I had the same experience at the 2024 Philadelphia Marathon. The hill near the zoo and the one around the half had me questioning the "flat race course" label this race touts. My leg started cramping at mile 15 too. The cramps kept on until the end of the race. I was grateful for the nutrition bars and orange slices being handed out during the last 10 or so miles. I must say that the race had a marathon major feel to it. They did a great job. You did a great job powering through. Good luck in your future endeavors!
Well done! Philly actually sold out of entries this year, otherwise I would have entered into it myself; I have heard only good things about the city, contestants, the course itself, and the crowd at large!
Honestly it’s probably the shoes we are not used to running with carbon plate in our training. Same Happened with me at mile 17 calf cramp on my left leg. Never happened with my non carbon shoes. Congrats
