For the most of my life I hated running. I despited it, always wanted to stop and never understood why we chose to run, voluntarily. Running a marathon in May taught me that I can do what I set my mind to despite my past. I was never the ‘runner’ or athletic person in general. But now I run because I love it. And it was necessary for myself to remind me of that today. I told myself: no matter the result, be proud. I set the goal of sub 1:40 to prove to myself that I can be, what I for 15+ have been told I wasn’t: fast is subjective but I was fast today. Fast for myself and no one else. “Run this race like it’s the last thing you’ll ever do”. 1:38:30 to me and my younger self. I am so d*mn proud ❤❤❤
Believe me, you can! 2 years ago I ran my first half at 1h 55 minutes and I was feeling horrible during and afterwards. I never considered myself 'a runner' yet alone was I always the one who s*cked at PE and sports in general. But with dedication, motivation and the right mindset, you can turn your life around!
i was raised on volleyball and had played it for 8 years but as with every sport there comes an end to it. but I had to find a replacement for this emptiness. so right now I am training for my 1st ever half marathon which is happening in exactly 33 days. I have never been more consistent with my workouts. I have a huge faith in myself but it is scary juggling between realistic time goal and a goal to "just finish it". but following you has been such an inspiration! congrats on the new PB, many more to come and please keep enjoying running :)
I'm so happy you found the love for running! Proud of your dedication! Remember to enjoy the race, especially since it's your first. Do not get caught up in hitting certain numbers. I'd advise you to go out, run, have fun and then whatever the result may be at the finish line is your 'starting' point for future progression! Keep me posted, I'm sure you'll do great!!
It was fun watching your progress on the CPH app. After the 10K mark, there was no doubt you'd crush 1:40 easily. I was able to catch a glimpse of you at the live finish. UA-cam had a live feed as well; however, right before your finish, they cut to an interview. Nonetheless, you did exceptionally well. Congrats. 👍
Tysm!! It's actually quite early here. It used to begin at around 11am the previous years but due to the temperatures and a lot of people getting heatstrokes, they decided to forward it to 9am 😅
Congrats on completing you're goal! I knew you would do it! I don´t have any race goals. (I do not handle crowds very well, so no races for me) I do however try to keep consistant in my running and go for 3 times a week. (and hope i can go to 4 times a week later on) After small injury and a week of being under the weather I don't like I have to start smaller, slower and shorter runs... but I cross my fingers that in 2 weeks I am back to my normal running form and can improve myself from were i left before getting sick. I would love to run to the beach again to see the sun rise. ( for now I have to go on the bike :p also nice but running is more fun ;) ) What is after you're well deserved rest you're goal?
Thank you ❤️ I’m cutting out exercise and intense movement for the next undefined period of time to fully take care of myself. I’ll be honest and say this race was a bit of a pressure and I felt like I had to live up to certain expectations. With that said, I’m proud of my achievement but this day also marks a huge swift in priorities :)
I've been loving your running outfits from Saysky! Would you know if they shipped to the Philippines? So hard to buy high-quality running gear in southeast asia ugh
This CPH Half was my first ever Half marathon or any type of run like this, been practising for the past 4 months, but only took it more serious 3 weeks before raceday, was aiming for 2:30 time but with all the energy from the runners and specatotrs i found some energy i didnt know i had and finished at 2:10:49, my body was also hurting like crazy, and im only now recovering i feel like. Congrats on your 1:40 finish :)
@@katharinaschneiderr fab thank you! might have to find something else similar as I'm currently buying a flat but i don't think we have that chain in the uk :(

Such an awesome result! Congratulations! (Side note, I’m shocked how “late” the HM started, I feel like all my local events are 8am or earlier) 😅

Your awesome! Did my first half here, 2:16 and next year going for sub 2!
also unrelated and I think you've mentioned it before sorry but I can't find where you said - where did you get your sofa from?

Ah no, unfortunately not! He was way gone when I finished 40 min later :')
