    Love your videos Eddie, but I'm going to have to disagree on your point about "nobody" using cubic and quartic formulas.
    Whilst I agree the formulas are cumbersome, especially when working by hand in a classroom, they can be simplified dramatically by converting the original problem into a depressed cubic or quartic. Furthermore, both formulas are very easily programmed into a computer in a language of your choice, meaning you can just supply the coefficients and you'll have the roots very quickly.
    Yes, numerical methods are important in analysis, but to just flippantly say the cubic and quartic formulas are of no practical use is incorrect.

      I've heard a similar thing from 3b1b -- (heavily paraphrased! what I felt was something like...) nobody's studying these / they're not interesting -- and I've spent a fair amount of time on them. I'd like to think I have "interesting" things to add but if academia is over them like this, I'm not entirely sure who the audience would be then...
