  • Today we are preparing another homemade BEER: COLA GINGER BEER.
Actually, not having the HOP, it should not be considered a real BEER, but being this the name they gave it, we can only call it GINGER BEER.
The peculiarity of this recipe is that we are going to use COCA COLA.
As usual let me know what you think and give your advice below in the comments.
If you would like to support the channel, do not hesitate to contribute to the purchase of the necessary material ;) thanks in advance

So I brewed this recipe with a single 2L bottle of Generic Cola, I added 1 355ml can of Coke Zero (FLAT) for unfermentable sweetness at bottling + 23 Grams of Sugar at bottling. The result is actually very nice. Thank you for the recipe. 12 Brix OG - 5 Brix at Bottling. I also used bread yeast. Came out fine.

@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato Before I could not get wine yeast here so used bread yeast because no choice.
After 3 months, the wine tasted fine with no hint of after taste.
I hope one day you experiment with a single batch..See what your verdict is!

Hello! I wondered what your Coca Cola sugar content was - it said on the bottle ‘low sugar’ - did it have artificial sweeteners in it? If so, I think using the full sugar, non-diet Coke would make more alcohol? What do you think? BTW, your sound is great now you have the Lav mic 👍🏻👍🏻

How are you? Good recipe videoed. Definitely all wine wishers are greatful to your goodness.
    Two Doubts:
1.Making wine out of these soft drinks will give any harm to consumers because these soft drinks may contain some pests as you also aware about the same?
2.Shall we increase the % of Alcohol ranging from 12 - 42 in this ?.If not up to 42, then to how much the % can be increased by doing what aspects?
    Expecting reply at your leisure.

You probably know this, but ginger (might need to be organic) has natural yeast on the outside pealing, so if you didnt boil the ginger and left the peeling on you shouldnt need any additional yeast. It may take longer to ferment in the primary stage though, I would think.

Id recommend making what is called (at least in the US) a ‘ginger bug’ like you did in your ‘Homemade YEAST for WINE, BEER and BREAD - How to make YEAST from scratch‘ for the grapes and apples. Just to make sure the yeast on your ginger is viable. Then you could just use that yeast.

If you want to make it even more homemade, you can use kola nut and coca leaf to flavour it instead of using coca cola :D

Hi Sir... We from india... Your programs very attractivly. But, Is it true that I have heard that yeast can sometimes be poisoned when making beer?

    • @sparklysparks77
      @sparklysparks77 3 роки тому

It can become _contaminated_ or "killed" if you are not careful in your brewing processes. But any food/beverage can become a sort of poison when exposed to recurrent high temperatures, such as inside a locked car.

I used Pepsi instead of coke. I boiled the darned thing for 10 minutes (just because I think I could evaporate as much of the preservatives) and I added a half cup of sugar as well. It's been freaking 15 days and my brew is still bubbling every 2 - 3 seconds interval. Did I do everything wrong or do I have to wait until the bubbling become 1 every 5 minute interval or no bubbles at all?

how much alcohol can we get in homemade wine with highest sugar content?

Best yeast that I've come across is 1118 champagne yeast. For only about $1.39 you could brew 5 gallons.

I would have thought the preservatives in the and all the other crap in their would prevent the fermentation, but clearly not!

That is only from distilling the beer to get 25-60% spirits. Methanol is the first out, and has to be thrown away. No worries at normal beer percentages.
