I had some roommates several years ago & no one cared if someone go into your room & placed something on the dresser or chair while you were away. If by chance we did not want someone to enter our room we would simply say it, or place a lock on our door. Now if she had said that he used to go in there without knocking when she was there I would say that is a problem.
It’s hard to know unless we are there. It’s possible he was a bit too ocd with cleaning but it’s also possible she was messy and didn’t care about leaving mess for him to clean up. I have had room mates too and we yes had no problems going to put something in our room. If anyone didn’t want someone in their room they would say so or yes lock the door. Maybe they just had different expectations and didn’t communicate. I’ve lived in a few situations some where we were expected to keep our personal stuff in our rooms and the living rooms were not for any personal stuff. And other places where everyone was free ,within reason , to place things in the living areas. Admittedly I’m not big on cleaning , but I do get that it’s irritating when living with other people if it’s one person doing the cleaning and dishes , I lived with two guys at one point they were horrible cleaning , they never did dishes ever.

In reality, the planttiff was not responsible for the 3rd roommates rent. She agreed to. "help" find a new tenant but it wasn't on her to do that. She found someone for her room and it was the 3rd person's responsibility to find a new tenant. The judge shouldn't have made her pay for rent that she wasn't responsible for. Offering to help doesn't mean that she agreed to take care of the rent if the room wasn't rented. The defendant should've had to sue the 3rd tenant to recoup the rent.

That is for the landlord to sort out. They know the deposit was half hers and half his, and they refused to let her off of the lease. So she would have got her half back directly from the landlord, the defendant wouldn't have it. It sounds like of she still lived there the security could have been in jeopardy but with a clean and neat guy like the defendant there shouldn't be any issues 😂😂

If they choose to keep the same security deposit in place, then half of it belongs to her, and she gets it from him because he’ll get all of it when he eventually moves out. If he moved out when the lease was over, then they get the security deposit minus damages. If he got all of that, she gets it from him, not the landlord. Either way she shouldn’t chase the landlord, she gets it from him and HE needs to chase the landlord
