- Congo was rescued by Thulani German Shepherd Rescue.
Congo is a very nice German Shepherd I met at the West LA Shelter. He's about 5-7 years old, a little shy but very nice. I saw no issues whatsoever during the time I handled him. The shelter volunteers said they've had him out with dogs and there was no problems, and most surprisingly was that he visited the cat room and had no reactions to cats. This is very rare.

I hope he gets adopted soon, Wish I lived closer, Because I have Have had GSD all my life and I have 2 now that are 13.5 years old. Awesome dogs
So sad that no one has taken Congo home after 6 months. It's hard to find a sheltered Shepherd in the midwest. They are one of the most loyal dogs anyone could have. And yes, I'm partial to them too, having 2 of them.
We got tons of Shepherds out here on the west coast!

I'm in the midwest and when I was looking it was mostly pits and pit mixes. I looked for 3 months and ended up getting an Aussie pup from a local farmer. I did take in a year old GSD almost 2 years ago I got from an ad. He was in a poor home and I thought I would get him healthy and find the right home for him. Turned out this was the right home for him! :)
Awwww, he looks lovely, six months in that environment 😢, his backend looks nice too, someone please adopt him.

How is it that Taski, who is healing a broken leg that he had when we was turned in, has such a short deadline to be adopted, yet Congo has been at the shelter for six months?

He is beautiful! I wish I could take him! I seriously hope this guy gets a home asap. GSDs are amazing dogs. Shadow was terrified when we got him from the shelter. Congo looks pretty chill just a little unsure. I hope he finds a good home with the right owner. ❤❤❤

I have been keeping tabs on Congo, who I fell in love with but could not be sure we would be the right home for him…I can no longer see him on the shelter website. I am hoping this truly was an adoption for him and would love to know for sure. That would be so wonderful. He was so gentle and I am grateful the world got introduced to him through your video.
I am now paying attention to KODO - working to get him attention. Anyone here who has not yet seen the update on Kodo - please see the video just released about him on Mr. Cabral’s channel and share. He only has until MARCH 5 to be adopted or he is killed. He is a joy to watch as he learns new skills so quickly from Mr. Cabral.

Reminds me a lot of my Lucy, except for being friendly with dogs and cats.
Same age, and fearful.
Lucy and I have taken a step back due to the fact that she is experiencing random pain in her back leg, and thinks something is "getting" her.
Vet prescribed pain, and antianxiety meds.
24 hours on the antianxiety med and she was not engaging with me much at all and very lethargic.
Not going to give her the trazadone for the time being.
Hope someone gives him a chance. It's going to have to be someone with a lot of patience.
