Haha I do indeed! I haven't done many crawler videos lately, I've been really immersed in the 80's and 90's re-release Tamiya and Kyosho stuff. But I do enjoy taking my TRX-4 out pretty regularly. 👊
Not to mention the part that comes with junk servo won't fit standard servo output shaft...lol... When my daughters dig dies, I'm gonna rig up a strong full size servo ... even if I gotta fab up a mount or have someone print me a bit... my youngest has a .3 RTR... I have an AX10 Scorpion on SCX10 frame, son has a SCX10 Deadbolt, and was just given another truck, with original SCX10 axles, my middle kid has a Bomber, and I have a 10.2 kit..... next we need an Element and a Phoenix. ... Cheers
Great review! Totally agree Axial needs to include all of the needed Micro servo parts. Axial does offer the micro servo saver set with the needed adapter: AX31009 for $6.99
@@poorboysrc Yeah the problem is finding that part. Thankfully I have 2 yeti jr's that came with those extra parts and am able to them with the micro servo's I went with.
@@poorboysrc My neighbors Emaxx sterring just crapped out. 3 weeks old, 4 runs. Ya it could be warranted but i'd be swapping it out again in a few weeks. He got the upgraded Traxxas Servo for it. I have my doubts We shall see. I have never had a Traxxas servo last longer than a month. The 1st thing I did with any Traxxas was dump the Servos and Radio. Generally upgraded the Motor, if not both motor esc out of the box.
Is that right, eh? When I bought the kit I was unable to find that servo adapter on it's own. And honestly, to this day, I still feel it should have been included in the kit. 🤙🍻
The micro servo issue 1st appeared w/ the CAPRA. You may purchase the SPECTRUM servo w/ cap OR purchase just the cap and use your preferred servo. The choice is yours. You missed the ORIGINAL frustration, during the CAPRA build. Enjoy your 10iii
Ah, so Axial has been playing this servo game for a while now. Too bad, it's a really lousy move on their part. It cheapens the whole build experience.
The running "click" sound is gone, but the trans is still very loud. I've read that it really needs to break in, so I'm not going to draw any conclusions until I run a few packs through it, and really work it in. 🤙
I recently put one together and was very disappointed with all the mistakes it had in the manual. It wasn’t something I couldn’t figure out, but for those who never built a kit, this would have been rough for newbies. Seems like Axial jumped the gun in releasing these without proof building them. I hope they correct this in the future. The TRX4 kit was a ton easier to build than this. I love the challenge though....part of this awesome hobby.
I would agree with you 100%! I had a hard time building my kit, and I've been building kits for 30+ years! I just sold mine, and I hope the new owner loves it!
FYI, you don't NEED a servo saver on 2 speed and Dig so long as you properly set up the channels and pay close attention to ENDPOINT Settings. If you have a cheap radio, that does not offer endpoints on the 3rd and 4th channel, then you have a cheap radio and need to get a better one. that doesn't mean more expensive. The FlySky 6channel and the Radio Link 6 channel radios are 70ish bux and are very capable units offering EPA on all channels, including channel 5 & 6. Good radio is Important, and that cheap Specky radio is sadly crap.
Absolutely a bullshiish move from horizon to make ppl buy their servo 👎🏻👎🏻 I will still get the rig but it will be a single speed no-dig functionable crawler great video my RC brother keep up the good work
Thanks bro! Yeah, pretty disappointed about the servo situation. Couple other hiccups with the manual, and overall, the kit felt rushed. Too bad, because it's a beautiful kit, and I hate to see Axial fall behind in the scale/crawler world... They basically invented it!
Which I feel is pretty lame... Horizon is a huge company, why compromise their integrity to squeeze another $25 from their customers? Low brow move if you ask me!
Got far enough down the list of videos to answer a question I asked in your LMT video.... you DO do crawlers.... the relaxing side of RC. ...

A whole crawling family, that's awesome dude! 👌

Thanks for watching, and thanks for the part number! Again, it's too bad that part isn't in the kit, but at least it's out there! 👊😁👊
@@poorboysrc Yeah the problem is finding that part. Thankfully I have 2 yeti jr's that came with those extra parts and am able to them with the micro servo's I went with.
Cool tips bro👍🏻. Lot's of good information here.
Thanks bro! Hopefully had some good stuff in there for ya! Thanks for watching! 👊
@@poorboysrc definitely good stuff.. Thanks 👍👍
Just purchased one, thank you for the informed vid. And just subscribed.
Hope you enjoy the rig, James! And thanks for the sub! 🤙
Thanks for the video..I’m on my 4th dig servo
That's brutal! Pretty cheesey move of Axial to not have given a servo saver with the kit, eh!?!? 🤙
its a big information for me. I also bought cheep micro servo... thanks 🙏
Good stuff, hopefully it helped! 👊
Count your blessings that those TraxxASS servos have survived longer than 3 weeks.
I must be one of the lucky ones!

You can get that little part for the micro servo alone without the Spektrum servo
Is that right, eh? When I bought the kit I was unable to find that servo adapter on it's own. And honestly, to this day, I still feel it should have been included in the kit. 🤙🍻

I 3d printed the missing part and I built the trx4 chassis kit and I would agree that axial did step up but they needed to jump and failed
3Dprinting the part is smart! Just unfortunate that you bought a new kit, and had to print parts for it! Lol!
You prefer the TRX-4 to the SCX 3?
@@poorboysrc there both very capable but the trx4 is just beefier
@@ViperRC I agree. I might have to do a comparison video...
@@poorboysrc same here lol
Pay attention also when assembling the portal axle "axl232007" when mounting the front and rear differentials.
I’ve been having trouble with my linkage ends ripping apart from the rods
Metal rod ends will help with that. If you're running hard (and it sounds like you are) the plastic ends will rip out.
Thanks for the video. Did the transmission stop clicking?
The running "click" sound is gone, but the trans is still very loud. I've read that it really needs to break in, so I'm not going to draw any conclusions until I run a few packs through it, and really work it in. 🤙

I'm waiting for the second wave of trucks to come out
Yeah the first lot sold out pretty quick. Lots of good build tips and tricks available now online. :)
I'm not a fan of that servo nosense, but it's an excellent video. Fil
Thanks, dude! Still grinding that algorithm! Love it! 🤗

The dig is more useful than the two speed.
I never did try it. Nice that its part of that transmission.
Nice vid
Thanks! 👊
for the micro sevo
Pretty cheesey they didn't include it in the kit. 🤯
It's there way to make you buy there brand of micro servo
Which I feel is pretty lame... Horizon is a huge company, why compromise their integrity to squeeze another $25 from their customers? Low brow move if you ask me!
Just built mine and the dig died in like 20sec
Brutal! Mine did the same, without a good servo saver, the micro servo motors burn up pretty fast!
theres a $4 piece from axial that is that piece but i agree its anoying
