@@HomesteadingtheHardWay Thank you so much! I've got to say, I've been a big fan of your channel since the beginning! You are an absolute wealth of knowledge!
totally right. heard someone I know talk about their operation selling pigs slaughtered without permits ect. said they just were "helping" the people butcher cut, wrap, pig for their use. which isn't acceptable as a common loop hole as people buying pig weren't present and may not have owned pig before it was killed. custom slaughter laws don't apply ether. One unhappy customer reports you and that's the end. Glad to see you posting again, I have missed you folks.
That's a really good example. I had problems letting people use my facilities to process sheep and goats . The laws can be tricky to begin with and if you think you're outsmarting the government they can show you different quick
I'd like to ask you a question, maybe an idea for a video; my dad had an old cauldron that held about 50 gallons and occasionally he would put a bit of almost everything (potatoes, grain, vegetables, anything he had) into it and put it over a fire and make what he called slop for the hogs, I still remember how much the hogs loved it. Have you ever done that ?
Big Mike still does that , it's actually a law that you have to cook food scraps before you feed them. With the amount of hogs we have it's just too time consuming
@@HomesteadingtheHardWay Probably read something that was what they wanted to hear and like you said, wrong at the top of their voice. Them and their friends'll even get mad at you for speaking the truth, as if you agree with the way the government is run because you're trying to help them out.

Great video. New to hogs. Trying to learn. What do you use for waterer. I’m currently using old 40 gallon pickle drum with nipples but wondering if better way
I just cut thirty gallon drums in half the long way ,add some bars so they can't lay in them and attach it to the fence or a slab of concrete. They tear nipples up so bad id rather just water them twice a day . Look in the background you'll see the setup

It's like Joel Salatin says - it's so dangerous that you can give away all you want, but it only becomes illegal when money changes hands.
That's the long and short of it
Excellent information Chris and it's great to see you again. Those are some great looking hogs in the background.
Thank you Mark
Always enjoy seeing y’all and enjoyed the video
Thank you
Well said Chris. It doesn't matter how many times you try to speak the truth on things some folks just don't get it. Glad to see you're doing well!
All I can do is put it out there if they don't want to hear it they'll just have to learn the hard way.
I appreciate all your comments you put out there just to bring things to our attention. Not enough channels practice that
I just try to tell how things really work . Too many people repeating a fairy tale

Your pig set up is looking mighty nice these days. Good to see you!
We're adding on steadily
Hi Chris, always good to see you! Appreciate your work.
Thank you
Every hog that leaves my place is walking and grunting. I’m allergic to paperwork and handcuffs.
The problem we had wasn't really pig related it was with making and actually giving away value added products
