It's amazing how I grew up as a kid eating grits, if I was visiting family in the Carolina's I knew we were going to have grits. "Yummy" WHY? did it take me to become a grown woman to find out first, how great grits are with cheese. Now! all these goodies that can be added to the grits, now I'll be honest I have never added milk and mine turn out very creamy. I hate going to a brunch and here's grits that are lumpy & no season, I'm thinking who cooked these grits "Lol" Miriam you're on 100 percent fire when it comes to cooking & I know your family and friends look forward to coming to your house. I'm surprise you didn't give yourself a high five on this meal. By the way I'm drinking more water and leaving McDonald's sweet tea alone. Lol
So then. I am Cajun. I live on Bayou Lafourche in southeast Louisiana. I am almost 73 and until about 10 years ago I had never had Shrimp & Grits. I had them at McElroy's in Biloxi, MS. The grits were cooked firm then shaped into a square and fried, and all the sauce and shrimp added. This was delicious. I have had them since at different restaurants, and they are always soft like yours. This must be the norm? Although very good, I wonder why the difference. BTW yours looks amazing!
I did a 2 day cleanse for the 1st time. I also liked the way I felt, I lost 5.4 lbs. I also do intermittent fasting. I don't think there's anything wrong with a cleanse every now and then to give your body a break.
