I don’t mind the new land cruiser look, but for sure would prefer the 70 series everyone else is getting. My biggest concern is the 4 cylinder hybrid engine, curious to see how that works out with the new Land Cruiser and Tacoma
The discourse on this new LC is odd to me. I mean, the new 550 is obviously what you want if you want the bigger form factor of this vehicle, and this new one looks pretty good. That’s subjective for sure, but it’s not like bad. Also the engine is certainly is different and subjective. However, it’s great power and torque and great mpg, in a vehicle with standard center/rear locker, full time 4x4, heated interior, and cool looks. I mean that’s pretty cool to me. I think people don’t realize that the Lexus lx470 and the land cruiser were the same vehicle and as such were stepping on each other for sales. It was making the LC way more luxurious and expensive. This is a return to the affordable overland vehicle. The Lexus 550 off road version or otherwise is the luxury version and bigger. It makes a lot of sense
I've never owned any Toyota. Owned lots of Jeeps (currently a Gladiator). But I surprisingly love the look of the new Landcruiser. Seems way more off road-y than the new Grand Cherokees and Wagoneers. Not sure about that engine, tho. True that the EPA is the arch enemy of Jeep, real Landcruisers, and all that is fun in the universe.
The EPA (like other govt agencies) have too much say and power to implement regulations and laws. Like you said...these agencies are also hypocritical. Diesels are great especially with modern technology to make them more environmentally friendly. The Japanese manufacturers like Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc really have great reliability diesels we will most likely never see here in N.A because of the EPA. Great video
I have to agree brother. I understand that the EPA regs are what causes it all. But, I was bummed when I saw all the "big" channels kiss Toyota's ass on this new Land Cruiser. I will keep my FJ and my LC80 until I die.
I just seen my first one on my way to Cape Lookout in NC. From PA. I told my boy what is that weird station wagon thing! No lol it’s sad we can’t get great rigs anymore… as I sit on the beach in my M1010 with my boy after an in house shower, drinking a cold rootbeer from the fridge freezer talking about GOD and the old days. Oh also enjoying the on board A/C after we filled our belly’s in the kitchen! Yup all in 6x9 foot on an old diesel squarebody!!!
I love the yo but i can't get a yo because most of the yo's in new zealand have street wheels and I don't like em because they are to expensive for an fj

Yeah I can't disagree! The Land Cruiser doesn't look that terrible but yes unfortunately the EPA has struck once again...
Landcruiser is nice but it be awesome if it came in a 2door like the FJ and Defender.
100% agree, I would love to see an FJ remake!

Honestly my brother, Land Cruiser has my heart but the GX550 might be the better bang for buck. Good video!
The GX550 is actually pretty sweet I am not going to lie!
I’m on board!
Ran, don't rant, don't care just stand a little to the side so we can see the FJ more. Cheers for the content.
Thanks for watching 👊
@irunandride1 I hope when this kid hits big he can look back to your comment and send you an autographed picture of his FJ!
"Hello there, I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
Run. 😂
EPA, ATF, IRS 🖕

My dream is to get a bj40 but the older the car the more checks it has to have so I'm sorta screwed
I love the BJ40s! That is also on my bucket list... unfortunately they are very hard to find.
