortable. Also, it would never work. She's too girly and doesn't like to get dirty. That's just not Ash's style. Also, Serena's life is in Kalos with the Pokemon Showcases being exclusive to that region. Ash wants to travel the world and see every Pokemon possible. I think if Serena left with Ash that would be terrible for her character as she gave up her dream for a boy. What would that be teaching younger female viewers? Serena acts very harsh towards Misty now compared to the others. Misty at first ignores this like a man, but this only triggers Serena further. Misty feels really down and sad. Ash notices this and is oddly curious as to what’s up with her. Misty kinda becomes a negative nancy and had bad attitude towards things. Ash gets mad at her sudden change of attitude and yells at her or sumn (this is super duper exaggerated but I’m just fantasizing) and Misty cries and runs off somewhere in the woods or by a lake. Serena out of curiosity follows Misty to wherever she went. Misty doesn’t mind her watching at all. She told Serena about how she now rethinks her choices about staying with Ash and how she ruined everything for everyone, and apologizes to Serena for making her life difficult. (This next part is super cliche and all) Serena considers each word that Misty says. She feels kinda guilty each second, then hugs Misty. Misty accepted the hug. The two resumed their conversation, talking to each other about their experiences with Ash.
