I don’t think I would ever be bored there, such a beautiful array of shells, I’d be like a kid in a candy store. Thanks for letting me tag along.
I would never be bored there either! The view, the shells - it's truly a magical place!
I spent a week at Sanibel Island. The shells are insane there and every where. I brought a bunch home. And by bunch I meant several hundred. ❤
@@SWFBeachLife how wonderful to be able to find such lovely shells l over to collect them too here in australia
I can’t get over how you pass up the large shells! 😁
It takes lots and lots of self control 😅
@@SWFBeachLife I think people would buy them, like on ebay or etsy, I know I would. I'm in MO and don't have access to shells.
@@SWFBeachLife maybe one of these days I’ll get to that spot and get the ones she left behind!
Oh my goodness what beautiful finds. Kice Kice baby!! Love the true tulip, what a colour. Stay safe x
Kice was kind again! I'm so curious as to whether the shells will stick around all year. I guess I'm going to find out! Hope all is well by you! ❤️
I want to tell you that your channel has taken over me and my wife's TV time! We're shell fanatics having spent 35 years in San Diego! We pretty much were at the beach snorkeling for shells multiple times a week. We have been land locked in Utah for 7 years so your weekly shows sustain us!!! Thanks!!!!
You are so very welcome! I can't get enough of the beaches and creatures and shells and scenery - I absolutely love living here and I love sharing all the amazing mini-adventures to go on. I can't wait to see what else I'm going to find! Thank so much for coming along with me!
Brand new to your channel - I'm in love!!
This island is now on my bucket list 💗 Your enthusiasm and child-like wonder reminds me of days gone by, picking up shells as a kid growing up in San Diego and then after moving to the Gulf Coast in my 20's. I think it's time to re-visit my childhood for some pure joy!! Low tide is in 3hrs!!!!!
Welcome aboard! I was thinking yesterday I'm glad I didn't grow up here. I might have gotten used to the gorgeous water views, islands, beaches, shells, etc. I still love everything about Florida and I'll never stop being grateful that I live where I do. It's too pretty to not share! I hope you find lots of goodies at low tide!
I absolutely love All of your shelling adventures and look forward to a new video each week, but I think this is my very favorite! I love how excited you get and you teach us so much. Amazing finds for sure! That true tulip is gorgeous and so excited for you on the banded cone!
I am SO animated - you should see me flapping my hands around and the faces I make while doing the voice over for my videos. 😅 I'm one lucky gal and I love sharing my beach visits so other people can enjoy them too. I am beyond excited about that cone. I'm going to enter it in the Sanibel Shell Show next year!
@@SWFBeachLife i was going to ask! OOOOooo if you enter it, could you maybe vlog the shell show and tell us how the shell does?????
@@Someonewhoruns I will!
Shelling is definitely addicting along with sea glass and sharks teeth. You’re always looking for that different special shell, that large shark tooth…dam you, now you got me craving for a beach. Guess I’ll just have to go back to working on my shell art project in the basement and put on some beach wave sounds.
Sorry!! If it's any consolation I don't get to go as often as I'd like but I'm pretty dang lucky to live so close to so many beaches!
My favorite place on Earth!
Congrats on the Golden Banded Cone!
This was so exciting and yet relaxing! You found some gorgeous shells. Thank you! ❤️🐚
Absolutley stunning location and shells. I love how you identify the shells each time. It's like learning a language - repeat something often enough and eventually it sticks. I have learned so much from you while you enjoying time on the beach. Great editing as well.
Thank you so very much! I am truly blessed to live in such a fantastic part of the country and be able to share my experiences. Thank you for coming along with me!
Love that gorgeous rare cone and that true tulip. Fantastic finds. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Those Gaudi Nauticas are gorgeous.
This video is just what I needed on this gray, snowy day. Thank you! ❤️
You are so welcome!
I find it amazing how a video of shell hunting, the ocean views and sounds, can have such a wonderful effect on the viewer! It's almost like being there! I find these vids so calming & relaxing. I grew up on the ocean, so it doesn't take much for these fab videos to grab me and plunk me right down on these gorgeous shell covered beaches! 😍
@@lindsayschilling8707 LOVE THIS!!
This was one shell of a video!!!! So many AmaZinG finds! 🐚
It was a spectacular day to be out there!
What an amazing beach day! Congratulations on all your beautiful finds and especially that gorgeous banded cone! This was such a lovely video. It transported me from the cold grey day I’ve had today to a beautiful sunny place. Thank you! ❤️
You are so very welcome. Thank you for taking the time to come along with me!
I love all the beautiful shells you found! Thanks for making the trip to Kice Island! I think I was as excited as you were finding all the beauties.
Spectacular finds!! Congrats on your special cone! My faves of the day were the true tulip and the very colorful gaudy nauticas.
This has been a fantastic trip all those beautiful shells congratulations on that gorgeous cone thank you for taking us with you
This video made me cry. My grandmother moved to Longboat Key in 1964. She taught me how to shell. Many mornings up before dawn to catch the tides, wading to find the big Welks! I have jars and jars of beautiful shells which mean more than anything else she left me. Still shell when I can. Thanks again. I have a set of all you found in miniature smaller than my pinkie nail.
I'm sorry the video made you cry, but I'm glad you have wonderful collections of beautiful shells to remember your grandmother by. I don't have a miniature collection yet, but it sounds like a great way to save room and still collect those beautiful shells! 🐚
@@SWFBeachLife happy tears!! We used to make a couple a year displaying them in a large long clam like shell that had both half connected.
I am talking tiny tiny shells.
@@debslee3165 I've found shells the size of a grain of rice! Those suckers are hard to collect but I'm starting to gain more interest in them!
Amazing colors and patterns! Nature's artwork!!! Love watching your discoveries along with the 'names' of so many incredible shells!
Truly a wonderful trip to the beach! I absolutely loved those gorgeous cones! That true tulip was amazing! Thank you so much for taking me shelling on Kice!
You are so very welcome! Thank you for coming along with me!
Oh my, you are a kindred spirit!
I love shelling in SW Florida. Such beautiful finds and I get to learn their names, I usually name them my own made up names! 😁
You helped transport me from sleeting, chilly Ohio to the beautiful beaches of SW Florida.
Thank you! ❤
You are so very welcome. I'm sure at some point I'll start giving the shells a nickname just to entertain myself. I'm glad I could get you to the beach! 🌴🌊🐚
I can’t believe the banded cone is exquisite. What a find so perfect
What a lovely beach walk thank you for sharing! Keep collecting
I just love your shelling finds. I loved doing this for the better part of my life. Not able now due to some annoying med problems. Guess I have to live thru you which is soooooooo fun for me now. I just about lose my mind when I see what's hiding beneath. Thanks so much for taking me along. I will look forward to our next meet on Sunday. Romy
Hi Romy! I'm glad I can get you to the beach "virtually" and show you all the neat things I have the good fortune to find. Some of the places I visit are just so beautiful and I'm so grateful that I can share with other people who enjoy the hunt! 🐚
I’m so in awe of the shells you found, fabulous
How do we get to kiss island
Great finds…love banded tulips, olives, murex, banded cone..so many beautiful shells
I am so freaking happy for you with your treasure you found!!! That shell was meant for you to hold onto it for at least a little while.
I’m going to be in fort Meyers beach in just over two weeks, I think I met you on the beach about a year ago, it was my first trip to FMB.
Having your videos to look forward to lessens the ache I have from missing the beach and shelling. I love the shells so much!
Thank you so much! I am pretty freaking happy about that shell as well! And we quite possibly have met. I often say hi to other shellers to see what kind of luck they are having out on the beach. I know the feeling of missing the beach and the shells! I would get that feeling every time we visited looking for where we were going to move. I am so very grateful we chose the perfect place to move to. I hope you find lots of treasures while you're here!
Oh, so happy you found the special shells! I always hope you find a junonia or huge conch, but it's fabulous you found something more rare. The golden banded cone, red true tulip and gaudi moon snails are beautiful!
I like it that you show us how they clean up; that was a fun glimpse of your shell 'play station.'
I have been hoping for that elusive junonia, but I'll just have to keep looking. Oh my gosh the shells this day were out of this world. It was SUCH a fun trip. Thank you for letting me share it with you!
I love your videos! Love your enthusiasm. Its relaxing for me to watch! You know more about shells than anyone I know. I picked up a few generic shells on the beach in Ghana years ago. Otherwise I've been land-locked!
Well thank you for coming along with me on my beach adventure!!!
Wow, that banded cone, true tulip and Florida cone are exquisite!
I can feel your excitement ! Great finds!
Wow! How special! Happy you found a new shell!❤️
Thank you!!
I'm a recent subscriber and I'm really loving your great treasure hunting videos with such beautiful weather, scenery and mouth watering finds! I really appreciate your knowledge on the subject too as I love to hear the proper names of your beautiful finds!
One thing I'm desperate for though is that you do some slow pans of the most packed and interesting shell areas. I keep spotting things I'd love to see in more detail. Not just a brief flash, where my eyes don't even have time to focus!🧐😂 Some of the shells may well be boringly common for you, but here in the uk we sadly don't find such an amazing array of gorgeous exotic looking shells. I'm green with envy you lucky lady! 💚
Happy hunting! 🌊🐚😎🚣♀️👣🌅
Thanks for the comment Penny! It's so hard to decide how to shoot and edit the videos. I have people who have been watching for a while now, and I don't want to bore them - then I have new people joining and I don't want them to be lost and not get the shell info. I will keep this in mind and try to at least slow down a little so you get to see good shots of the shells! Thank you for coming along with me!
I love how clear the video close ups are and I watch with my finger on the pause button constantly so I can deeply enjoy the shell piles
@@zumapuma38 I've been trying to do more of the pile scanning for those at home. And sometimes people at home spy things I missed! 😃
Love all the shells 🐚. Thanks so much!
Oh my goodness nice find! Beautiful, calming video as always Sharmon! Thank you!
My pleasure! ☺️ Thank you for watching!
That Golden Banded Cone is absolutely AMAZING! We never find cones here in SC. I would be super excited to find just a regular alphabet cone. :) Hopefully when we come to SWF on vacation later this year we will add a few more cones to our collection to along with lots of others of these beauties. Thanks for sharing these beauties!! Much love from us Salties!
Hi Salties! Can you imagine my delight when I started doing research on that shell and I found out it was really rare? I'm still really tickled with that shell. I hope you find TONS of cones when you return to the area. We might have the cones but boy you guys have the whelks!
Wow, red tulip! Wow purple apple murex! the cones! I have a request, I would like a still shot of a shell pile. I want to freeze it on the screen and just learn to look for shapes vs colors. Then after a couple of minutes, arrows with id of shells to help me see what I missed. Kind of like an I Spy a.... If possible I think we could all benefit doing the search and an answer key. Thanks in advance!
yes!! I second this!!
I can do that! You'll just have to tell me which shell pile 😅 Seriously, shoot me an email at swfbeachlife@gmail.com and tell me which pile and I can send you a pic!
@@SWFBeachLife I will look at at pile in this video and get back to you by Friday, no rush on response. If someone else picked a pile in response that will be fine for me also.
First choices 22:39, 22:52 & 19:44-19:45. I guess it is a matter of getting close to the shells in a pile and just looking for points, color and shape. If there are anymore tips let me know. Thanks
@@chrisbgifford7387 I’m on it. Shoot me an email at swfbeachlife@gmail.com and I’ll them to you 😃
I LOVE SHELLING!! Especially for the smaller ones. They are so cute!
Can't wait for next week's trip...this one was awesome! So many amazing finds!
This is the first video I've ever watched on finding shells. It is really interesting. I recently moved to SC and my yard is very full of sand. There are these white small cone-like shells in my yard. I haven't had time to research this area but it must have been oceanfront at one time. I can't believe the sand and shells.
I moved here from NJ so it's weird for me too that I dig a little and hit sand! I've only lived here a little over 2 years and we wanted to be close to the beach. Then I started getting interested in the things I found on the beach. Then I needed to share and I started my. UA-cam channel. It's such a fun, healthy "obsession" and I am having a great time sharing these amazing locations!
Wow if anyone deserves to find that golden band alphabet cone is you! Your excitement in your voice is priceless! Thank you for sharing all of your fabulous finds with us❣️🌴❣️
Thank you so much! I got pretty psyched once I started doing the research on that shell to see what it was. Thank you for coming along with me on my beach adventure!
Wow, that was amazing. Incredible finds. Thank you x
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm from Sydney Australia, and had relatives that lived on the Queensland coast. Ever since I was a kid I loved the Christmas holiday trips up there (summer here then), and the highlight for little me was to wander along beaches collecting shells. I inherited my Grandma's seashell collection, and enjoy seeing some of the shells you collect that look like mine.
I know your seasons are opposite of ours and so strange to think of xmas in the summer. Anyway I'm so glad I could bring you to the beach for a little treasure hunting. There are lots of species that you can find all over the world. Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Oh my goodness!! Lookit those lovely treasures!! You have hit the sea shell lottery with your gorgeous finds!! I get the biggest kick watching your videos!! Can you recommend any good shell identification books please and thank you?! It's hard to find books on this subject here in Ohio, lol. Love your channel. Happy shelling!! ❤🐚❤
The book I use on a regular basis is Florida's Living Beaches. You can pick one up on Amazon: amzn.to/3aqkmO0. It great because it only has shells from Florida in it, so I'm not confused by shells that are from a different area. It doesn't have ALL the Florida shells, but it's a fantastic resource if you're looking to ID Florida shells. Thanks so much for coming along with me on my beach adventures!
This is my first time viewing first of all, how beautiful. Second of all I can't help but notice how gorgeous your natural nails are even while you're picking through all the shells and stuff you manage to keep them that nice I am definitely envious. Anyways I will be subscribing this is so cool to me
Welcome aboard Ashley! I share a new beach walk every Sunday and I love sharing all the interesting things I find along the way. Thank you for the nail compliment! It's a good thing I don't try to keep them painted as I would probably spend as much time on them as I do editing videos! 😅
Just the sound of the sea and nothing else, how wonderful
Your banded cone and true tulip are both gorgeous! Kice Island did not disappoint
Kice has never disappointed me!
Your videos allow me to be close to what I love and dream off. Alberta, Canada is a land locked province and I am far away from ocean, so the water, sound of waves, sun and beautiful shells that you allow us to see it’s truly a remarkable gift. Thank you for that, with lots of hugs - Dana
Thank you for choosing to spend your time with me at the beach! I know it's not the same thing, but I sure do love sharing these beaches and all the wonderful experiences I have looking for beach treasure. I'm glad I can give you a little beach time when you need it 😃
Brilliant congrats on the rare ones and all the pretty ones! I craft woven pieces that I line and make into baskets. I look for and use mostly drilled pretty small somewhat flat and clam shaped shells on their top rim lol so I leave the heavier big ones I just cant use them and until finding you I never knew they were so valuable to shellers. Now I will pick up a few : )
Your woven pieces sound pretty. Someone recently showed us how to sew baskets from clothesline wrapped in cloth. They are beautiful and I want to make one with shells sewed onto it. Shoot, there's tons of stuff I'd like to make and I just can't seem to find the time! I sell some of my shells too so I can keep hunting and not worry about running out to room - LOL!
I just love your enthusiasm! Thanks for sharing your shell high. 🐚
It would be such a shame to keep all the things I get to see to myself! Thanks so much for watching!
What a wonderful video! Amazing finds! Especially the red true tulip and the unbelievable banded cone!!!
Kice is nice! To me this would be a dream day for shelling! Congrats on that special banded cone! More rare than a junonia!? Wow! Still waiting for you to find a junonia also!
I know, I didn't even know this shell was on my bucket list! At least I have lots more that I'm still hunting. I'll find that junonia one of these days!
I super enjoyed watching this. I just wish I could have been there. Such wonderful shell finds.
wow! golden banded cone? cool!
Absolutely gorgeous finds today but you always find a ton of good stuff! I so so so enjoy watching your videos! 💖💖💖
I love the lace mirex, they look so interesting, but this dark shell you find at last was gorgeous, like that rare cone, but all your shell you find are so great. When I see you pic up little shells, I am thinking for earring jewelrys..they would be nice 👍😀❤
I was so surprised by that rare shell! There are rare shells I'm looking for and this one I didn't even know existed! I got very lucky. And I agree - some of those little shells would indeed make great jewelry! ☺️
Beautiful shells! Honestly, there are so many gorgeous shells; I'd have a hard time narrowing down the keepers, or I'd need a Uhaul truck to get my sea gems home 😆 Thank You, as always, for a great video. Oh, and I always enjoy seeing the shells after they've been cleaned up (I'm an Artist, and I view each shell as a work of Sculptural Art) ❤
Shells really are works of art aren't they? Each one different with its own attributes. Thank you so much for coming along with me on my shelling adventure!
Congrats on all the fabulous shells and the rare find ones.
Wow! Great video, both parts. Really enjoyed watching as usual and learning as well as seeing all the great finds!!!
Thank you so much for coming along with me on my shelling adventure! I wish I could go to this island every day!
I love watching you. This reminds me of going to Florida to visit my mom and we would go looking for shells. She passed away 6 years ago and I really miss the times we had she’ll hunting.
Those must be really special memories. My mom passed away almost 3 years ago and I miss her too ❤️
Stumbled on your video accidentally and am so excited to see these beautiful shells and learn their names!!!
There are so many beautiful beaches down here perfect for shell hunting! I am so lucky to live here and share what I find. Thank you so much for watching!
I’m loosing my mind seeing all these shells! I Love your videos, Thank You so much for sharing
I just wanted to thank you so much h for your videos. I love in Pennsylvania and our family use to rent a cabin in August in New Jersey. I live the beach, it's sounds the shells, the sea.gulls. I was one of those people who fed seagulls but I always tried to do it away from people. I use to love the beach in the late afternoon when most people were leaving and it seemed so calm. We don't go anymore everyones kids are older doing their own thing, but I miss it. Whenever you give us beach ti.e I close my eyes and listen and I'm transported back to those days. I THANK YOU FOR that. I would love to go to south west Flordi some time it looks spectacular. I don't FIL never did so maybe after.my husband retires. But until then I've found your channel and live it immensely. God Bless and may you keep shelling for.many many more years, I'll be watching.
Sorry for spelling errors
I'm so glad I can "transport" you to the place you love. I know not everyone has the opportunity to come here to SWFL so I'm glad I can share the amazing things I get to see while I'm out exploring. Thank you so much for the note and thank you very much for coming along with me!
Love the Beach Time breaks -- very thoughtful! 😇 Congratulations on the rare shell find!
Thanks so much!
Oh my goodness! So many, many BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING shells! Thank you! I have never seen some of these. I've never found, what my mom always called them, sand dollars.
I had never found one either until I moved here. Now I get to see them all the time. I love living here in Florida!
What a fantastic trip to Kice you had! All of the shells were beautiful but the cone was stunning! Those few gaudy nauticas with the super dark markings and the bright red tulip were gorgeous! Wow!
I knoooow! To find so many fantastic shells in one day was really amazing. I'm so lucky!!!!
Love watching your videos and seeing your collection of sea shells
Congratulations!!!! That is a shelling trip that you will never forget!!! Wow!!!! 🐚👏
You are absolutely right. One of my top 5. I can't wait until I have a top 50 list in my head!

Awesomeness! wowza! Fun day. Contagious Shell High! Was on our beach today nothing but rocks and a hinged shell. Thank you!
Wow! What a day!! Beautiful finds.
It was such a fun day!
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful shell trips you take I really appreciate it saying I haven't been having knee surgery and problems with my knee and watching your videos at the beach and stuff really helps me get through the days thank you so much
You are so very welcome! I hope you recover from your surgery soon!
Loved this video. Fantastic finds and so many beautiful shells. Will have to find best way to Kice from Sanibel this Nov or winter. Thank you for your beautiful videos and information! 🌞
Congrats on your rare find. 🐚 Beautiful video! 💙

Lots of goodies!!! So much fun!!
I love the little shells you were finding. I see you digging out the shells and was going to suggest to you in getting a little trowel, glad you got one after this. Gorgeous gaudy nautica. Good find on the super rare golden banded cone shell. Fantastic day there. Thank you for beach adventure.🐚🌊
Yes, I wish I had that little shovel while I was there. At least I have it for next time. I can only imagine the treasure that's buried there!
Woooowwww! Beautiful haul. And you’ve got me hooked on shelling. They are all so beautiful. Not to mention beach time. You had some great finds.
Wow, what a great day: the colorful moonsnails were colorful! The true tulip was the prettiest red! The spiny jewel boxes were spiny! PLUS a cone you had to research, which means that is always an exciting find! I loved that other FL cone, too. And the juvenile FFCs, the banded tulips! Loved it all. Thank you!
I was so excited about that banded shell once I started doing the research on it. It's quite fun to find a rare shell that I didn't even know existed. Thank you so much for watching Diane!
As always a great day shelling. That orange tulip is beautiful and that rare cone 😍
The winning feature was the weight. I need something light enough that I can get on and off my car by myself!
WOW! What a wonderful day for you…I’m quite certain my head would have exploded! Thank for taking us along once again..❤️
This has been the best video! I felt like I was right there picking them up with you. Loved it. I have a condo in Fort Myers but we don’t get down too often. When I’m there, I’m usually shelling somewhere on Sanibel. We tried Lovers key a couple of weeks ago but nothing compares to this Kice Island except maybe once when we did a half day on Cayo Costa. Thanks for being my shelling eyes when I can’t be there. 🐚💕🐚
When we were looking to buy a place down here we kept visiting and I was wishing there was a channel showing me the area each week. I guess I went and created what I wanted ☺️ Thanks for coming to the beach with me virtually!
This is the high light of my week! Can't thank you enough for sharing with all of us. The true tulip was astounding! WOW!
I would hate to keep such a fun adventure to myself. Thank you so much for watching and coming along with me!
Thanks for sharing your shell hunt !🤗❤
Thank you for watching!
Now I know where I gotta go early in the morning. Thank you for a great video.
I hate pointing out missed things, but my anxiety is on high over a possible albino tulip at 25:35! Maybe it’s just bleached out but so pretty! 😍😱
I went back and saw it immediately. It was a very bleached out banded tulip. There were so many beautifully colored ones I didn't even check it out!
@@SWFBeachLife I’m actually relieved 😅 I may not make a good sheller, I have such anxiety about missing something special! 😆🥰
Waaay back when, I worked in a basket, plant and sea shell shop in Laguna Beach....I bought so many shells...Still have most of them with me here in Indianapolis.
Enjoyed your video...I miss the beach.
Its in my soul you see...🧜♀️🧜♀️
Oh I could never work in a shell shop. I would never get anything done! Your collection must be awesome. Thank you so much for coming along and seeing some of the things I will add to my collection!
I enjoyed virtually beach combing with you. It brought back memories. I recognized several of the shells but didn't know their names!
To find whole shells are very rare in Hawaii. Most are broken. Great finds! What a variety too!
Wow!!!!! So many great finds!!

Wow 😲 the banded cone is gorgeous! So are all the others u found between the moon snails and that orange tulip wow you had yourself a fantastic day !!! So happy for you ! Thanks as always for this beautiful day at the beach!
Thank you! 🤗
WOW, it was definitely banded tulip day. And those colorful moonsnails! I don't think I've ever seen any that deep and rich.
Wow. One of my favorite videos so far. What a wonderful day ☀️☀️☀️
It was one of my favorite shelling days too!
I have two huge jars of shells my mom collected at Daytona Beach in 1932 when she first moved there. So many interesting shells amongst the practically fossilized fish or whatever they are. They have never been cleaned up and now you have sparked my interest! Thank you!
You are so welcome! Maybe you have some really good treasures in there!
You have a treasure chest/bottles of beauty there! A suggestion if I may: you might someday consider putting some favorites in a shadow box frame for hanging on a wall. Then you can admire them at will and make your friends jealous.
@@dwalsh8628 Plus you could still see them. I do have a crummy plastic box I keep some specimens in for easy access. I like the shadowbox idea - thank you!
@@SWFBeachLife I created an ocean scene above my kitchen sink using life-like stickers and hung shells up with thumb tacks! They stay up there and you can’t see the tacks! The wall is white like the sand so it looks pretty cool!
Everything in my whole apartment is ocean stuff!
Shells, fish, turtles, dolphins etc. Palm trees and boats, bubble lamps etc. Until I can get back to Florida it all helps me get by lol. It will all decorate my place down there when I come back 😁👍🏻
Shellls are beautifull to collect thanks for sharing
