After 14 incredible years I lost my Ciaque to a bird virus that was picked up after she interacted with a pet store parrot, I lost the most valuable relationship Id ever had even at the age of 58, Im 68 now and still dream of Katiebird, This was even after all shot recommended, I know it came form store as store lost 4 others. If I ever get in position to share life with a katiebird again I would NEVER risk loosing her buy ignoring the expect warnings, no other interaction with another bird unless there are papers proof of vaccine, this post is meant to serve as a reminder that there are no do overs and for those that are invested with the love shared, its a loss like no other.
I’m so sorry. I just lost my conure Gracie and miss her talking to me. I have bought a Caique baby and visited it today. Will get him/her in couple of months. Can’t wait. So glad to get your story as I had thought about taking it back in for visits. Will not be doing that now even with shots.
Ring necks have mpre theater kid dramatoc flair energy than any other birb. If they get the chance, they can And will try to be the center of attention
Beautiful birds!! I have 2 ringneck's one green (male)and one yellow(female)!! I also have 2 cocktails a Bebe parrot and a jenday parrot!! I have a little pet store!! Lol!!
Of course he's excited, that mean ol'' caique is stuffing his face and s/he hasn't a thing! For pity's sake, give that poor, poor starving thing a treat, too! ;)

They actually do talk, but not in the most comprehensive way you would expect to hear spoken from a parrot. It's a little hard to describe their "speach" but if you do some research, you will probably get better answers than the ones I can provide. My caique does speak, but you have to listen closely to interpret what he's saying. He say's [without trouble] "Hello" , "Hi" , "I'm-a-pretty-bird"
