- In this video I show every step in the installation of a goat fence on open pasture. You might need electric fencing in addition to this design, but in my experience it has not been necessary.

This is exactly what this new homesteader needed. Simple, straightforward. Thank you!
Thank you for this simple, no-frills, no-nonsense tutorial fir those of us who don't have access to fence pulling equipment or the cash for fancy fencing!
So, we not gonna talk about the 2 deer just hanging about :) GJ sir
Came to the comments to say this exact thing lol
Did anyone realize the deer that walked out behind him at 1:45 haha that was cool.
The fence level is neat. I hadn't seen one of those before. Here's a tip that I got from a professional fence builder years ago and it works. You don't need to add water even if your building fence in the desert which is where the guy who told me this built fences. The concrete will wick moisture out of the ground and harden up all by itself the same as a bag of concrete will harden even if you leave it sitting around inside a building.
Nice, goats and pasture. 2 of my favorite things!
Could not have been a more perfect video for my current project. Thanks! Great information and entertaining.
How's your fence holding up following this guide, 4 years later? I'm tipping it's held up as well as the safe and effective narrative over the same time period
It’s held up great, despite a couple of items I would have done differently. I’m currently goatless, but I am about to get some sheep or a llama or some shit, and will be using the pen as I built it. Thanks for asking, cheers!
Great video! Exactly what I needed to see for my current project.
You have an amazing property! Great job on the Video!
perfect video. Straight to the point...no nonsense
Your videos are great, don’t stop!!!
Happy goats!! 💕🌸🦋
Great video. Thanks so much!
Great Video. Thanks for posting -no pun intended.
Well damn, that was straight and to the point. Thanks!!
Not Ba-a-a-ad lol, great video btw.
thank you for this. this is extremely accessible
Awesome! Just what I needed.
Awesome video. Great editing!
Thank you
Cute goats!
Great video mate, thank you..
Thank You 🙏
It is stronger to put the fence on the inside of the posts instead of the outside.
Yes, but like he said, without motivation they wont want out. But, predators looking for food, will want in.
On the inside as the animals lean against it and being on the inside keeps the pressure on the posts and not on the outside there the pressure would be on the clips.
Thank you for this! Two questions: 1) Can goats eat tall overgrowth like 10 feet tall? Not "trees" per say, but just brush? 2) If I already have pastures with standard, 4 or 5 wire cattle fencing AND electric, will I NEED to add the welded wire fencing? They probably could squeeze through the existing gaps, but will they try? It has a low and a higher electric wire. Former owner had cattle and pigs. Thanks
Goats will get their horns stuck in bigger gaps
This is a very neat and helpful video, good work! I'm wondering where is to buy the bending rod tool used to buckle the wire end. That's really handy. I had winding wire problem, had to use my fingers.
Thanks...Off topic, but do you need to feed them, in addition to grazing?
Dairy goats give you more milk if you feed them oats.
What tool do you use when you are attaching the wiring to the t post?
Are those pet deer?
I thought that was deer I saw. I cant believe a wild deer would come so close, got to be tamed pet deer.
Lol they are goats
@@jeremypowell7727 no those are definitely deer that run behind him a few times. 3:07 for example.
@@jeremypowell7727 3:15 definitely not a goat lol
Saw them on anothet vid, those are domesticated deer.
where did you find the tool to attach the wire clips to the post. really does a great job.
following
Jesus christ man, deer walking right next to you! Thats wild how is nobody mentioning that?
Will this keep the neighbor’s goats and the neighbors out of my yard?
Are those whitetail that are human conditioned (fed)? I thought maybe increasing game biomass would take predator pressure off the goats.
How much do you think it roughly costs for every 100'?
around $150 (10 posts, 100 feet of welded wire fence)
Is there a specific name of that tool you used to put the hooks around the T posts?
Clip bender or t post wire clip tool. I have another video showing that tool up close.
gregpryorhomestead thanks
gregpryorhomestead hey man is a great video, but I’m find out how much u spend for all , to do the 700 hundred feet, please let me know
Uhm sir do you have pet deer 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I swear I’m paying attention but I saw a deer just walk beside you and I was amazed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What brand of fencing is that?
Whitetail deer?
What was the name of the tool that you used for twisting the clips? Thank you
look for wire twisting tool ...www.zarebasystems.com/zareba-high-tensile-3-hole-twisting-tool-httt
How much did this entire area cost you in materials. I have a 2.5 acre lot I’m about to do
jeremy surratt I have this same question. Wondering how much the materials (posts) and fencing material (wire fencing) costs per bundles you showed.
You can probably do that for around 2k
It’s $150 for 100 feet of fence. That’s 10 posts and 100 feet of wire.
How much did all of that cost???
Don’t get welded wire if you are going to put up fencing! Unless you just want it for a couple of years! Been there done that!
Old but underrated comment 😉😁
HEY WILBURR : WHAT YA DOING THERE
So you using electric fencing yet ?😙
🙂
why don't you brace those corner posts?
There's little to no tension on the fence so it's not needed.
Um did I see a deer walking around right behind him?
It's been 5 years since you made this video, how has the welded wire held up?
No problems there. But if the wire is submerged it will rust away
Please make a video on tool u using in farms plz
those were some deer in those video lol does it work on them too?
Am I seeing things or are those deer? LOL they are so close. Are they pet deer or just used to you?
Kaltrina Demiri Did you not notice the collar on them?
Yup the deer have collars. Pet deer……So jealous…..
Wire is on the wrong side of the posts.
I think they would prefer to be in those trees eating brush...
The ADD in me only saw deer.
I know that woodprix has the best woodworking plans ever.
That is a crap fence
No way in hell would I use the crap fence for goats
Michael Smith what do you mean?
@@houstonmacbro do goats go to barn at night or left in field?
