A word of encouragement. Once you have the basics down, a good sounding amp with some nice effects will help you keep at it, which will make you sound better and better.
@@kenschwentker4446 Thank you for the kind words, Sir! I play for relaxation and enjoyment. You are totally right, though. The range of effects tends to keep me noodling much longer that I might otherwise! Hope your days are happy ones!
Ive just got this AMP and it is totally awesome! My favorite tone is Gain 8-10, Treble also around 8, Bass 5, Delay middle 4-5, it is really good tone for lead widesounding solos.
I needed a bus-friendly amp to take to open mics that weighs much less than my tube amps, to take to local open mics in smaller venues. We have some good blues jams here in Denver. It held its own at Lincon's Roadhouse Sunday, bought it the night before. I had the volume at about 9 and varied the gain depending on the song. The gain control works well with the various amp models. I normally despise modeling amps, and have no need for a Mustang 1 v2's complication.
Great demo. Amps are getting cheaper, sounding better, more reliable and more versatile than ever. When I started nothing like this was available or if it was you had to pay huge bucks.
All Fender stuff sounds good Some sound better I love this amp Been playing since 1977 Have had amps that kids die for now The simplicity of it, no pedals needed is priceless . Miine is a one of a kind head Atop my desk 1x12 underneath the desk
I also have got this amp 4 years ago and i use it as an effect box after my pedalboard and before the audio interface of my laptop. The metal voicing are incredibly warm and tight and the blackface voice is perfect for clean stuff witg single coil pick ups. Great amp consideriny the price.
Thanks bro~ I was shocked by this amp when I first got it, too. But the build in speaker is bad! I suggest using this amp like I do, phone recording output or another full range speaker amp.
As long as using a full range type of speaker like a keyboard amp or monitor speaker, the amp will have much better performance compared to the original.
Huge props to you for not only demonstrating the tones, but also the fact that the headphone output sounds pretty great. I wanted to get a budget-friendly amp that I can record from later down the road, and this sounds like it will definitely do the trick. Thanks a lot!
Iv'e had one for 6 months, and still getting new tones out of it, it's a great apartment practice amp, and paired with some quality studio headphones you can crank it up without the neighbors complaining
Sounds SUPERB! Fender has come a lomg way with SS Amps ever since the first Champ XD'S were released which also sound Great and these Champions have the same sweet sounding circuitry minus the Tubes to worry about. Excellent line these little wonders.
This is a really good presentation of the tones that can be achieved with the amp. I recently bought one and love it. The thing I really like is that it's super easy to dial in a tone. Thanks!
I like the Champions, and I'm not a Fender brand fanboi in particular. Every one of them is gold. Friendly, easy to use interface ergonomics, superb tonal quality, versatility, and affordable. What's not to like?
I bought this amp 6 months ago and I love it. I finally paired my strat with a fender amp. This is the way god wanted it. True fender sound for your fender guitars. I don't use the on board effects though. I use a Zoom G1on pedal so I can footswitch tones during a song. It also boosts the volume of the amp. I use it on stage in a small casino with computer drums and bass, so I don't know if it's loud enough with a drummer. My favorite amp so far. Buy this if you want a clean crisp sound.
I am also looking for a amp that is clean at high volumes. I currently have Blackstar Core ID - on it to get clean, I have the put gain at 1.5 and volume at 7 (clean channel), but still on hard strumming there is some distortion. This is disappointing. I also use G1Xon. My question is how clean is the clean on this amp? If I have to get distorted sound, I prefer using the pedal patches.
im buying this for myself sometime next week. it’s gonna be the first thing i actually buy myself cuz my parents were kind enough to buy me 2 guitars and an amp already. super hyped to get to play this very soon hopefully
The headphone out on this amp actually sounds pretty good, especially for the higher gain tones. A lot of amps high gain tones through their headphone outs sound thin and fizzy but this sounds quite full
I have 1 . Great little practice amp. Never had 1 problem with mine. I play thru this more then my Marshall DSL40. Which is in my bsement. And mainly used for band practice and playing out.
Thank you Jimmyrocks, I was about to buy a mustang 1 v2 but this thing looks so much easier to navigate and sounds just as good I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with this one

Great video thank you. Shows what knowledge and technique can achieve with a simple amp. Great encourage to work hard on skill without dropping to much cash on expensive amps.
Best demo of the various abilities of this amp I've seen yet. The headphone out doesn't sound too bad at all. Using a couple of mics...one off axis at the speaker and another several feet away would be even better. Very surprised by this amp. Great playing too.
Thanks. The headphone does give me a big shock! It's so convenient for recording situation. Also for late night practicing, too. Anyway, Thanks for your support. Appreciate it.
I bought a PRS S2 24 standard from a pawn shop and I asked them to throw the little fender amp in as well. I didn’t plan on keeping it around, but it’s the best practice amp I’ve ever had. Practice amps should be simple. You shouldn’t be spending 45 mins dialing in a tone.
Same here....I just got rid of a blackstar artisan ae that cost $400 and I can get every British tone the blackstar had with the British setting and more. I'm blown away. No tubes to worry about either. Just gotta see how it takes pedals but since it's a fender I'm assuming very well. The technology is here to lose your tubes honestly. Tubes are great but for most people who fiddle around in their bedrooms this is an easy choice. Musicians usually purchase way outside of their needs... .not I.
Good review and good playing. I first bought the Mustang II but found it way to complicated for a room practice amp. Traded it for Champion 20. Maybe the best practice amp on market for under $100. Simple to use & with all the right amount of effects. I also really like this Champion amp for home recordings. Very clean with no hum. Thx
Hello. The result we hear in that video is achieved simply by plugging the headphone jack directly into the soundcard ? without mics, whithout anything ? Thanks a lot
Wonder if it can get a moderately cranked BFSR tone. I am looking forward to testing my strat neck on the BF setting with the Gain dimed higher to get to that tube saturation sweet spot. Not so high its muddy, but very crunchy when you dig in. Hard to find a clip for just that tone strat neck on the champ demos. Think big fat ringing open Es. Metal/Dist sounded pretty good. I expect to have 3 fav tones. Tweed, BF (dimed with gain and reverb/delay) and 3rd Metal. Epi P90s coming.
