I saw Paper Moon when it was released. I was 17. I bought the album. I was just beginning to appreciate music from 30s and 40s. I thank Bette Midler for Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy for introducing me to that period
Interesting. Since there’s few filmed performances of bands and singers from the 30s, it’s cool to see those people, even if it’s from a later era (like here, the late 50s). Have you ever noticed that “The Object of My Affection” is one of the few songs where the assumption is that the singer is a white man? Sad, but with the blatant racism of that era, I guess that it’s not surprising…
Pinky nailed it 25 years later. I just love this song. Play it all the time right here on UA-cam.
Always special to hear a classic American tune from one of the creators. Wonderful! :)
Love Pinky. Silky voice. Irene melted.
So neat! That song was part of the soundtrack to Paper Moon. In fact, the song is available on iTunes. Enjoy!
Love these old songs
Lovely song!
Great job ! 🎵
But my favorite is still by
"Alfalfa", of The Little Rascals. 🙂
Yes. I was in love with Darla back in the day

Cool that Groucho had a live band on set.
Hermosas personas.🌹🌻🌷💐
Outstanding! My favorite version, however, is Bing's.
I love his version of Ragtime Cowboy Joe, quite a lot, actually. :)
For a real treat, check out Pinky Tomlin's Ragtime Cowboy Joe (1938): ua-cam.com/video/UVbKECXjmAE/v-deo.html
Großartig! But I wonder why Pinky changed the lyrics to his song in this performance.
From “She’s not the kind to take a dare” to “She’s not the kind to be unfair”?
I dunno. But he must have preferred it.
