Would love to hear how the Soft tex in the LC compare to the full leather in the first edition. You can add leather trimmed seats with the premium package upgrade in the LC, but I'm not sure it's worth it. If the soft tex is anything like the outgoing Lexus GX460 soft tex, they will be plenty comfortable and easier to maintain than the full leather.

@@Dojo-v6m - Fair question. Really, there is no perfect full size SUV for me. I want to tow 10,000 pounds, off-road like a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and get 30mpg. Of course, there's no such beast. But almost every full sized SUV is 3-row and I have absolutely no need for that extra row. I travel alone and don't want to waste money and space on a third row, that I can't remove completely to have a totally flat floor. I know one or two do have a 2-row option (Expedition might, I think) but they are pretty rare.
The new Ford Ranger might do enough for me. But with everything getting smaller and less powerful, choices diminish.

The only thing I don't like on all trim levels , are the rims. Would of liked to see something like the TRD style rims that were found on the Tacoma , FJ Cruiser , and 4Runner. In my eyes this is the new 4Runner with a new name , since the next generation 4Runner is to be completley different , more like a FJ Cruiser/Jeep style from what I have heard. The current 4Runner and previous models shared a lot with the Lexus GX. Now the new Land Cruiser shares those same similarities with the new Lexus GX.

Why Why Why not make the back seats lay down flat? You can go to the wild side but then must pitch a tent bc your awesome 4x4 seats will not lay down flat. That's the main complaint with the 4runner. No camping in the 4runner bc of the crazy fold in the seats. I hope they fix that in the new one. Toyota even advertises and puts cup holders and USB ports in the cargo area but you can not lay down flat.

I kinda feel like they missed a big 4th demographic, the "City Slicker" edition. Could have been optimized for primarily suburban and urban lifestyle. Could be lighter weight none of the heavy off road stuff, optimized for fuel economy/maybe even a hybrid for 30+MPG, lower ride, etc. I mean, who do they think they're fooling with all this? Everybody already knows most of the people buying these are going to fall into the use pattern I just described and would appreciate the adjustments. Most of these will never see dirt, much less actual camping of off roading.
I love these and think they're awesome, but the idea of all the people loading all this weight around for no reason while doing nothing to adjust our collective fuel usage comes off as ridiculously tone deaf in todays world. I would jump at such a vehicle but I'd be pretty hesitant about these as is as a daily driver. Ultimately these are going to be driven 90% on roads in cities with no need for the features that add weight and bloat resource use.

Will we be able to spec out/upgrade the middle grade Land Cruiser to include everything the First Edition includes minus the appearance items? Is there anything missing as far as technology on the First Edition. Ultimately I’m wanting the most Luxurious option of the Land Cruiser as my hwy cruiser. I would prefer the GX but can’t wait on the hybrid and can’t suffer through the poor mpg of the non-hybrid GX. Appreciate any advice

Do you think you'll be able to get a Sunroof on the 1958? If not, can you spread the word to Toyota exec's? lol

Give us a V6 engine option, no turbo, no hybrid

So the moon roof is an option? It's something I will skip in the LandCruser edition.

I was so excited about the land cruiser and am waiting to buy a new car, it looks awesome, but this looks like it shrunk - will need to choose a different vehicle. Too bad at least 1 of the 3 trims couldn't have been a little larger.

Hmmmmmm. OK. So I was an FJ Cruiser driver at one time - but regretted not getting a 4Runner instead. Today I have a 2022 Grand Cherokee and I don't think the Land Cruiser is a clear winner there. Only the fact that my GC is a WJ and a Laredo give the Land Cruiser a good chance.........or I might go back and load up a brand new GC Trailhawk.
I think there sounds like a lack of options here. But I guess that may fill out later in the year. I would like to see 5 trims and lots of overlap. In the end, maybe it depends what you want. I want equal parts towing, off road and economical single vehicle daily driver (retired, so no more commuting for me).

OK - no A/C on the 1958 so forget that trim for Arizona. The First Edition sounds limited volume. So my trim choice is no choice - Land Cruiser Land Cruiser.
