- I have edited this video to show all the cricket fans the Story of Sydney Test 2008 - Sydneygate Scandal and Shameful Umpiring.
It may be considered as the revival of India Cricket. After It India won the 3rd Test at Perth.
This test was full of controversies i.e the Monkeygate scandal between bhajji and symonds and the hearing where Sachin was called. And Steve Bucknor bad umpiring. MS Dhoni and Ishant Sharma were not happy when Symonds was not given out. Rahul Dravid was given out catch behind when he has not touched it. Sourav Ganguly was caught at slip by Michael Clarke and he stood his ground and eventually Ricky Ponting gave it out. And the Famous last over of Michael Clarke. A dramatic and eventful Test to say the least.

2018-19 & 2020-21 series victory is a perfect tribute to 2008 team.
It never replaces that series. Winning against that's team was not like winning against a rubbish aussie team in 2020. Sachin had a great series if there was DRS that would have been first series win.

We strongly felt our team should have returned. People on the streets were very agitated. I read somewhere this Bucknor wanted his fellow Jamaicans to protest during India's visit to WI for disgracefully removing him from officiating in any more matches. He was stopped by his board.
The sheer number of howlers that went against India in this match was unbelievable. Heartbreaking to watch. Thank God we have DRS now.

I always believed that Sydney test was India's game. India could have easily chased the target of 333. Rahul Dravid was looking solid on that day and looked ready to build another wall. Remember this test where Dravid took 40 balls to score his next run and this is how he used to play with bowlers mind by frustrating them. Sourav Ganguly was also in good form that time and with both contribution India could have easily chased the target but the poor umpiring cost India the match. Otherwise India could have won the series 2-1.
There was only one team that played in the spirit of the game - Kumble ! Quite right.
