My first car at age 16 in 1975 was a 1963 Nova SS hardtop. Back then it was only 12 years old. It was in decent condition overall, but the engine burned a lot of oil. It had the 194 ci straight six. The 1963 Nova SS was not available with a V8. Had a floor shifted PowerGlide transmission. It was my dads car. He gave it to me shortly after I got my license, and bought a 1972 Ford Pinto wagon. It burned more oil than gas. Was probably maintained. He had only owned it about 2 years. Within a year I had replaced that straight six with a 283 V8. I built a custom dual exhaust with glasspacks, and put aluminum 5 slotted wheels on it. I wanted Cragar S/S wheels, but being a 4 lug setup, they wouldn't fit. I drove it till 1981, sold it, and bought a 1972 Rally Nova with a 350/4 speed.
I had a 64 Chevy nova before I went into the Navy. The engine was bad, and the wiring needed work, my parents sold it to someone who was going to restore it , glad it had a good home
We had a 62 chevy 2 , 2dr factory a/c 2 speed power glide trans and straight 6 in1977. I rebuilt the 6 and we drove it for 14yrs, sold it for a station wag. W e miss the car so much and have never seen one like it today. Great vid thank you

I had a 64 Chevy II and installed a 283 with the powerslide tranny. I owned the world then in 1971! I was 17 then...
There's a big part of me that wants to put a 283 or 350 in it!
