- For a bit of fun I investigated the tiny creek running in the woods behind my house in an attempt to catch a fish. To my surprise there were actually fish living in a small pool/puddle! enjoy!
Don't send me stuff!... but if you want to I'd really appreciate it!

Just spillway videos now 😩
Now he’s just one of the top fishing UA-cam channels
idc how small they are. fishing is always fun
+jarod grant I agree!
jarod grant big facts
jarod grant I caught a 1 inch bluegill and that was my proudest moment of my life
Bet bro it do be good
Facts
That's like instant fish. Had no idea bluegills lives in spots like these
They get trapped in them while the water is low
+Alpatriod
I'm not a fisherman. But I see people around here fishing in the ditches after we've had heavy rain and the ditches are full. You don't see that when it's been dry and the water is low.
Bluegill live in every type of water big or small
Green sunfish do too
@@mnwildhighlights4180 except my creek :(
having a reel on your rod was a little optimistic.
True
Always be prepared for the worst
I finally get to see this guy's eyes.
Hahah same
Whoa
It's amazing where fish can be found sometimes. It makes me wonder how many generations of bluegill were in that puddle spawning before you got there.
Wow nick the quality of production and editing has come a long way.
Wow....look at this classic 618....I'm a later subscriber to the channel...I always go back and check how they started.....must say Nick you have come a long way.It was cool watching
Those bluegills are bigger than the ones I fish in my bathtub
lol
+Peter Nguyen hahahaha nice one
that's nothing dude, yesterday i caught a 215 pound yellowfin tuna in my sink. beat that lol
lol
+BETTY GIRL 😂😂😂😂
I let out a two pound black turd fish this morning! A real whopper I tell ya!
Yesterday I caught a 2 pound rainbow trout! What chu got on me
Today I caught a small minnow... With a plastic bag!! Beat that!! Those bags work shit.
Youi inspire me to start my own fishing adventures, have watched your videos for a while now. Got so much tips although I am from south africa many of the tecniques I can implement. Even cranckbaits. Thanks Nick, keep up the Great Work!
Great video man! Its nice to see a video where a guy is just enjoying this beautiful sport instead of some "extreme giant fish! Must watch!" Keep up the good work👍🏼
Wow thanks man! I love trying to catch big fish but fishing is a lot more than just going after the big ones. It's the adventure and excitement of finding a new spot hidden off the beaten path and discovering what might be lurking beneath the surface that draws me back to fishing more than anything else. Thanks for watching and commenting man!
I swear this guy is catching the same fish
Thought so too! Lol
Bogdan Clopotel yes me too
Bogdan Clopotel same every video
No, he caught some bluegill and green sunfish, so there is probably a few more fish in that hole depending how deep it is and how far it goes under the rock
haha that fish might be idiot
I've watched a lot of fishing videos, but this is the most interesting.
I'm very surprised at the amount of fish in that puddle. I've done a ton of small creek fishing as a kid and I must say I'm impressed. lol It's amazing how life can make it in such difficult conditions.
+aHigher Power I've lived next to this creek for a very long time and it took 24 years for me to find out that fish are actually living back there! i was very amazed. thanks for watching man!
Crazy all the things that have happened since you’ve commented this
yes enjoyed thank you for showing us your adventure shows that you can have fun fishing in the most unlikely spots
+kreg pierce Definitely! thanks for watching, kreg!:D
The amount of effort and time and editing he puts I. These videos are astonishing best fishin you tuber ever
I throw everything that I catch, back in. So the size doesn't matter to me! I just love to fish! I also want to say that, 618 is by far, my favorite fishing channel! I'm subscribed to them all! Your the best! Thank's for your videos. I'm always looking forward for the next one! Keep them coming! 🐟 on!
after several times of catching fish you should have leave your fish food for them to eat, looks like they're hungry.
Nah crazy u commented this in 2016
That's amazing! Thank you for a diligent exposé on what can be found in innocuous looking, tiny bodies of water. Once I found a spring-fed pool right next to a well traveled road which held sunfish up to four inches long; didn't try to catch 'em but watched them darting around as they saw me. The puddle was about 3'X3'. Later in life, my son-in-law showed me his buddy's spring-fed, front yard farm pond in which he as a select group of friends placed transplanted trout caught locally. They had to shoo away the herons which would come to 'see' the project up close.
+TralfazConstruction Thank you for watching and posting this wonderful comment! Something about water makes my imagination run wild. It could be a deep vast ocean, small farm pond, or even a tiny pool of water hidden in the woods. I begin imagining what, if anything could be living beneath the surface just out of sight. I think that is a big part of what makes fishing so exciting for me.
+618 Fishing Yes, many of the same aspects of water fascinate me. For the most part, for me, it's got to be moving water. The ocean, rivers (ones that can readily be fished without a raft or boat) and especially cold-running creeks where there's a good chance I'll see or catch Eastern Native Brook Trout. These are trout which live such difficult lives and typically survive for seven or eight years reaching lengths of 15" if they're lucky. My oddest catch was after Hurricane Agnes in August of '72 in upstate Pennsylvania. I was fishing at Ole Bull State Park in Potter County, Pennsylvania, in Kettle Creek where a picnic table had been swept into the creek and wedged at a 45° angle in the water; I caught a 22" brown trout which came out from the sheltered area behind the table and smacked my C.P. Swing, hard, as I worked the lure past it. Later, as I fished downstream, a bulldozer shut-off the stream from the new route the water had taken in the park. I returned to the same spot where I'd caught the brown trout and a crew was busy taking the picnic table away. There were little pools which held some sculpting and cubs but the Fish Commission had already taken the stranded trout out to the main branch of Kettle Creek. This episode made a big impression on me in the summer before I started the 11th grade. I still dream of it occasionally. Best wishes and thanks for reading my long post!
+TralfazConstruction * That's "sculpins" and "chubs"
Amazing video with really beautiful little fish. I have caught all kinds of panfish in my life but none so nicely colored. That also has to be the smallest "body" of water I have ever seen anyone fish in! Well done.
+halo1313 this was the first time I've caught this species of fish so i was really excited/surprised to find them in that little puddle! Thanks for watching halo!
wow those little blue gill would be nice catfish bait
+Jer Jer not %100 true. Depending on the type they prefer live fish. BUT you are correct about not using those tiny bluegill, it is illegal to transport fish from one body of water to another. This is put in place to prevent spreading of diseases and other issues
Yes and I do understand that. I'm just saying it would be nice to have some bluegill like that for catfish bait
+Jim Bilbrey thats rock bass
+Jer Jer Absolutely false. Common misconception #1 regarding catfish.
+Sawyer Martin and your point is
more of these i enjoyed this and thats amazing fishing spot you got fish all of time :)
+wilzuxD Thanks wilzuxD I'll definitely be doing more fishing back there and ill be sure to have the camera with me! :]
Awesome juvenile bluegill and that sunfish looked electrifying!
It was raining hard and a big puddle had formed in front of an Irish pub.
An old man stood beside the puddle holding a stick with a string on the end and jiggled it up and down in the water. A curious gentleman asked what he was doing.
'Fishing,' replied the old man.
'Poor old fool' thought the gentleman, so he invited the old man to have a drink in the pub.
Feeling he should start some conversation while they were sipping their whisky, the gentleman asked, ‘And how many have you caught?'
'You're the eighth.'
+CHAPPER15 haha good one CHAPPER15! thanks for watching!
loool..
CHAPPER15 stupid
Haha thats a good joke im going to be telling people soon.

Amazing such tiny water, but what's more interesting is the number of hits this video has.
Great work.
+Andy's Fishing I am very surprised by how popular this video has become. I hope it inspires people to go out and adventure and fish wherever they can because you never know what you might find! Thanks for checking out the video Andy! you have a very epic channel!

Thanks Wiggy! Ya this fishing is pretty fun. you never know where you might find fish!
Oh man . I just watched this . Oldest video of yours I have watched . I have been watching for a little over a year . Great progression. Your quite the show man now little buddy !!

+618 Fishing Do you recommend any places or lakes for me to try
You have come such a long way with your technique, equipment, content, everything. Congrats on your success.
That's very cool. Some of my best fishing days are in little areas like that, catching the little guys.

Awesome! I never would have guessed that there would be fish in there.
awesome video! seems like there were mostly green sunfish in there, with a few bluegills
+sgtpavlov Thanks sgtpavlov! ya this was the first time I've caught green sunfish.. cool looking fish!
Wow he has come a long way
Wow, this is fun!! I love small creek fishing! Thanks for this video man!
bluegill make great pets
Yeah, definitely a lot easier to care for than bass!
GREAT video! I was surprised to learn that you were using pieces of hot dog instead of maybe small worms. I've never tried that. I was also surprised that the size of the bobber didn't make any difference, in terms of spooking the fish. Me, I'd have used a way smaller one. Live and learn, I guess. I'm with Ethan - Make more videos of fishing that creek and other small creeks!
I was surprised at first too but little pieces of hotdog has proven to work quite well for when I'm targeting small fish and it also stays on the hook pretty good compared to worms. I will definitely be doing more vids from small creeks and next time I will use a smaller bobber and a smaller hook! Thanks for watching and commenting James!
I think it was a cool VIDIO but in the next one he should keep them and count them up
Hello sir. We're you using any bait?
+Hayden Bjorklund hello! Yep I was using very tiny pieces of hot dog put on a small hook so that the hook point was just barely exposed. Thanks for watching and commenting Hayden!
hot dog
glizzy
So cool! Happy New Year! Keep these great videos coming!
+Unknown Prince Thanks Prince I will try my best!! Happy new year!!!!!
The fish at 4:02 is a Green Sunfish (Lepomis cyanellus). Awesome video, man! Some good fishing from a super small spot. Heh. Tight lines from a Multi-Species angler in Philadelphia!
+Extreme Philly Fishing Thank you so much for checking out my video man, I love your videos!

Extreme Philly
Heh what's up UA-cam!!!!
Extreme Philly Fishing here
Found this video from 7 years ago and I had already liked it. Been watching awhile now.
My son liked fishing this way when he was 5 or 6 years old... I would laff at him and say he was just dangling his hook and line in the cracks in the rocks... I would try to get him to cast out in the water and catch a big fish... But all he wanted to do was dangle his line in the rocks by the bank so he could catch more fish than me... LOL Great video... Wish my son was 5-year-old again... He is 23 now...
+Z71Ranger Thanks for watching and commenting Z71Ranger! Do you still go fishing with your son?
Those lil guys would look killer in a small pond setup. They're gorgeous!
I don't know about you guys but I enjoy this kind of stuff
I do too!!!!

I do too!
Kyle Zulkifel Ngapas fuck👎

Never pass up the chance to improve your casting skills!
Before the, "see you later buddy" times.. love coming back to your oldies
Good stuff life is just everywhere even in that super urban looking/brick infested (LOL) pool.

Clash master 18 Would you mind giving me one as well
I like it! All you need is a fly rod and some flies, I so love the small streams!
I wonder how far back that water goes underneath that rock.
same
same
It goes under and over to the other side where he hoped over the wall probably
it goes back since the dawn of time!!!
Anthony B
I like fishing in small creeks for fish called creek chubs , awesome video
I like how there are so many different species of fish you can catch in creeks! I have not caught a creek chub yet though! Thanks for watching and commenting man!
Great video subscribed! Keep up good work
Wow you look younger! The fish haven't got much bigger over the years (LOL) but your production has improved a bunch. It was nice to see that I am not the only one getting older
the most rare thing I think I've ever seen someone catch was these hands
growing up me and my brother fished in our ditch we would catch small gills bullheads shiners and carp we had a riot- nice vid 🐟🐟
There is like no water there, how are there even fish in there... Maybe it goes underground a bit for more room? Looks like a junkyard. No edible fish really, all just tiny bluegill. But still crazy fish are there.
He clearly put them there
heather clifton You might be the stupidest person I have ever seen
Tiny fish can get everywhere if there's seasonal flooding. During one time of year there might be a thin stream from some larger body of water, and during that some baby fish got in there. That's how right after the flooding season(like the spring when the snow thaws) you can find small fish in all kinds of puddles.
he looks insecure wich is a shame he is a great fisher.... i subscibed. keep up the great work dude
edit: i love how nice and gentle he is to the fish he really appreciates the little life forms on earth
If two anglers have a competition does that mean they are going Bass to Bass
Cool video man, awesome little spot , amazing what all prolly walk right past!
+WhiteCloudGroovin Thanks for watching WhiteCloudGroovin!
howmany bricks can you get in a stream just watch this vid lol
+skyler solinsky haha
brilliant, anyway you improve their habitat? cheers
+nyleridedog It has rained a bit recently so they have a larger area to swim now but i haven't done anything to it. Thanks for checking out the video Nyles!
looks like your 2nd and 3rd catch is the same fish!?
anyway, nice vid!
Makes me think of my Grand-aun'ts house when i was little - there was a neighbor's pond nearby, and the overflo sluice was loaded with sunfish.
Thanks for bringing back the meories. :)
Do you have any idea what that building used to be? Very cool spot.
+Randy Tyler it was built by the army core of engineers in the late 40's to help prevent erosion in the creek. makes for an interesting place to fish forsure. thanks for watching Randy!
Nice fishing my Friend!
I really enjoyed this video, do more videos here!
+kokonutfreaks Hey I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm planning on another video at this creek either this week or next. Thanks for watching and commenting kokonutfreaks!
Enjoy fishing, more videos again
What a simple life man. I so envy you
I love this Chanel can you do more creek fishing videos because I have a creek in my woods and I fish there all the time. Please do more creek fishing.
Bro you should bring frying pan with you 👍
Bro fr
That was the biggest fish in the whole creek, it can feed a baby bird, or cat...that was a lot of meat and wasted time.Is he starving, and on 'Naked and afraid?" He needs to add some Grubbs! A few more he'll have a complete large fish fry.....keep up the entertainment, the laughter and information...Its like fishing out of the storm drains, yummy! Are all those fish the same reoccurring fish. Great fun for the neighborhood kids, on a boring summer day....Where is this feast being caught at what creek?
what state are you in? looks like where I live in SC
+ROOMDANCE This is in Illinois. Thanks for watching!
ok cool, you should start a native north american fish tank with some of those fish. the long ear sunfish would be a great choice!
I might have to.. I've always wanted a freshwater aquarium
there are alot of vids on yt about it, here is an article also... its something I've aways wanted to do, it's just that you'll need a large aquarium www.fishchannel.com/fish-exclusives/fama/north-american-native-fish-species.aspx
+618 Fishing what part of Illinois? Anywhere Schaumburg or the Chicago suburbs? Looks like a cool spot!
-your newest subscriber
Hahahahahahaha this is from 2015. No cap or sunnies ! You have gone from strength to strength, Nick.
Cheers from Down Under
I fish the runoff in street curbs sometimes, dont really catch shit :/
Yeah same but one time I got lucky and caught a big ass Gar
+Zach Green gar or car? Lol jk
Like a ditch under a bridge curb??
+Bryan Wilson no. like where the sidewalk meets the street there in those holes so the street doesn't flood. you can drop in down those if there's water down there. I've heard many stories of people catching fish in them. especially if you live near any lakes or river
If you wanna catch shit, fish the sewer
it always amazes me little fish like this are in areas you consider puddles
how do you fish like that
We've done the same thing in our wet weather creek! Cool stuff.
+SouthWestIron Appreciate it! thanks for watching!
I am extremely impressed and proud of just how far you’ve come Nick, I appreciate your effort and time in puttin the content together that you do bro. God bless man! 💯🐐 💪🏽
Cool video man.
something i love about places you wouldnt normally think about fishing the fish are not used to seeing a hook they dont know what they are so you get crazy action right away the second that new and exotic food source drops onto there world
That's my sewage run off !
+rednecktalkshow good fishin'!

crazy how those fish are in such a small bit of water. amazing
Great Stuff Mate
