By law here we have to have them on to prevent getting a fine from overly bored policemen, so what we do is we clip them on for the ride to the forest, take them off once there and repeat on the way home. Except once I forgot to take them off and one of them managed to hit me in the face when it decided to yeet itself at 45 km/h downhill on a road.

Every time I see you do a tubeless conversion/anything tubeless related I remember the great explosion from a while back where there was just sealant everywhere. Cheap ass pro-tip: Those giant zip ties that come with new bike packaging are so big, it's super easy to release the lock with a screwdriver and then you can reuse them again for something else. Giant zip ties do come in really handy. I used the ones that came on my Santa Cruz for years to attach my light batteries to my frame :)
@@Sebfish I used zip ties to hold cables to the frame on my 1980's road bike and from it sitting outside for a few years unprotected they snapped easily while I was replacing the derailers.

I ride a Diamondback because of your videos. Saw a great deal on one and figured "Hey, if it's good enough for Seth, it's good enough for me". In my 30 years of riding it's the best fitting and best performing bike I've owned.
Looks great! Is the weight comparable to the older unit? I have those suspension components on my ride, and it didn't take as long as I thought it would to set up. Plus, adjustments for terrain changes is quick. (cuz you know what you want and you just dial it) Color is great. Lots of bright LOOK AT ME colors are the norm now! Be safe!
Diamondback frames have come a long way. Glad to see them back in the fray and there's no denying that you've helped them get alot of exposure. They were a boutique brand back in the 80's when I used to ride BMX (these brands didn't embrace the MTB revolution: Skyway, CW, Mongoose, Redline, Haro) although Mongoose is making strides. Would love to see DB and Mongoose grab some markethshare by lowering prices on high end bikes. Good looking ride BTW

I had these serious colour bikes for years. Black with red, black with grey, dark blue .... bronze .... Then I got a Nomad in "adder green" colour and it just cheers me up every time I look down at it. It's harder to clean and it is really hard to colour match.... it is not elegant ..... yet .... I just love the colour. I imagine the orange is just like that. I used to have a fluorescent orange frame waaaaaay back and I loved it too.

Greetings all the way from México city my son and I are new subcribers, we love bikes, but can't afort those nice bikes like you have in you garage. It's a dream to have something like that Here in México we have something like a fleemarket well kind of lower we call it mercado, like chacharas or use parts when ever we find one good part we just asamble our bikes with where ever we can scrap and make it work.. and we go for a ride in the park but like you know when you have an use bike with use parts it brakes down 😅 but it doesnt stop as to keep trying have fun i told my son when you grow up and have a good job you can buy one of those fancy bikes like the dimondback you have. With the pandemic i lost my job so we use the old bikes we buy from the fleemarket or tianguis here in México... we enjoy watching you hacks and how you can ride at the back of you own house. Whenever i see people struggling with removing stickers i just gotta come and say: Use lighter fluid to melt the glue. Just soak the sticker in it, peel it off and clean the area with a rag Works on anything from vinyl record sleeves, comicbooks and movie cases to glass, metal and plastic without damaging the art or paint underneath
In ‘19 I got a new bike with Hope (DOT fluid) brakes and SRAM AXS shifting. I love the feel of those brakes. They have excellent modulation, especially with heat in them. The AXS shifting is amazing, still. Seth, once you get AXS, you won’t go back!
I test road my friends bike with x01 axs a couple weeks back. I liked it well enough, but honestly liked the xt drive train on my bike more. Don't love the ergonomics of the axs remote.

Seth.. i highly recommend you to research on Marzocchi history... was one of the pioneers of the suspensions field and one of the greatest before even Fox was born...
Here are a few upgrades I thought of: Fox Float DPX2 to Float X (much better for trail riding) Alloy Truvativ crank to carbon crank (like the Truvativ Descendant Carbon) SRAM AXS drivetrain (which was mentioned in the video). Either GX or X01, but with an X01 or XX1 cassette (apparently the GX cassettes develop noise problems over time, and also the X01/XX1 ones last longer).

A couple things. Firstly, it's understandable that you had a spill previously on that course. Pretty aggressive course. And seeing silver in your hair and beard, you have a few years on you so your reaction time is gradually slowing and you're going to bruise a bit more easily and take a bit longer to recover as you age. No sin there. We all get old. But you're in good shape and riding will help keep you that way. Just may have to tone it down a bit going forward to prevent injuries. I'm nearing 70 so I know a little something about aging. Finally, if you're having trouble finding the "hole" put a little hair on it. You'll find it. 😄 Good vid.👍
Great video as always… But a little tip for your small equipment ( packer) left out in the elements cover it with a small tarp or piece of Polly. Water has a funny way of over time finding it’s way through and into your engine.

Seth, pro tip for building up new bikes. Locate the seat/post first. Stick in in the frame and then pull the whole bike out and stick it straight into the work stand. Now you can peel all of the packing off without leaning/balancing.
nice bike! i kinda like the color, I know what youmean as far as wanting/ not wanting a new bike, you had the older dialed n set up just the way you liked, all the right adjustments, parts, etc, just the way you like. you dont really need anything else. What you got/had works just fine for you.
