The modeling on all these is EXCELLENT. And thanks for the love and effort shown for the B5 universe. My ONLY criticism is I would think the Hyperion class ships would be much smaller in comparison to the other capital ships (based on their usage in the show) and the Drakh cruiser should be much larger (again, based on a whitestar flying along it in the episode "Lines of Communication".)
It's nice to have a couple of the crew sizes shown. I remember when I saw EC Henry's video on the size of the Enterprise-D and realised it could probably space-wise have over 100k people on board (though its official max capacity is 15k) The Victory class in particular having a crew of 600 is an almost comically small number - that'd be one lovely ship.
“it was jet black, a shade of black so deep your eye just kind of slides off it. And it shimmered when you looked at it. A spider big as death, and twice as ugly. And when it flies by, it’s like there’s a scream in your mind…” RIP Lt Keffer.
Where is the Thunderbolt and the First Ones (except the Shadows / Vorlons) and the races from Third Space .... thanks for the Video :) .... the blue star was new for me, never seen never heared about it
Done videos like this before that had the Planet Killer in them, and it's so huge it wouldn't have worked in this one. The Shadow cloud is just that, a big cloud. Some things just have to be saved for a rainy day. FYI the PK is about 1/2 the size of the 1st Deathstar [DS 120km diameter, PK ~60km long]
2:05 the Shadow's spider looking ship look different with the grey color, but then look at its shadow, then it looks like the real ship from Babylon 5. 🤣
Great video. You forgot the volon transport. Their best ship, Koch 's ship. Second slow down the speed large space ships and include the same info as you did on the first row. It would make it much much better. Also give you better youtube play length. Kudos to your hard work.

В самом сериале для "Экскалибура" была указана длина, если не ошибаюсь, "миля с четвертью". То есть длина корабля - 2315 метров. In the series itself, the length was indicated for 'Excalibur', if I am not mistaken, 'a mile and a quarter'. That is, the length of the ship is 2315 meters.
Search for Tim Earls Size Charts. The instance you're referring to was an oversight in the script. Find the charts by the ship's designer, and you'll see the size I used to be correct.
Great work. Though the standard Sharlin warcruiser is 1600m in LENGTH, giving it over 2km height. And the Hyperion class heavy cruiser is 1025m long, it looked a bit upscaled against the Omega(1714m long) there.
Why didnt you go bigger? I would like to see a Vorlon planet killer shown the correct size as well as the other first ones ships. EDIT- Just saw your next Video lol Exactly how it should be XD
Pretty good. A few scaling questions, but not many. What was that fourth white star design? Not the Blue Star, or the Victory class, or the white star classic.
Nice but what is that Whitestar variant at the top right corner at 1:20? I've never seen it before but I'm liking it. It looks less than half the length of the original but could just as easily be a model for a big beefy heavy cruiser if you scaled it up a mile long.
@@SpacialKatana Nice. So what kind of role do you see it in? We only see two classes of Shadow capitol ship with the smaller scout ship apparently being outmatched by the Whitestar classic one on one. Without the First Ones would this smaller variant function like the shadow scout then? That may overlap too much with the even smaller Bluestar though I suppose the Bluestar could focus more on sneak and run missions where risk of detection or combat is very low. I remember you did a vid with a "Warlock" type upgrade or equivalent for the Nova or Hyperion for the EA fleet. There's plenty of room for heavier gunship versions of the Whitestar too. I mean the ISA Victory class is more like a Vorlon heavy or a Shadow battle crab. While loosely speaking they're just their versions of the Omega or Sharlin there's also a huge difference in power with the Victory coming closest to filling the void left when the First Ones went beyond the rim. Meaning the ISA still never had a true equivalent of a Whitestar Omega much less of a Sharlin or Warlock. Your larger carrier Whitestar is great but I think they'd still need a bigger gun heavy brawler to match anything short of the Drahk one on one without dancing around. Maybe a bigger chunkier version of this model with the wings being a little stubbier to reflect more guns in more firing arcs than just straight ahead and less maneuvering or swooping around even if it's still pretty fast in straight lines.
One shown is 1.5km long [obviously wider] It's the middle variant, however don't get too hung up on Shadow sizes, they're organic so can really be any size within reason. The one's in the show varied between 1 to 2 km in length depending on who rendered it and where/what they were doing.
Thanks. I printed battlecrabs for my gorash scene with 1 km long. And yes it's width is what is giving them vast volume domination compared to similarity in length with gquan cruisers, which is clearly shown in my photos, you could check it in instagram if you wish. As for general size of battlecrab, I never considered before that it might be different not because it's built to particular size, but because this thing is growing over time, if we put into cosideration meaning of word organic. I might publish some of my research designs someday, where I crossbreed battlecrab with trilobite creatures, I need to recheck animation files for modern lightwave versions. Thanks a lot for your inspiration from b5 and LW fan.
The Cortez is parked right next to the station in the episode. It’s 2.84 miles long but in terms of total mass it’s much smaller at 100,000 metric tons compared to the Babylon 5’s 2.5 million metric tons.

I love how much definition these models have. I could never see so much detail on the show, but then again these are space ships and space is dark.
These models are more detailed than the ones in the show due to limitations at the time.

Tbh, I feel Centauri and Narn battleships should be larger and Hyperion class cruiser a bit smaller
